There was a huge screenshot and some info about Doom 3 in PCZone today and the pic looks great, but disgusting (horrible monster whit a chainsaw slaughtering people, looked very real). Also I'm not worried about it not being as good as the original one. Id canceled Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory because they thought it wasn't good enough. Says something about quality requirements. There was a 12 page preview about HL2 in the same magazine and it's awesome. This new info made me think that HL2 is the winner.

HL2 engine looks great. I haven't seen much of Doom 3, but it looks good too. UT isn't that great. It will be a fight between Doom and Half-Life. HL has a very dedicated fanbase. There's zillions of mods for HL now and I think HL2 will be even more popular. IIRC it will have even better support for modding. I'm not sure if it will be licenced in huge quantities, but the community alone will keep it alive for years to come. Doom 3 is stepping in some big shoes. I'm a bit worried if it will be as good as the good 'ol classic (I still play it sometimes). I bet we'll be seeing lots of games based on the famous Doom 3 engine. Lots of games are based on the Q3 engine and I don't thing if it's such a breathtaking engine at all, but it's good for shooters and so is Doom 3 that's for sure.

I agree. Move it to Switzerland. The Swiss would like it and it's probably acceptable to most nations. Switzerland sounds good. It would be neutral enough. The UN building is so good looking that it would be a shame to lose it though.

Whining about it wouldn't be too smart. Shit happens. Soldiers get killed 'cause of weapon malfunctions in RL too. It could be a server side option so you wouldn't have to deal with weapon jams if you didn't want to.

Kofi has always been my personal hero. They mensioned his speech in the news half an hour ago. I knew Kofi would have the balls to stand up against Bush, but this speech was even better than I could've expected. I downloaded and tested it yesterday and I love it! The new sounds are great. New weapons and recoil settings and all that are wonderful. And the most important thing, the Finnish Defence Forces, kick ass. OFP has a totally new feeling to it. (Especially fighting russians is much more intense than with NATO forces  )
