    Tanks DLC Feedback

Didnt search this first..so ignore if its been asked for 100000 times. Consider it a vote then. In this DLC, PLEASE add active defense systems for Armor. Thanks.
  2. Evidence: Game does not fully use all four cores limiting cycles for AI processing (not to mention no hyperthreading support) Evidence: Game engine AMAZINGLY not designed for 64bit OS thus having access to all RAM. Why? You know why. Also, as a Operation Flashpoint till now player, I really really really dislike the greek isle locale and futuristic era chosen. Why not current battlefields modern weapons? So much to chose from (IRAQ, SYRIA, UKRAINE, RUSSIA, USA, CHINA, on and on.) yet we get weird nations, weird weapons, and goofy locations.
  3. Sometime during the past few updates (I dont know which one) it seems as though some of the sounds arent centered correctly. particularly, the sounds of my footfall or crawling sounds like its coming from the rear in my G35 headset....not from "center". A) Is anyone else having this issue? B) Is there any way to adjust this? Thanks

    Arma3beta MultiPlayer FPS drop

I have this problem as well. Im on a Win7 64 bit 8GB RAM GTX680SLI rig on an OC'ed i5-2500k at 4.6Ghz. Single player is fine and some MP servers are fine. Every now and then I am on a server that does this (depicted in your video). I defragged my HD, have the game on a 10000 RPM RAID 0, and checked all my settings on my LAN and NIC.
  5. I have this too. Only on some servers though. It will stutter every 4-5 seconds. Other servers in ARMA3 are fine. SP offline is fine.
  6. Maybe I missed it but you do have a 64bit OS with at least 8GB ram with that beast of a PC correct? If not, theres your likely problem.
  7. I think you need to get into a 64bit OS so games can have as much RAM as possible without having to share 3.6GB with the OS. This is very important I have found with FPS in ARMA 2 and 3.

    Fatigue effects

I like the blurring to simulate being exhausted. I really hope it stays as a forced model. I always prefer games to have robust options but in this case, it makes perfect sense when you run uphill too long or gas yourself to suffer tremendously for that. Thanks BIS. ---------- Post added at 03:55 ---------- Previous post was at 03:53 ---------- Seriously?? Wow. Im sorry but it hurts your eyes?? Seriously?? A deal breaker?? C'mon. Get real.

    Beta stuttering

Same issue here. Tried to defrag. No luck. I have i5-2500k OC'ed to 4.6GHZ and GTX680s in SLI on 8MB RAM.
  10. Im using a Logitech 7.1 headset. Just want to report that the sounds of my players footfall as I run only seems to be coming from rear speakers. Shouldnt that be the one sound the plays across all speakers? Also, please make the sound of enemy soldiers (especially those wearing gear) louder when they run around or are very close trying to creep up. Thanks.

    ACE for OA 1.13

Thanks. Havent really noticed it like it is depicted in the video.

