etqw was just an example, We run lots of other games, I used ETQW because right now its the most demanding game we run on our servers. Even when we have less than 100 people on the server, say maybe 75, the performance is the same. The FPS of the server only goes up to 50 when there are only 5-6 people on the server, it immediatly drops drastically when 7-10 or more get on it.
-
in game FPS is reporting 4, the windows box is doing the same thing, but worse. We run a tournament that puts just over 100 people on the server at once, the mission we are running on it is a basic capture and defend map.

not jumping to conclusions Just wondering if they are working on making the netcode better. Right now the CPU usage on a 2xdual core 1218 box is over 200%, not good. I can run ETQW on that same box full of clients at 20% CPU usage.

Is there any word on whether or not BI is going to improve the netcode for the linux build?

Any word on server netcode?

OK, MyInternetServices.com runs a Tournament for ArmA called ICArmA. Great tournament. Love the idea of having the linux server up but we are having issues with the netcode. The battles usually last about 4hrs and these past 2 weekends 1 to 1.5hrs into the battle alot of people are getting disconnected with the red/orange chain icon. The server is in Texas, 2xDual core 1218's 2GigRAM, Cent OS 4.5 When we use the monitor command in the server get 4FPS, 90MB of memory, on the server when everyone is loaded in(about 100people). When I look at the CPU usage, it shows 147% Any suggestions on how to improve this?

We have been getting complaints of the server becoming unplayable after about 40min, anyone else?
-
Linux uses alot less memory and CPU to run the server, therfore the savings get passed on to the client(cheesy GSP comment)
-
Can anyone tell me how to specify a specific IP address for the server to run on? Also, does anyone know the query protocol?

ya thats the page i am looking at

We are having the same issues(Floating point exception), 2x Dual Core AMD Opteronâ„¢ Processor 275, 2GB RAM, running CentOS release 4.5 (Final) 64bit processors, but I believe its a 32bit OS install
