  1. Issue: Fix: I am so glad you feel an upgrade is necessary to fix you issues, if you spent any time reading the thread then you would see folk with much more powerful systems than yours are having issues so 'upgrading' as you put is not the answer, fix the game may be though ? Oh, its not an option from you, thanks for your valued input.
  2. Just bought Fallout 3 and running 1680x1050 everything maxed and it runs smoothly and looks great, no artifacts yet over the past 4 days. ArmA II still corrupts the memory after seconds or minutes (if lucky) of 'gameplay'.
  3. This is great, you have some folk saying its screwed performance and other saying improved... I would suggest those 2 folk who posted here get their specs up side by side and settings to see what the deciding factor could be. Is it still NVidia love and AMD/ATI hate ?

    next patch? performance?

The performance improvements you are after have already been incorporated in the beta patches aparently with better multicore support... not sure what you expect but I can guarantee that if they could give you a 20fps+ booster patch then it would already be out there...
  5. Vanilla servers, can't seem to find anyone running beta version servers :/ Gotcha thanks, I will keep sending them.
  6. With this beta and settings the same for all I am having more crashes in MP game. I get a huge freeze then CTD and send report to M$. Done it a dozen time last night. Do M$ forward these to BI or is there any point in me 'send report to M$' ?
  7. Unfortunately holding back 'suprise' fixes or enhancements does not give any benefit to BI or the customer. Yes, it would surely be a suprise if they held this sort of thing back but the fix would be better positioned in the beta trials to see what it breaks, if of course they wanted to fix this non issue for them. Still on page 61 BI are not willing to join in the conversation with its cusstomers over this fault, it is such a shame and lack of regard for the 'minority ?' that are having this issue preventing them from enjoying an otherwise great game.
  8. The beta files are the ones that will be released so if its not in the beta then don't expect a performance fix to be held back until final...
  9. Very nice. It just gets better and better this tool.
  10. Its a BIOS setting and your BIOS doen't have the option to change it so it will be hard coded to whateve ASUS feel works best for their board.
  11. Personally I find http://dev-heaven.net/projects/list_files/yoma-addonsync2009 a good all rounder, you can have different mods for different servers, favourites, check who's playing, launch external programs on game start like TeamSpeak etc. Worth the time to understand how it works and may be a bit more granular than the afore mentioned launcher.
  12. Maximum Payload Size Common Options : 128, 256, 512, 1024, 2048, 4096 Quick Review This BIOS feature determines the maximum TLP (Transaction Layer Packet) payload size that can be supported by the motherboard chipset's PCI Express controller. The TLP payload size determines the amount of data transmitted within each data packet. When set to 128, the motherboard chipset's PCI Express controller will only support a maximum data payload of 128 bytes within each TLP. When set to 256, the motherboard chipset's PCI Express controller will only support a maximum data payload of 256 bytes within each TLP. When set to 512, the motherboard chipset's PCI Express controller will only support a maximum data payload of 512 bytes within each TLP. When set to 1024, the motherboard chipset's PCI Express controller will only support a maximum data payload of 1024 bytes within each TLP. When set to 2048, the motherboard chipset's PCI Express controller will only support a maximum data payload of 2048 bytes within each TLP. When set to 4096, the motherboard chipset's PCI Express controller supports the maximum data payload of 4096 bytes within each TLP. This is the maximum payload size currently supported by the PCI Express protocol. It is recommended that you set this BIOS feature to 4096, as this allows all PCI Express devices connected to send up to 4096 bytes of data in each TLP. This gives you maximum efficiency per transfer. However, this is subject to the PCI device connected to it. If that device only supports a maximum TLP payload size of 512 bytes, the motherboard chipset will communicate with it with a maximum TLP payload size of 512 bytes, even if you set this BIOS feature to 4096. On the other hand, if you set this BIOS feature to a low value like 256, it will force all connected devices to use a maximum payload size of 256 bytes, even if they support a much larger TLP payload size.
  13. I found removing that line helps. With no mousesmoothing command (was 30) then the game mouse appears better for me. I really hope that a miracle patch enables my minimum fps to be 25+ rather than a pitiful 16-17fps...
  14. Cool. Was just checking, no harm in asking, now where do I put my credit card detail again ? ;) j/k
  15. Nice idea but the information you are gathering is it now secure once you have it stored ?
  16. Please direct me to the NForce3 GART drivers for Win7 and I will gladly try it. My AGP card doesn't fit in any PCIx slot. Looks like the thread will turn into the usual 'overheating', 'power', 'XP is so old hat', 'Your PC is misconfigured', 'your machine is faulty', 'GPU is faulty', 'memory faulty', 'machine not facing Mecca', 'encase pc in lead to stop solar flares' type crap, (game has a fault maybe ?). Before offering wonderous solutions to an issue that exists then please let us know that you had the issue prior to doing the above otherwise your 'solution' is just the usual common practice that we have already tried ! So stop adding the same old unfounded rubbish over and over again, please. :)
  17. As there has been no official response from BIS, I mean, even if they admit there is an issue and they can't fix it nor intend to would help people move on, then we should only assume that this is not even being looked at as a fault with the game, dissapointing.

Thank you, B.I.S.; Sign if you agree.

Np's. Yes I do so not sure what your undying love for BIS is going to acheive but each to their own. Here you are: Signed a million times, in blood, stone and BIS have my man love plus an extra lick on the face for each of the devs. I hope that helps the cause. :inlove:

Thank you, B.I.S.; Sign if you agree.

How many of the same folk here have sent a 'thanks' or 'signed' thread to Microsoft for selling them an OS ? Support can only really be given to a commercial company by purchasing product, BIS cannot stay in business with 'love' alone I am afraid my friends.
  20. Here is what it looks like and runs like on my system (when I frig it so there is no screen corruption). <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CCmNlQyXWRA&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CCmNlQyXWRA&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
  21. Create a new profile then exit the game. Then, open up C:\Documents and Settings\<Yourname>\My Documents\ArmA 2 Other Profiles\<New Profile>\ and copy your existing <username>.profile to the new name, in there you will find all your key binds and 'name', just play around with that.
  22. I thought they got released at the same time November 2007 but ok, was just clarifying your statement on testing on the 3xxx and 4xxx series, I thought you did extensive testing on the range, you mean you tested on a HD3870 in the 3xxx series and your HD4870 from the 4xxx series. Lots of differences in the range from 256MB to 2GB which would make all the difference.
  23. Sorry but the CCC overdrive only overclocks in my version, what version do you have that allows underclocking ? Default clocks = same issues.
  24. Maybe so but the graphical artifacts are still there. Which HD3xxx card are you testing on btw under XP32 ?
