    It seems consistent across all HMMWV's but was NOT consistent with STRYKERs. The STRYKER ICV's hover, but the STRYKER-AT's and STRYKER-Mk19's do not. I have not looked for the effect outside of Evolution. That's about all I'm playing at the moment.

    CONFIRMED: with the following commandline: E:\Games\ArmA\beta\arma.exe -mod=beta;@CSL_McN_DESERT_VEHICLE_REPLACEMENTS -nosplash when connecting to an Evolution 1.5 server, I see the HMMWV's hovering about 10 feet up when connecting to the server. Two other friends have said that they've seen the same thing on the same server. A friend and I discussed this while we were trying to troubleshoot the issue and thought that, if the Evolution server wasn't configured to use the Desert Vehicle Replacements as well, that could account for the difference in the way the vehicles are displayed. Is that correct?

    CSL: during this afternoon/evening's multiplayer session, I confirmed that the CSL_McN_DESERT_VEHICLE_REPLACEMENTS mod was causing HMMWV's and Strikers to appear 10-15 feet up in the air. As soon as I disabled the mod, they were in the correct position. I will take some time to try and isolate the offending .pbo tomorrow.

    That looks like an attempt to show the depth of the water but, based upon the soldier in your picture, doesn't look like it works as intended.

    The UH-1 Iroquois (AKA Huey) has been out of service with the US Army for about 20 years now. It was quickly replaced with the UH-60 Blackhawk. The Marines are the only ones that still use any at all (AFAIK) and, according to FAS.org, only have around 100 left in inventory.

    I am using Vista but since I've only heard a vague description of the issue which I haven't experienced myself (although, from what I hear, it can take 4 hours or more for the issue to cause a CTD), I figured I'd ask. Sorry to have troubled you with my "laziness"

    Best solution to TK'ing I've ever seen has to be the 'Banana-Phone' Barracks that are in Evolution. That 'ring, ring, ring, ring, BANANA PHONE!' thing is funny for about ten seconds and then you've learned your lesson. Banana Phone For the WIN! (dammit...finally had that song outta my head and now it's BACK AGAIN!

    I've been playing under Vista...was the handle leak an issue there too? If so, any word from ATI on when a Vista patch will be issued?

    How about 40mm smoke? Even better: the IRIC (Infrared Illuminator Cartridge) It'd be great for marking targets for friendly air/ground!

    Not sure that it'd be your Catalyst drivers causing this...I ran just fine in Vista Ultimate 32 with both the Catalyst 7.4's and 7.5's

    A friend and I were playing with three of your replacement packs last night on both 1.06 and 1.07 servers. Â No errors during multiplayer, although both of us saw several vehicles with the desert vehicle replacement skins floating 10-20 feet up in the air. Â It occurred on multiple servers, running various Evolution versions. Â More details here: .Why is that HMMWV up in the sky?? any chance your work could be affecting this? Â Haven't tried removing them yet because, frankly, I don't see how a client-side graphics mod affects server synch

    Definitely in their own mod folders. I'll try removing one at a time and see which, if any, seems to be the troublemaker.
  15. Hi all - did a search but didn't have any luck finding the info I'm after. Earlier tonight, a buddy and I joined up for some multiplayer action after loading the Desert US and OPFOR vehicle textures. Both of us noticed upon joining several Evolution or ®Evolution servers that the base where you start had vehicles floating some 10-20 feet above the ground and, in some cases, building textures missing (most notably, the hangars). We stuck around on one server for awhile and I was able to get into a HMMWV that had been floating and it came down to ground level for me. My buddy joined shortly after I got into the vehicle and, to him, the vehicle was still floating mid-air. When he entered the vehicle it went underground from his perspective, but I still saw it on the ground normally. When I exited the vehicle, he saw it rise to the normal ground level. There were clearly a number of synchronization issues - we're just both wondering if it's related to the textures, although both of us are confused how a user-side graphics mod would affect server synchronization. Any help gladly accepted!

    walker - thanks for the response. Â I don't think that's it, though. Â We tried playing on a number of different servers (at least 5, some running the 1.07 beta, others 1.06), including a few that we had played on last weekend. I can say conclusively that the ones we played on last weekend did not have the floating HMMWV's then and did tonight.

    1.07 Cannot create system memory

    Confirmed here too. System specs: Intel C2D E6400 2GB DDR-II ATI X1950XT-256 PCI-E Windows Vista Ultimate Issue disappears when I use the -maxmem=512. Changing the -maxmem to any value greater than 512 will cause the issue to appear fairly rapidly using the ArmA Mark benchtest. The higher the value, the more quickly ArmA Mark will CTD. There also appears to be some relationship between the CTD and using higher graphics settings. I thought it started occurring when I turned my Terrain Texture up to High, but I cannot confirm.
