The good point is that I don't have anymore troubles installing FFX-UR ... the reason is that the link is broken  Could anyone post a link for a complete and fully working pack ?
-
Unfortunately, the link you have clicked is not available
-
Thanks a bunch all for your suggestions. I'll try both going back to older drivers for Realtek and replacing the ALC850 with Audigy 2, and eventually installing the patch for SoundBlaster audio card...
-
To sad to realize that all that work may be gone ... If anyone has a working Flash_FX configuration, it would be nice to simply make a pack (*.rar) of all recquired files (bin, dta and addons) and upload it somewhere, at least for a couple of days ...
-
Okey, since I am not satisfied with onboard ALC850, I'll get an Audigy 2 ... Anyone having experience in OFP with Audigy 2 board ?
-
@hudler01 A big thank you. It will certainly be very helpful, at least to me. I realized that I don't have any config.cpp in my FlashFX/bin folder @thunderbird84 Your last post is the worst OFP fans could read. Please, don't stop improving such as nice piece of mod because a couple of brainless are bothering you
-
Ooops, latest config.bin gives me a CTD ... I probably missed an addon somewhere since I installed FFX-UR from the very first day it was available. Maybe I should re-install the whole stuff. I'll tell you what, it would be SOOO nice if some gentleman could make a simple readme.txt with simply where to copy which files.... a bit like this : FlashFX/addons : C8X_russ.pbo C8X_usmc.pbo c8Xmag.pbo CBT_mag.pbo [...] TACTEevents.pbo FlashFX/bin : config.bin configECPexplosions.bin configOldExplosions.bin It would somehow be the newbie's highway (or at least mine) to OFP FFX-UR's heaven
-
Newbie question once again : the newest config.bin is supposed to go in FlashFX/bin to install as a mod ?
-
@jonnygo-lightly 1.96 and 1.96beta are basically the same. You should look somewhere else ... I am anyway facing the same issue, where only units are not replaced by addons. I did a mod installation ... or some kind of mod install (installed most addons in FLASHFX/addons instead of Res/addons) that does not fully work, maybe I don't have the right config file in /res Â

Jeeeezzz, this Thunderbird84 is really fast ... maybe you should sleep a couple of hours ... a week

Hi - I am also facing a sound issue. If I get in any kind of vehicules while using external view (3rd person I guess) then I can't hear the vehicule engine/sounds. I have to switch to driver / internal view to hear some sounds. Disabling audio hardware acceleration works to solve this problem, but again I am loosing 5-7 fps ... I am using Realtek on board ALC850 with 5.10.00.5760 drivers. OFP resistance have been installed and then patched directly to 1.96 without intermediate pacthes such as 1.91. Should I get an Audigy sound board Any help appreciated By the way, what is the -nomap command line for ??
-
Thanx thunderbird84, I'll be rechecking By the way, it sounds like smoke fx cause lag while playing on distant win 1.96 server ... ping is increasing while bandwith is going down. I'll have to find out wether it is not mission specific maybe the server config has something wrong...
-
Probably another newbie/install question : are regular M1A1 supposed to be replaced ? I guess so but I can't see much change if any ... did I miss something ? INQ-M1.pbo is in my FlashFLX/addons directory. I do get the really improved FX such as explosions and so on I settled all the extra addons in FlashFX/addons ... Again, auto-install would solve most of the newbie troubles. Maybe, a demo mission might also help to find out wether the FFX-UR is properly installed FFX-UR is still a GREAT work by the way  It is also true that FFX-UR is indeed brand new, thus I guess we can understand that an autoinstalller was not your priority.
-
Simple question: is it better to install all those *.pbo in res/addons or in the FFX mod folder. The same question goes for the Marine Assault pack ? Thanx. Should we create a dta directory in the FFX directory ?
-
GREAT work - That's it  I wish there would be some kind of autoinstall though  Edit : is it better to install all those *.pbo in res/addons or in the FFX mod folder ?

Viele danke Locke ... I am gona give this one a try

Howdy ! I am too often facing a ktm addon error message when starting both mutli and single player mission and this actually causes MP missions not to start on my server Could anyone be kind enough to give me a link for a working ktm or a trick so that it works ? Thanx

Good suggestion. Obviously "covering fire" is badly handled in OFP1. I would really appreciate the AI to hide or rush for cover when fully under fire instead of keeping firing while fully exposed to enemy fire. While suggesting things, I would vote for a better "management" of unofficial addons and mods. I would love to see an efficient (made in BIS) addon manager that would automatically offer me the opportunity to download a missing *.pbo file while starting a third party mission. Unofficial addons and missions are probably the key to the lasting success of OFP1 because BIS provided good pieces of software to design missions and addons. However, it is too often a nightmare to collect all the required files to have a third party mission to work properly on an OFP server for instance. Waiting for OFP2 ... but still enjoying OFP1 on a weekly basis

Hi there - I pick up this topic a bit late but greetings must go (once again) to our AvonLady for quoting such post. WWII was unfortunately a worlwide war, thus making it highly complex, and can't be summed up with a bunch of actions such as Omaha. I guess every single action, including Resistance for instance, was a step forward, a step for peace. Regarding USA and France as very nationalistic countries, it's probably true, however not at all in the same manner. I guess it is too much a political issue to be discussed here, however I wish I could see the USA respecting a bit more the U.N. organization. Peace trought the United Nations Organization was one of the reasons why hundreds of thousands young men died during WWII. Not respecting U.N. decisions is a bit like not respecting those who sacrificed their lives at that time and this includes, British, US, Germans, Spannish, Italians, French,...citizens and soldiers. By the way, I am French and I am far from hating US people; and you can take for granted that I share this feeling with many other Frenchies

So, no ideas of what are those "Frame rate" and "Visual quality" bars for ??
-
My config works fine with OFP at 1280x1024 aniso 4X, view distance 2200 meters, cloudlets and shadows ON and Terrain detail : normal. 70 fps on average BTW, I have always been wondering what was the impact of sliding the "Frame rate" and "Visual quality" bars ??
-
Sounds really good indeed. Just wondering if we will have a chance to play this campain in multiplayer or "simply" a single player only ?