    ACE for OA 1.13

Sorry if this has been asked for before (just ignore it), but I was curious to know if there was consideration and or discussion for adding in small dust clouds being kicked up by weapons being fired on sand or dirt? Here is a link showing it in action:
  13. Anyone know anything about how to use the 3D Sound configuration on TS3 (when you right click on a server you are connected to in TS3)? I can hear people talking all around me in various speakers to the rear and or side or front depending on where they are (as it should be) but once I connect to ARMA and ACRE, I only hear them in the FRight, FLeft, and Center speakers. If they are directly behind me ingame, their voice comes out of the front center speaker. If I shut down ARMA while they are talking, their voice comes out of the rear speaker.
  14. I have latest TS3 and ACRE 1.4.7 I get 7.1 surround sound in ARMA2 while at the same time....ACRE only comes out of front three speakers (no surround sound for direct proximity chat). So if someone is talking behind me, its comes out of front center speaker. If at the same time, a helo flew over me the rear speakers would depict the helo flying past and behind me...with no change to the direct chat - still center for channel for person talking. If I turn off ARMA and go back to desktop, but remain in TS3, and am connected to the same server channel, I can hear chat from people on various speakers even behind me etc. Seems like something breaks once ARMA runs.
  15. I use Steam and have full arma 2 and all addons and OA on it and no problems. I hope people get it at the cut price...whatever it takes for more $ to end up in BIS' hands Im all for. Id buy it all but I own it all. Might buy a copy for my brother...hmmm...
  16. http://jonpeddie.com/reviews/comments/arma-2-review-a-tale-of-wasted-flops ARMA 2 Review:A tale of wasted FLOPS Posted by Ted Pollak and Robert Dow on February 10th 2011 | For the uninitiated, ARMA 2 is widely known amongst Enthusiast PC Gamers as one of the most system intensive and realistic games on the market. This is so because the environmental effects are dynamic, view distance can be set to 10,000 meters and is affected by light, reflection, rain, and mist. As in real life if you are walking thought the forest with the sun in front of you, the terrain can take on a shadowed nightmare as your retinas struggle with both light and darkness. Additionally there is what is known as the "the sandbox element." Sandbox games can be setup for unscripted play where you do not know where the enemy is coming from. It's no coincidence that PC Gamer Magazine hosts an ARMA 2 server among only two other games hosted by the magazine. We decided to test this beast on some of our hottest hardware, and unfortunately, the results were what I expected. ARMA 2, and many other advanced simulations, are "bound" to the CPU and do not properly utilize the power of modern day graphics processing units; which is probably why the GPU suppliers never use them as benchmark examples. We ran a number of graphics settings combinations, at various common gaming resolutions. We ran these tests on enthusiast and performance AIB's and found that, in the case of Nvidia-based AIBs, there was little performance variation between a $350 GPU and a $550 GPU – and we got similar results with AMD AIBs. The GTX570 and GTX580 are almost in a dead heat on average performance across all benchmarks, as measured in FPS using the in-game FPS counter. Yet the GTX580 has 176 Gigaflops more computing power (1581 vs. 1405). We even tested the GTX560 (1262 Gigaflops) in a few scenarios and there was still no significant drop in performance. To put this in perspective a Playstation 2 is capable of about 3.5 Gigaflops. It's almost like having 91 PS2's just sitting around watching us sweat and not helping! Well get to work you little buggers! I think it is high time for simulation and advanced PC gaming companies to write CPU/GPU load balancing code into their products. Simulation gamers often have the best equipment, spending well over $2,500 on their machines. If Bohemia Interactive were to write such engine code and supply it with some kind of expansion pack, it'd be a hit. In fact let's not stop at games. Adobe didn't. During my recent installation of Premiere Essentials I was asked if I had Nvidia GPUs in my system so that the software could use the available cycles on those chips. Let's start this kind of thinking for games as well, and let's make it brand agnostic. Granted since I'm not a programmer, I don't know the complexity of what I am asking for, so any comments from those in the know would be welcome. If you play these types of games and are building a system, here's my advice if you do not have unlimited budget. Focus on the motherboard, CPU, CPU cooling, and hard drive for your initial investment. Those things are harder to upgrade. A current performance level (i.e. mid level) gaming GPU is all that is needed and super easy to upgrade later. Our test rig was running Win 7 64 on a Core i7 x980 3.33 GHz with 4 gigs of RAM. What do we think? There have been tens of thousands of forums posts of people trying to unlock the secret to increasing this game's performance. In fact an entire benchmark has been created called ArmaMark and thousands of people have run it with many posting their scores. One of the popular Nvidia tweaks is to force VSync off and increase pre-rendered frames. (this helped me). Believe it or not one of the AMD tweaks is to rename the executable Crysis.exe??? There are even settings that increase performance when graphical complexity is increased. Totally counter-intuitive; I am still a bit perplexed myself but hope that game engine designers can write engines to survey system usage on the fly, and dynamically change the threading so as to load balance the game. From my relatively primitive viewpoint, a FLOP is a FLOP.

    exThreads

Question, according to CPU-Z my QX6850 quad core has 4 threads. Why then does the game seem to run better on 7 threads then say 5? And I dont think there is a setting for 4 threads is there?
  18. I read somewhere that you need to also enable camera shake. Do a search. Someone was talking about this thing.
  19. Wow! DLing now. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU GUYS (and gals if there are any)!!! Great going!

  21. All you have to do is incrementally drop the ingame AA setting down until the snow disappears and the game looks great again. You dont have to change the AToC setting. In my game, I dropped my AntiAliasing setting from 7 down to Very High and back to normal.
  22. For me, using AA in this game with AToC on my GTX560Ti means I have to dial down AA from 7 or whatever it was to Very High or else it looks like there is white snow on the trees and the ground. Once I hit V High setting, it looks nice and normal.
