Six Updater: Install/Update mods, missions. Delta patching. Server browser, and more!

Got issue I cant really explain and that is taking my friend helluva time. Friend is using Six Updater for the first time and trying to download ACE from it. However, when he tries to either convert it or of course install, he gets an error that there is GUID Mismatch and then all possible servers cannot be connected with the message in bottom window: And it goes on with dozens of other server. He tried reinstalling, some configuration, but nothing works. Can you explain me this? -
Seeking for volunteer to create a smaller group

Well, I created this topic to ask if anyone would be interested in helping out with such a project. I would aim to create a smaller, circa 10 men rather closed group focusing on realistic combat experience (ACE, ACRE, realistic tactics etc.) and in the same moment with avoidance of ranks, multigaming, massive combat etc. Basicly, just bunch of lads who would like to play something realistic, hopefully something original, because I would aim into something more original (not US/UK for most of the time, mixed historical and realistic missions, maybe sometimes a little roleplay etc.). Also, it could be a good start for new players in Armaverse, I would explain usage of ACE, how this game works et cetera... We basicly have 4 men constantly playing every Friday, but as you may imagine it is not enough to play even something smaller. If you would be interested and free (not aligned to other groups :P), please write here or on PM of mine, good (and teamworked!) souls are always appreciated! -

I am sorry if that issue was mentioned before, although my friend experiences strange problem. He has ACRE and JayArmA2Lib installed correctly (I've checked it recently) and it does work, because we can hear each other on the radio. Trick is, he cannot hear us in 3d chat. We do, but he always hears us "overseas" if you now what I mean :P Also, we can hear him properly. Both 3d chat and radio. What could cause this bug, as I am using ACRE for months and didnt encounter it before? -

It is likely. Dunno if you have played Flashpoint, but explosion of vehicle in vanilla game was present in at least dozen other productions :P -

What exactly you expect from missionmaker? I am polish and feel climate of Taviana. I would also propose you making army of Taviana, however as far as I know you search for 3d modelers for that? In this case,I just cant help you out with this. -

Well, there is no reason why should I be angry at you :) Trick is I am not making 3d models for this game yet and I have to borrow them from the beginning from other authors. I have decided on ACE for number of possibilities. I will write non ACE config in upcoming days, but expect some of the units to be cut off completely. At the moment there are ... 444 units in whole mod. Most likely Weapon Teams will be removed, same with BTRs and T-72s. This will all decrease the content and I cant do a shit about it right now. Also, forget rangefinders for snipers, bandages and medkits from the beginning for medics, vehicles with FCS that ACE offers etc. But well, resigning from ACE configuration means the resign of all its already implemented features. -

As I said, I consider such a solution, however it would equal eg. T-72B and BTR-70 removal. Also, some of the units would have drastically decreased equipment variety. -

A month after release an update comes in! 2008 infantry has been completely redone, retextured from scratch, I hope it now looks better that previous one: Also, there is now all-in-one config, which shall allow me to edit any config bugs or add new units more freely. In case something is not working I can re-release just a 0,5mb config file, what saves a lot of bandwidth, right? I am also considering non-ACE version of the config, but I will not confirm that at the moment. About ACE... I consider it as best basis going here and around, providing me much more possibilities than vanilla game and any other core modifications (well, there are no such in fact). I have more realistic design from very beginning, greatest variety of units, scripts already implemented which increase realism and much much more. I am looking for most realistic (as it is said in first post) recreation of Georgian Army and not only, even in cost of lesser interest in the mod... and simply ACE gives me that possibility, because it is not just about the units. So, at the moment no ACE version is not planned. if you really like you can use it, but you would have no T-72s and BTRs then and I guess you would have to rearm most of the units... About Vilas and his addons, or I would rather say... controversial decisions of his. No, it is not a place for flame wars that would definitely start out yet today if I said the reason. -

Half of the weapons used in the mod came with ACEX like AKM, AKMS, SKS, AK-74M etc. It will be affected much more then. @madmusti - Yes, modelling is not that easy, especially APCs which need extra modelled interior also :) My only model I made for ArmA II was bottle of water, I could do probably some statics, MAYBE easier vehicles, but I will not promise anything for now. -

Excellent effort rather on your side PvPscene! I was never config master and the improvements are really helpful! I don't know however when I will implement them, as soon I think about one big config file as eg. Project 85 has, for easier fixed and additions. I guess I will put everything into one you provided me and test it out. I have also found bug messages when main menu appears, this is: 1. Garbage in T-72 config, Turrets class was still provided and hooking around, fixed already 2. There is no DsHKM minitripod for ChDKZ what causes more bugs. Will be fixed tomorrow and soon updated. Both messages however should not affect actual mod. -

Was the T-72M actually necessary? You see, AFAIK they use no T-72, just Chonma-Ho variants (IV should be newest one) and one and only MBT: Pookpoong-Ho (or the way it is written), a variation of T-72,80,90. DPRK also doesn't really use body armor, however I can understand it. Good work mate! -

One quick question: Does Panthera work on typical servers? We have issues with this on our server: missions using Panthera simply kick out to mission selection, we are not even able to get to slot selection. When starting it on normal, private host everything works just fine. -
