Humanitarian Assistance To The Victims of the Bay of Bengal Earthquake and Tidal Waves The Singapore Red Cross Society in response to the call for international assistance by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, is launching a public appeal to help the victims of the Bay of Bengal earthquake and tidal waves. As an immediate response to the disaster, the Singapore Red Cross will be sending a sum of Singapore dollars, One hundred and fifty thousand (S$150,000) to Thailand, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, and India (through the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies). The Singapore Red Cross is also in touch with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and the national societies of all affected countries to determine what assistance is required to assist the victims. The Singapore Red Cross hopes to raise Singapore dollars, One Million (S$1,000,000) for this appeal. The Singapore Red Cross calls on Singaporeans and other like-minded organisations to come forward to contribute to this appeal and help the victims affected by the earthquake and tidal waves that swept across the India Ocean and affected Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Maldives, India and Sri Lanka. The Singapore Red Cross requests donation for the affected countries. The money donated to this emergency appeal will be used to fund purchases and direct delivery of emergency items like medicine and first aid, food parcels and other relief supplies for the displaced and homeless victims. http://www.redcross.org.sg/press_bayofbengal_appeal.htm

    Heavy Earthquake in Asia

Ok we have hourly updates here in the middle of SE Asia... Â Singapore was spared as she's sheltered by neighbouring islands. Yes, Jet Li was reported missing in the evening local papers.. and I just caught ChannelNewsAsia's update on TV that the Thai King's grandson was among those dead. You may get updates of the tragedy slightly faster from http://www.channelnewsasia.com (an agency based in Singapore) Special coverage here - http://www.channelnewsasia.com/killerwaves/

  11. I'm pleased to announce that the 'KLS User Action Utility' has been released today ! KillSwitch did the script for me a while back and I believe he has done a great job at it even though it's still a BETA. The script basically allows you to add an action script to any player regardless of whether player is in a vehicle or not. (An addaction is usually lost when you mount onto a vehicle, or in the case where you start off the mission in a vehicle; the action be lost when you have dismounted). Additional features in this version include : multiple action scripts integration, whether actions are repeatable and whether user confirmation is required to execute that action script. This script is tested to work in Multi-Player Missions. This should be handy for mission makers out there (I hope). In any case, enjoy !!! Let's hope to see some feedback on this here... Singapore armed forces release !!!

Hello, I decided to leave the thread running for a day before I post any replies on this... Thankfully, this demo release garnered a fair amount of interest... all comments regarding flaws and such have been noted. I'd would like to point out the following points in particular : The demo contains BETA1 versions of armoured vehicles which are considered very preliminary work. The vehicles have since been improved tremendously. Next, we already have our own version of kevlar helmet (not BIS's) available. But it didn't make it into this release. :P theavonlady... just for you, i specially uploaded this set of screenshots of some of the current look/feel of our vehicles... if you were referring to the truck and jeep, the textures will should be reworked on soon enough. http://www.mindwavemedia.com/wchmbr-ss-bx25-v1-2.jpg http://www.mindwavemedia.com/wchmbr-ss-bx4050-v2-5.jpg http://www.mindwavemedia.com/wchmbr-ss-sm1-v2-3.jpg The following briefly describes how this release was put together... ------------------------------------ Release 1.0 Notes Apart from Project War Chamber's BETA1 versions of SM1 light tank and Ultra OWS APC which are included in the add-on pack, Release 1.0 content was developed by students from Nanyang Polytechnic's School of Design and School of Information Technology. Nanyang Polytechnic is a tertiary level educational institute in Singapore. Working closely with the Singapore Army's Training Development Branch and the Defence Science & Technology Agency, the students brought Operation Flashpoint into the local Singapore context and created a SAF training and combat environment. This release was first made available to the public through the Singapore Army's Web Portal at http://content.miw.com.sg/LifeStyle/Games/ls_games_ofp_downloads.asp ------------------------------------ So as you can see, local collaboration work here has been quite extensive... Feel free to post any questions for further discussion... Project War Chamber - Singapore Armed Forces http://www.mindwavemedia.com/warchamber.shtml

  21. As most of the regulars here know, making a tracked vehicle addon with see-thru windows is problematic enough as it is... now with an additional towing script in order for the rear carriage to be added, things are never as complicated as ever. The towing script that was released to the community some time back was for a wheeled vehicle at the rear. I need to know if the parameter "type=rotation" (with reference to 'class animations') can somehow be changed to adopt track animations instead as you all would have known that the Bronco's rear carriage is also tracked (see http://www.mindwavemedia.com/warchamber.shtml ). Ideas, Advice & Suggestions will all be greatly welcomed as any constructive contribution(s) pitched will greatly accelerate the overall development and thereby prompting an earlier public release date (hopefully). Thanks! My Latest Artwork - 25th January 2004 [ FirePearl Hellkite ] http://www.mindwavemedia.com/files/firepearldragon-web.jpg
