Thanks! I guess I'll just try not to worry about it. I just got a little scared by those emails coming in all of a sudden. I thought someone might be in my email. Back to playing ArmA, I suppose. Wish I wasn't so busy though.
-
How could that be the case? And if it is, isn't that pretty bad? It would mean there's someone out there that can't access their account, and then they end up changing my password while they're trying to change their own. Isn't there any way to find out what's happening? This gives me the creeps.
-
Yes, that is the way I understood it, too. And that's why I'm confused. Because: 1) someone other than me keeps requesting a new password for my user name, and 2) I'm not getting any comfirmation email at all, but 3) just an email that says "The validation process was successful. This email contains your new password." and has a new password for me. So in effect I'm getting my password changed without my confirmation.
-
I guess that might be it. It's odd, though. I was a bit curious, so I tried what would happen if I requested a new password. It does send an email first with an "unlock code" that you can use to validate the password request, and only after that it sends the new password in a different email. So, that's two emails in total, first the validation and then the new password. So, if someone thought their username was the same as mine and requested a password, why didn't I get that validation email then? I only got a new password straight away... what could that be about? :S Edited: And now it happened again! I got another new unsolicited password email, and my password changed. The password in the latest email works, my old passwords do not. I didn't request this change, and I did not get a validation email for it. I'm a little worried here. If someone has just mistaken their log-in name for mine and requesting a new password, why aren't I getting the validation emails for the password requests, why does the password change without validation? Is there any way to know who is doing it?

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask it, so I'm sorry if this is in the wrong place... I haven't been at the boards in a long time because I've been busy with things. So I was a little surprised to find an email from support@bistudio.com in my inbox. The email has a subject of "Re: Password request", and it says that "the validation process was successful", and then gives me a new password to the forums. And that password works, by the way. Does anyone know what that is about? I had not lost my password, I haven't been at the forums in months, and I certainly haven't requested a new password. :O And besides, even if I had requested a new password, wouldn't I have had to validate the request first? I'm just a little confused, because I really haven't been in the forum for a while, and then I suddenly get a new password in the email. Thanks for your help.

There's a HYK US Soldiers 1.3 version? Wasn't 1.2 the last one?

Enter my stupid question. Are these "final", or "release candidates"? My connection isn't so good that I'd download these if I knew they will soon be updated...

I just look under all the menus under "Empty" side. Air, Armoured, Car, Camera, Support, Objects, everything, and I can see the objects from addons like BAS Blackhawks - but nothing from the editor update. I read that the editor update has all of the objects from roads to forest blocks and those Res apartment buildings, but I can't find them anywhere. They definitely aren't under West, East or any of those sides either, or I'm completely blind as well as stupid. And no, putting the PBO into Res\Addons doesn't help. ... Just my luck that no one else would have this problem. Edit: Will try with a mod folder. Edit2: Problem solved! The editor update works when it's placed in a mod folder of its own, with nothing else in it, and this works when run with other mod folders as well. Great! Thanks again, the both of you.

Thank you, Avon. 1) That unofficial pbo solved it. No more errors. 2) Oh, I'm sure it works fine for the rest of the world. But I can't seem to get it working, or maybe I just don't know how. I did put the editorupdate102.pbo in OFP\Addons, and that's that. But I can't see any changes at all in the mission editor, that's what makes me think it might not be working...

I hope this is the right forum for these questions. I just noticed two strange problems. 1) After installing the BAS Blackhawks (version 1.00/SOAR 2.00), the original single player mission "Ground Attack II" spits out a nasty "Cannot load mission, missing addons: bas_repairh" error. The mission does work after that, and I have never edited it, it's the BIS original. Also the repairh addon works. I can place them in mission editor and use them, and they work, and no error messages of any kind. I have the bas_repair.pbo in my "BAS" mod folder as well as Res\Addons. I get no errors when I run OFP without the BAS folder as a mod parameter, and the repairhs still work. I have no idea what causes this... 2) Kegetys' editor update 1.11 doesn't seem to work. I get no errors with it, but I can't find the objects it's supposed to add anywhere in the mission editor's menus. What is this update supposed to do? I have no other editor updates installed, and I have the editorupdate102.pbo in OFP\Addons folder, and not in Res\Addons. I'm puzzled. TIA.

That looks great, Cassandra! I hope you get these models done, with voices or without voices. Words can't describe how tired I am of the original male soldiers. The mirror says I just don't look like those seven-footers. I'd help, but I don't know anything about modding, and my English doesn't sound so good. But if you ever get desperate for some extra voice actresses, here's one volunteer.

Thanks! So it seems. I can't believe I missed that other thread about this same exact topic, even though I looked a million times. Shame on me. I guess I'll do the end mission thing. I was avoiding that, since I've never had to use it before on any mission. I guess I've been lucky then. I haven't installed the TSF pack yet, though, since I remember reading something about there being some bug that is to be corrected in the future, and probably pretty quickly. I thought I would wait.

Despair rising. I've been stuck in the fourth mission of BAS Tonal Insurgency 01 for days now. It's that one in which you're supposed to secure the city of Ixtlan in the north of Tonal. Usually my team gets slaughtered and only I survive, but even when this does not happen, and my team makes it to the town square, the mission just won't end. No matter how much I run around the city, looking in every open shanty and nook and corner for rebel militias, I find nothing, and the mission doesn't end, and I have no idea why. I've certainly used all my CAS missions, too, in case that might affect it somehow. I had this problem in version 1.0, but upgrading to Tonal Tango patch 1.1 and then to 1.2 failed to fix it. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? [/blonde] Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Finnish Defence Forces Modification 1.3

No matter how many megs it takes, I'm happy to hear it will soon be out. You boys don't like long holidays, do you? The NFOR part of the campaign was really screwed up by 1.3, as you know. For instance, in the Velka Ves (?) mission where the rebels have taken over a village and start shooting civilians, and your NCO tells you to hold fire until reinforcements arrive, everyone starts firing anyway at the rebel UAZ. In that same mission the rebels also nearly always slaughter the entire NFOR patrol by virtue of having too many guys with guns. And the Morningstrike mission on the rebel main base is total slaughter. I think the rebels have way too much heavy weaponry in that mission. Pasis and M2A2s always get blown to hell in just a few seconds. And the rest of the campaign, although it works better, most of the gates are broken. They won't open in cutscenes or otherwise, probably because of the changed object IDs like with the bridge of Burning Bridges. But that's all old news, and I don't want to sound like I'm complaining. FDFMOD is the best thing that's happened to OFP, in my opinion. -
