it's obvious the hackers are working for an agenda that most of them are oblivous to. Ignorant pawns doing the chores are a sinister enitity. Sounds paranoid? maybe, but business uses many tactics to beat the competition. The hackers preach freedom but true freedom can only be achieved when people take it upon themselves to be responsible. They are no more than E-Thugs. they know what they do pisses people off. It's rude and due to the anonimity of the internet they flex this e-thuggery like chicken shit cowards hiding behind a video screen. Cliched victims of bullies would be my guess. rather pathetic beings unhappy with life inflicting what ever pain others have caused them and trying to consider fun by making people miserable. I read on forums one of the hackers want to spoil the game so much BIS goes under. A small dev company competing with big business. makes you wonder if the hackers (wether they know it or not) are doing the deeds of rival company. rather sad to target an indie games company.

I have !.08 installed and cannot connect to certain Arma servers running same version. For example I can connect to Karrillions but not Suicide Squad. Says my version is wrong. My version is default 1.08 no addons mods or anything. This is highly frustrating as many servers I used to play on are off limits now. My ArmA is German version from Morphicon.

Killjoy has stated manytimes before he doesn't want his map tampered with. It's an afront to his hours of hard work. like a painting that you draw on. Desecration for want of sa better word. The point of Evo is to gain rank ie evolve. don't you get it?

Damp you are missing the point of EVO. Consider what evolution is and then apply it to ArmA. Rank is the fundemental driving point of this map you cannot disable it else the game ceases to be EVO. Read my post above.

They cancelled the free trail but are reactivating it in a few weeks. The game is buggy and 4 years old but don't let that put you off. Its all player vs player too, so no going up against AI, NPC's. Did I mention the biggest battles in a game 400 players per continent/map. I will be honest there are bugs but they are very tolerable. You can play a multitude of roles from invisble cloaker that does sabotage missions on enemy generators and spawn rooms to deny enemy repsawn and vehicle facilities. grunting with heavy weapons, tanks, giant walkers, aircraft (dog fighting, bombing and the Galaxy dropship that drops 15 troops on a target. Its awesome and is probably the only game that comes close to the scale or ArmA. Be warned you will die alot to begin with as there is a lot to take in at first. But like i said stick with it and get into an outfit and you will have an enjoyable time.

The Evolution map is being abused by solo grinders and I firmly believe Evolution should be under a different catagory, not coop. Killjoy you have revolutionised ArmA for many of us but this map is used by WoW reject Rambos that like nothing better than isolating themselves in game (Probbaly like as in real life) and doing their own thing. Listen people the game mode is COOP. Short for Cooperative. That means work as a team and stop Ramboing. Even better free up the spaces and play the offline version.

Planetside is without a doubt a game you should try if you like Ofp ArmA. You will get owned to begin with but stick at it and you can be doing the owning. What's unique about PS is that it is skills based combat so a lower level char is on even terms with a high level char. Google for it.

Another Rainbow Sux game...yawn. Small maps and linear game play with a second rate illusion of open endedness. Yes and probably will have content like. I see the small maps as a complete waste of ArmA potential. I play Arma for the huge environments and the mixture of vehicle and infantry combat. The maps being hosted are a reflection of the OFP/ArmA player base. The majority like co-op and CTI. Where the whole map is being used with multiple objectives. Evolution provides a unique RPG style of play and people are playing it alot due to the constant updates and honeymoon period. All I can say is stop moaning and go and host your own server with the maps you like because ArmA caters for all game modes and if there is something you want to play and it ain't there, well go and put it there. I got bored with BF conquest mode (bezerk) years ago playing BF1942, DesertCombat Eve Of Destruction, Forgotten Hope ect.

@Stobbsy I fully understand as I play Planetside and that has the options of play style you describe. It seemed like you were kicking KillJoy in the nuts with that's it I'm never playing it again statement. Evo emcompasses many features and just because the side missions require more than one player now. Is it really a reason not to play? at least try to play as a team. Sounds like to me you have done too much grinding in WoW My biggest gripe about evo is the terrible lack of team play on some servers. I am into coop in a big way and to finally get an open ended mission like evo is my gaming utopia. To see Evo being played by solo grinders just defeats the spirit of coop and the vision for the mission.

@Lolsav I agree but the guy is an admin on a public server, yet he claims he doesn't like random players. Confused? I know I am.

@Stobbsy You have a low opinion of random players and you don't like clearing towns. You are playing the wrong game. Evolution is probably the best coop mission in videogaming today. Emphasize coop. Ask people to help you, what is wrong with that? Your attitude stinks and would put me off connecting to the SuicideSquad server, if you are an admin. A big up to KillJoy for his time and effort. Imagine 200 player CTI's. Planetside has 399 players per zone the biggest fights online for the last 4 years. Was hoping that ArmA would provide similar numbers with a combination of Humans and AI players. Could we see this in the future?

My only gripe is the lack of team play. Seriously no one plays in a squad. Even the famous SES server. everyone squaded on their own and even TS was silent. Killjoy please please make it more team centric. everyone babbles about realism. Whats realistic about ramboing?

I have not played another game which does the night so well. Its a joy night fighting. Come on map makers I am sick to death of these bright sunny day missions. FDF was really dirty and the atmosphere was fantastic I want more fog more night (no day option plz) I want rain. On a serious note the night vision is such an improvement I love the way it takes you time to adjust.

Amd 64 3700, 128 mb GF6600gt (Driver 91.47) and 2 gig of dual channel ram at 333. German version, from Morphicon. Runs like a dream now. Huge performance gain, can actually play it at 1280 x 960 res. We talking about the same patch here? My rig is amd 64 3700, 2 gig ram and GF6600gt. The performance is certainly better after patching. Aiming is a joy and has that old OFP feel to it. Download asap.

Your gaming experienced will be even lower, with less people able to play with those settings. ArmA is shining now with the awesome improvements from the 1.05 patch. Well done BIS. I play 4 hours straight with no crashing. Most of the time in coop mode. I played CTF for 5 mins as that's all the time I can stand on that waste of engine game mode. LOve the grass flattening, adds a deeper sense of emersion and thumbs up for it:)

I'm confused. People are saying it's more multiplayer than single and someone else contradicts that by stating ArmA is more Coop driven. Isn't Coop single player with human team mates? Just because the campaign is poorly designed doesn't mean that the user made missions will be. Afterall, ArmA is an improved OFP and contains the same and more?
