  1. I find that when I am too far ahead and they are lost I just open the map up and instruct them to move to a location near me then once in range to regroup.

Huawei E220 broke my Arma 2

I have the same device, it installs itself and looks like a CD drive then once recognised changes itself to a modem/device, I can't see how this could effect the ArmA 2 install ? unless you have a removeable CD/DVD drive and the Huawei took that drives letter during the startup ?

    No disc required to play

I have the Metaboli version of the game and once installed I can uninstall and then install the UK DVD version and still have the luxury of not needing the DVD in the drive. This is a SecuRom 'feature' so hope that helps :)

    Hardware Q's

Best way to start on install is turn everything to low then start increasing things. The last thing you should enable is PP and AA. Also have your view distance down to around 1000, that can also create some fps bottlenecks. I now (24/7/09) run everything on normal, VD at 1000 and PP off with no AA, 1680x1050/1680x1050 and get 20-60 fps depending on location and other random unexplainable things.

    ATI Catalyst 9.7 is here

I guess you put that in for me to respond to you ? Well, ok then, good that you have updated from 9.6 and you may or may not have performance increases that may or may not be due to this or another switch you used, real nice. XP user myself, had the leaked XP drivers that are the same at the official released ones. Not checked the Win7 or Vista ones so who knows the performance may be there. I am glad that BI are let off the hook with the brilliant performing game ArmA 2, I for one say they should delay any patch release and wait for the drivers to hopefully give perfromance increases so they can concentrate on ArmA 3, maybe the hardware will catch up to out perform it. Cheers.

    ATI Catalyst 9.7 is here

Indeed, any improvements or loss is just a bi-product of the drivers which is a shame, if only BI had the foresight to communicate with AMD/ATI prior to release, imagine what they could have acheived together.
  7. So far the only response we have seen is a mixture of 'your hardware is faulty' and '...a combination of your hardware and drivers' so I am afraid that is all we have managed to get from the elusive BI developers. My initial problems I actually got an email stating its a problem with AGP for me but the other users here and probably yourself do not use AGP but PCIe so not even sure they are looking at the FAULT with ARMAII.
  8. I had ATI Tray Tools before and don't recall having to use a modified .exe ? If it modifies the .exe then yes FADE is designed to kick in but once you switch back it should revert, failing that copy all your settings off and reinstall if it happens again when not using ATT.

Thanks for your valued contribution, not sure what you added but thanks for posting, it really helps. Not really into the sims but I am guessing you are seasoned player and are asking me on a date in some kiddy slang ? Well, sorry but no thank you, I am flattered though. choC, you are posting my reply to my post, why put it again in the same order, oh and look the original was updated today when my original post was last night a 9pm, Miss Marple would be saddened by your lack of observation. Wow this forum is cool place to hang out, getting down wiv da kids. Edit: Interesting kklownboy, why change your post ? Its ok I have quoted it here, cheers.

    Patch?!?

26 Pages... how many BI responses to any of the 'suggestions' ?
  12. thr0tt

    Patch?!?

Well, the only small smidgen of information that has been revealed about the forthcoming patch was the stuff Placenta posted which contained minor bug fixes. All along and in what seems every 'Where is the patch' thread folk are asking the same questions but yet no sticky nor updates are posted, how do you suggest the information is requested ?

    Patch?!?

Nice, how many warnings do I get before a ban btw ? Just warning you that you are not allowed to post humour here nor ask about the patch it is taboo.

    Patch?

    lol, sorry its Friday. :D

    ATI Catalyst 9.7 is here

Easy to misread isn't it ? I said "Still lets hope your clan server full of mature 18+ users includes the use of more exclamation marks and maybe some other characters to help show your frustration in game."

    ATI Catalyst 9.7 is here

Needs more exclamation marks and question marks. Didn't read your post closely enough before assuming you had tried the leaked versions of these drivers which are the same. The statement about the saviour was not directed at you just a statement of fact for any that think ATI will save the game. Still lets hope your clan server full of mature 18+ users includes the use of more exclamation marks and maybe some other characters to help show your frustration in game. ;)

    Patch?

  18. The issues experienced by everyone here will not be fixed by turning off post processing and turning up gfx to high, I am happy that this has resolved your problems but the way the engine chooses seemingly random machines it feels that have faulty hardware or incompatible confugrations cannot be fixed by turning a few graphical settings up or down. It may help others but if you check out the majority of the threads here then everything that can be tweaked has been tweaked even down to simplistic 'turn off <insert feature here>' suggestions. Cheers, I hear that patch 1.04 is the mutts nuts btw, 1.03 is nothing in comparison.
  19. I say you should get banned for making that statement with no factual evidence. "It seems to have...."

    ATI Catalyst 9.7 is here

Cool, I have just copied an MP3 from one place to another and now believe my ArmA 2 has improved. I get the same results in ArmA Mark II but it feels better. Not sure if this works for you but I also suggest facing the PC to the east to see if that also helps.
  21. Agreed, the game just needs a new image on the loading screen and it will be perfect, there are no other issues just play with the title menu, scrolling up and down, its so fun, please be patient until BI allow you to do more like play it. And yes, a machine more than 6 months old is just so yesterday and was not designed to cut it.
  22. ...and lesser cards too... seems ATI cards in general suffer but BI still stick with its your hardware that is faulty...
  23. thr0tt

    Arma 2 and win2k?

tbh, you have as much chance of the game working on win2k as you do on any other OS, its hit or miss tbh, may even have better results on DOS 3.2.
  24. Turn everything to low should remove most the texture lag. This problem only occurs on faulty hardware which many of us here in the troubleshooting forums have but the fault only occurs with the game which is really unlucky.
