nubbin77, are you shure that all files from nvidia drivers are out of your system? Sometimes switching from ATI to Nvidia or the opposite, can cause some issues if the old driver is not properly erased.

I have that black srcreen followed by a restart or ctd also. But sometimes its after playing arma for 10 mins other 1 hour, and sometimes i can play for 2 hours without any problem (most of the times i dont have any problem). I also play with fraps on, and tried to reduce the cpu speed from 4.5ghz to 4.050 and i stil have the black screen sometimes. Cant tell whats the problem.

Don't give up yet. Try to test the card in another computer, go here http://www.nvidia.com/content....rl=http and download the system tools, try to monitor ur card temperature in load, maybe there's a bad contact between ur card and the cooler.

Im using Vista Ultimate 32bits, drivers 177.39, multiplayer (coop), 1680x1050, when i had the 9800gx2 i tried to play with my tv 38" 1920x1080 but it was too big made my head hurt. About the Vapochill, i bought a used unit for 250 euro. The best hardware that i ever had that's for sure.

If it helps, i have a Nox Pulsar 750W.

Sickboy im using the gtx280 with a yorkfield at 4.5ghz (Vapochill Lightspeed), everything is maxed, except for the AA witch i have at "Normal", and it never goes below 50 fps, even in the north forest. Finally to be honest.

Got my gtx280 yesterday and i can say that its just amazing, i used to have a 9800gx2 but the 280 is so much powerfull, even playing in north saharani in the forest in multiplayer, the card never goes down. Im using fraps to see the fps and she never goes below 50, and everything maxed out, minus AA witch i set to "normal". Much better card than my 9800gx2.

Well guys, talking about drivers for the 8800gtx, the ones that i use for some time now are 100.87 (winxp 32bit), finally im able to play the game. Not in a perfect way but i with these ones i get the best performance/quality ratio. Im not using the beta patch, still in 1.05. Please check them and give some feedback. My comp is a E6600 oc at 3.6ghz, 2gigs ram and the 8800gtx.

I have the same problem. Had it with my ATI x1800xt and still have it with a Nvidia 8800gtx.

If it's horrible why dont u do a better one? I would like to see that. I have the patch and no key texts in the control section that are BLANK. U must have done something wrong.

Well Bishop, i finished that mission twice and i always leave the ai soldiers outside the urban area and do the cleaning by myself, not very realistic but it works. Very nice missions Snake, thanks for the campaign!
