I haven't played the game either, but your assumptions about it being the Marines seem pretty accurate. The only real missing thing would seem to be the M-16A4. Every picture I see has them using M4's. Is the M-16A4 actually in the this game as well?

How diverse are your infantry units going to be? For instance will you just have generic American/Soviet/German/East German troops? Or will you break it up into say for instance-Army/Paratroopers/Marines/SOF?

Awesome units! This is so out of the blue, you guys are awesome. As for the next release...pleaes please VDV!

Looking awsome, Ebud. Tonal and the associated units are by far my favorite addons ever. I loved how you had a backstory and ORBAT associated, it made it feel like an actual setting as opposed to some random map with units. These new guys look great, loving the camo on the scouts. Do you think we could get a look-see at the updated Tonal SF? I'm dying to see what they look like.

Laser's US Weapons pack v3.0 and Para Rescue pack
ThePara replied to Shadow NX's topic in ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Awesome units, great detail. You're setting the standard laser. The weapons are in my opinion the greatest part of this pack. Why no groups for these units though? Any plans for them in a patch? -
They gave you their permission to post these photographs, right?

SA-80 released! It's great, trust me ;)
ThePara replied to chris330's topic in ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Does this SA80 have iron-sights are the SUSAT sight like the UKF one? -
I'm getting model.special errors on all the units when I try to use them... Did I install them wrong? I simply took them all and put them into my res/addons folder and they won't work?
-
I'm sure this is asked and answered, but does the 2006 pack allow for the use of outside addons, like the Euro pack does?
-
You should also change the helmet worn by the US infantry in your modern mod if possible. The K-pot is being phased out and replaced by the ACH/MICH.
-
Wow, excellent job. They look great! The M4's look amazing too, will they be included in this pack? Have you fixed the PJ/CCT mix-up?
-
Awesome looking units, but you've made a small error there, my friend. Combat Controllers and PJ's are too very seperate things. It's not a PJ Combat Controller, just a CCT. Simple name mix up is all.
-
There are differences in the gear. They're minor but you can see how they separate themselves apart and define their roles. The reason they all look alike is because all US SOF units use what works, so the gear usually looks similar.

I find it hard to believe that in todays day in age a highly trained CT unit, belonging to a modernized country doesn't recieve training in something as basic as proper recovery positions. That's a first-responder thing, nothing overly complex are hard to grasp.

The camp you're referring to is Lang Vei and it's Montagnards. Khe Sanh was also the sight of an Army SF A-Camp, although it was later abandoned.

Holy cow! Talk about steep requirements...

I'm by no means an expert on AFSOC, but those are kind of difficult questions. I guess a good name for them in the editor would simply be Para-Rescueman? I'm not really sure on that. The topic of squad configurations is a little difficult too..since PJ's don't really operate in that traditional sense. They are typically attached to another SOF unit, or work in groups of two(?) in a CSAR capacity. A suggestion would be to maybe make a whole AFSOC pack, including CCT (Combat Controllers), SOF TACP's and PJ's as the number of unit variations you could get from just PJ's is a bit limited. Or maybe create Army SF units, and include a few PJ units as well. Weapons are pretty much standard fare for any SOF unit. Just some suggestions. Best of luck, it's about time these guys get represented.

Blackwater & CIA close protection

MPRI doesn't provide CP duty, where did you hear this? -
Blackwater & CIA close protection
ThePara replied to ExtracTioN's topic in ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
The term is Case Officer, not Operations Officer. They fall under the Directorate of Operations. I also suggest you familiarize yourself with the history of the CIA, and a small branch of the entity known as the Special Activities Division, who I'm sure these people are meant to portray. -
The photographs of the guys wearing ball-caps and punisher patches were confirmed as members of the FORECON platoon underway with the MEU. The Eo-Techs are a dead giveaway, I've never seen SEALs using them. From what I'm told, a MSPF is normally made up of a Direct Action Platoon, (The Force Recon unit), a trailer platoon from the Infantry Battalion, along with a sniper element.
-
There are organized groups in this pack, right? Not just individual units in the editor? I'm dling now and just wanted to check. I've been waiting for these forever. Great job!
-
The look great! The Woodland MARPAT seems to blend in extremely well. I also love the Force Recon guys, the mix of woodland MICH covers and MARPAT is a neat set-up. Out of curiosity do you have FR guys in boonie hats and such for patrolling and recon? Or just the Direct Action set-up?

Fix worked. Really, really neat campaign. Real tenese, spooky atmosphere. Good job!
