    Faces of War [WW2]

Thanks, I appreciate it! I might do a mission or two for this, but preferably on a custom map that is more suitable to the theme than the stock or ArmA 2 maps. I did notice that mod releasing but I haven't personally tried it actually. If I remember correctly I saw a video and the death screams weren't quite what I was looking for and wanted something more like RO2. It is taking it's toll on me though :D I did a new video playing as the Japanese, mounting what I thought was a hopeless defense against the US Marines on Betio:

Had a quick go at a simple firefight on Bystrica between the UK troops and the Wehrmacht :)

Why more content how about fixing major issues first

Guys, do remember that not everybody at BIS can work on the engine. You've got people in many different departments, and you can't expect texture artists or modelers or what-else-have-you to try and improve the framerate on the engine level. Those guys can't sit on their ass forever, so why not create more content, especially if that extra content funds continued work on the engine by other people of the team?
  4. I continued on with Elite Force as well, going for the Food Wall Restaurant now:

    Squad (PR:BF2 Devs)

Horrible sound? Really? I really like the sound. Animations could be better, the desert maps are a little ugly, but if you get a squad the radio system makes communication with publics extremely easy. Some gameplay from last night:

Thanks, I appreciate that kathykit! Someone on youtube requested another video so here it is: a video on creating a custom .sqf so you can have a cutscene later on in the mission.

A short video for a system I used in one of my longer missions:
  9. I'm willing to help out too. I have a pretty good mic so I can record clean sound, and I've done quite a bit of voice-overs in the past too.

The most important part of making a mission: playtesting, and iterating on our findings!
  11. Ah yeah, I see it. That could've been it! Who knows what the laptop of that pervert might hold... ugh. :P
  12. Well, I downloaded the 3.2 version Sheriffs Special Forces mod. Not sure if that was the latest one. But when I try to run it, it says it needs to update but it can't find anything. And looking around online, that's the last update I can find too. And yeah, I was wondering about that score. I did get the suspects weapon and I don't think there would be any bags of drugs there, though there might have been.
  13. I gave it a go the other day, though the first mission of it's restructured campaign isn't much of a challenge. Still, it's interesting to see some of the changes:

I made a video tutorial series for the Eden Editor

It's been a while since I did any ArmA 3 related stuff but it's time to get back onto that horse. I started a new video series for the Eden Editor which is going to result into a playable mission for everyone to enjoy. This video is not a tutorial exactly, though this mission is simple enough that I can move forward with some speed and without too many mistakes. This series is not intended to be a step by step how-to, but it is definitely educational as you get to follow along my entire thought process in creating the mission. It is however also meant to be set up in such a way that I can make a mistake and figure things out as I go along. So without further ado, here is the video. Please like and subscribe if you wish to see more! :)

I made another behind the scenes video, this time of a mission that is a lot simpler in it's setup. Hopefully that will make it easier to follow and be more helpful in that regard:

I made a video tutorial series for the Eden Editor

Thanks mate, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I wasn't sure if this idea would catch on, because it could be educational but it's not quite meant to be a tutorial, because there's too many interactions to really explain. It took me 25 hours to figure out after all, and to try and retrace my own logic a month or so later AND explaining it logically and coherently is rather hard haha. So I thought maybe people would think "What's the point?" Another idea I've had that I might try out in the future is to make a video series that sits somewhere in the middle of a tutorial and this video, where I basically make a mission but one that might not be so 'step by step', since I might have to figure out some things as well as I go along. That would be a lot more educational than this I think, but doesn't require me to be perfect. Of course I'd put in some breaks while I figure things out, but most likely some trial and error would be required.

This is not exactly a tutorial, but a behind the scenes look at what Operation Flaming Eagle looks like, which is the most complex mission I've ever made. It cost me about 25 hours to do. Let me know what you think and if you'd like to see more videos like this!

Infantry vs Vehicles - What do you prefer?

What makes OFP/ArmA great is the feeling of being a small cog in a big machine. Without vehicles, there is no machine. That being said, I only play infantry-centred missions. I play infantry in every game whenever I can, and in games like Company of Heroes too. The lack of tanks in my army composition there usually costs me my head, but something about vehicles always feels so soulless to me. That, and I like infantry tactics and the tension of CQB situations for infantry. Ambushing mighty war machines as a puny meatbag is fun though. I love me an underdog. I always play as the most basic grunt. In games like Red Orchestra I practically never touch SMG's, MG's etc. I stick with my trusty bolt action rifle and bayonet :D
