  1. Funny he wants to blame ArmA, instead of his pc.

Topic should be named... "ArmA found an issue in the way I have my pc confiqured"

    Yeah, real funny.

I have the same problem and I'm going to have to go out on a limb and say that I have my shit wired up pretty tight.

Did you even read the messages on this thread?  He said that he tried all driver versions.  Your post contributes nothing.  It contains no information, helpful or otherwise.  The problem was not with how he was going about troubleshooting, but the fact that he was being an abrasive asshole.  Now that we've lost him, thank god we have you to pick up the slack.

Oh my...guess your needing advice on your "tight setup"?

And now it's obvious as to why you already have warnings.

Feel free to pm me if needed wink_o.gif

  2. If he really wants to fix the prob..lets just start with basic posibilities.. i.e video drivers....

Get this driver sweeper..it's easy to use.

    Driver Sweeper

    1st unistall video drivers from add/remove prog~

Reboot in safemode and run it...tell it to ONLY remove video drivers. Reboot again to normal desktop..when/if windows tries to install anything for video..tell it NO.

Now you can install the latest drivers for your system from:

    Nvidia drivers

Once we know that has been done..and if your problem still occurs..we can then suggest some tweaks.

It's up to you if you want to fix it..or just complain about it.

  3. Hi to all,

I'm getting a new pc soon but i'm wondering if it will played on vista 64Bit or would i be better sticking to 32Bit to play the game?

    Bacon

Yes to 64bit (not everyone can say this though).

I have to use the -maxmem=512 tweak.

SLI is really nice, but not stable, so I have it disabled in it's profile for now.

If you get the upgrade version of Vista Ulimate64, it should also come with the 32bit cd....so you can try both.

  4. Sickboy,

Maybe its b/c I'm using 64bit and you 32... but I've tried all your suggestions.. and many more. The ONLY thing that lets me play at all on 1 VC... is the  -maxmem=512.

Any other settings..either VC gives up or ArmA gives up... in long games.

With the ONLY thing that helps me and sli/off.. I have ran ArmA for 9 straight days playing EVO, (minimized while at work).. without any issues at all.

When ArmA will do that with my SLI on... I will have an orgasm!  wink_o.gif

    Hi smile_o.gif

Current Forceware drivers do not enable SLI in Arma. You can however, fool the drivers by making it think you're running a SLI-enabled game by renaming arma.exe to fear.exe (FEAR has been reported as a stable SLI-profile for Arma).

I think you can use the same method for ATI's Crossfire. wink_o.gif

Thx..but that was part of the "many more attempts" I tried.

Yes it did work..how long..I do not know after 30 mins b/c it was actually horrible looking on night time maps and using NV goggles. After trying ingame settings with it..I gave up.

  6. but you have to tell them NVDA and ATI about the issues, NOBODY from NVDA comes to this fourm to read about 8xxx game issues and they never will...

    Totaly right !

But some of us bitch in the nvidia sli forums smile_o.gif

I actually report....erm, bitch to Vista Quality Assurance more, hoping they will get it right before my time on this planet ends.

ArmA is really sweet those 10 mins or less it last..with sli on. (158.24 whql)

Don't get me wrong...sli/off is still impressive.

162.22 & 163.11 beta, will not enable sli for me and seems several have the problem. Otherts don't.

Maybe the soon released WHQL 162.22 promised, will help. rofl.gif did i say soon?

  7. This is from the 1st post,

    Quote[/b] ]For SLI-users:

Current Forceware drivers do not enable SLI in Arma.

The current drivers do infact enable SLI under the ArmA.exe profile. The prob I found...once you set it to single gpu...it will not give you the option to go back to SLI. I have to reinstall the drivers to get it back crazy_o.gif

    Using 158.24 whql
