jeez thats horrible. I watched the making of the new US armed rec heli (can't remember name) and one of the biggest things that had to keep in mind was visibility for the pilot - how are you supposed to keep 'all round combat awareness' when you can only look straight! lol....never mind the soldier standing 10ft away on your left with an RPG or AT4 or something! ahh well....
-
is it really that bad? I mean heck, I can't even see sideways! surely they wouldn't restrict the view of the pilot

cant register to log an 8800 vista etc error

y'know sometimes if users don't have something credible to add, DON'T ADD ANYTHING. I too am a Vista/8800GTS driver (and damn proud of my rig) - I look to posts like this to hopefully provide me with a solution to the problem. Answering with smart alec comments like 'read the label on the box and run it on XP' is NOT a proper solution. Guys keep it constructive. We're not here to debate whether Vista > XP or if MS is the devil in disguise. THis is the ARMA Troubleshooting forum - a lot of us are here to find solutions to our problems (whatever it may be). I paid $90 for ArmA and I expect some sort of help when I have problems running it....even though I'm not running the recommended specs. -
Hi all I have the exact same problem. The game starts fine but then: - the textures rapidly deteriorate to exactly those pics posted above - FPS drops - I can't close ArmA! I have to end up closing it via task mgr as it hangs on closing. My specs: E6600 2gig DDR2 RAM MSI 8800GTS 640mb 22'' LCD I also run Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit Hopefully they fix this problem soon.

yep I get the same error. I have Vista 32bit running on an E6600 with an 8800GTS vid card. I also notice that after a few minutes, the quality of the texture starts to degrade to the point where a vehicle looks like a square with triangular wheels!

How can you edit official SP missions?
The_Pharoah replied to The_Pharoah's topic in OFP : MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
thanks for that. Forum searches usually drag up much more than needed and I just needed a straight answer - which you've graciously provided. Thanks mate. -

How do you edit official OFP missions? eg. on battlefield, I'd like to edit the SP mission to change my weapon to say an M21 sniper rifle or other. Is this possible?

Hi guys I absolutely LOVE playing OFP but I hate being the leader (too time consuming). Where can I find custom missions where: 1. there are large full-scale battles (eg. like 'Battlefield' in the default OFP) 2. I am just one of the grunts with NO leadership requirements. Cheers
