Finally!! I uninstalled it, found a regcleaner for XP, installed it again, updated to 1.94beta, added the "-nomap" and VIOLA! It works.....still got some minor glitches with seeing things through characters heads, but at least I can finally get in..... I did notice that I can not run the game without that "-nomap" fix. If I do I still get the same screen as shown above. So, are they going to fix this with the next patch? Thanks for all of your help! Yep, I did get the 1.94 patch (I have that .exe in my folder). I ran it, and again the same problem. So I uninstalled the game, but I don't seem to have that program (scanreg) to clean out the registry. Also, I did try the "-nomap" and the problem was still there. Lets see what "Scanreg" can do for me.....

Sorry, but without being able to get into the game how can I tell? I know that I have DL'd a couple of patches, but until I get home and look at the file names I won't know. On the second point, I have not tried to use that "-no map" in the shortcut. What does that do exactly? And Thanks for the quick response.

Howdy all, I know that I'll probably get flamed for this post, but I have tried doing searches, and I have been through AvonLady's FAQ (Great piece of work there) and I have dl'd the latest video, directx, sound drivers.  I have been pulling my hair out for about a week, and finally decided to ask if you nice people might have some suggestions. Problem:  After installing the game and running it I get to this screen, almost like where the menu should be. The screen moves around like I'm in a helicopter or something, and if I move my mouse I can hear "clicks" as though there was a menu there but I can't see it. I just bought OFP:GOTY and have upgraded it to 1.94 without a problem.  System Specs: Pentium 4 2.53ghz 1gig PC2700 DDR Asus P4S8X - (need to dl the latest AGP driver, but not sure if this could be a problem or not) Radeon 9700 Pro 128mb SB Audigy Gamer DirextX 9.04b  (or is it 9.01b?? -- Sorry doing this from work) I have no troubles playing any other games....AA:O, RvS, SOF2, BF1942, etc....  So I don't see why I should have aproblem with this game.  However, after reading (and trying) many of AvonLady's FAQ ideas, I have come away with a feeling that this game is VERY sensitive to all types of settings. I have DL'd the ATI Tweak utility and am afraid to go into it, fearing I might damage the card, and lose my ability to play anything.  I will try the last thing that I haven't, which is to do a full uninstall and then the ScanReg.  But I am hoping that perhaps someone else has seen/heard of a similar problem and can point me in the right direction.  Your noobie friend!
