Those cheaters are creating it as we speak

I have seen the same thing Kevlar is seeing, on ocassions. If I set my game res to 2560x1600. (1920x1200 is best I can get out of it) If I set all settings to max. A few beta drivers from nvidia have cuased it, including 162.22whql. (I'm staying w/158.24 for now) Not using -maxmem=512 with/without any of the above. I can reproduce his error (pic) at anytime with WRONG settings and or drivers. .....but he will prob think this is another "pointless" post

Actually you may have somthing..but do not uninstall DX10!! I do keep DX9 updated also b/c of 3dmark06. Other than that I've done, Vsync forced off. -maxmem=512 no SLI. ArmA plays with no issues.

This is all true. But as an admin...I choose to deal with those issues just to keep a few of the cheaters out...and we luv catching the new ones.:) Updates are not that frequent...and on bad days, "pb updating"...I just temporarely disable it. Not only is there PB, but the PsB (PunkSbusted) system. It is only used on 13 pc titles and their sub/categories, but there are over 9 million guids tracked, with close to 63,000 bans! Now if you think it causes that much "lag", why is there over 4600 servers using it? Becuase it does help!

Your setup should play as/if not better than mine. (until sli works solid) You are using 32bit..a + for ArmA. Other things I've added, Dual Core Optimizer from AMD. Rarely used, but if I start getting glitches in games..enabling it stops those. Have you tried set affinity with either game? I'm not having to...but this is a weird pc I have.

Have you tried the -maxmem=512 tweak?

Are you talking about after viewing the map, or respawning... the graphics take 1-2 secs to fully load? (looking straight down loads them fastest for me) I see that ocasionally, I believe it's a driver issue still being worked on by nvidia. With some of the older drivers I never seen it.

I wish I could play at 2560x1600 as my desktop is.. but no way. 1920x1200 is max for me w/ArmA..or else CTD's start happening. And 60hz is the only setting for the Dell 30in.

Wrong, It takes 2 gts to beat 1 gtx.

I haven't seen that error since the 158.*** drivers were released.

Just played a DTB Heavy for 2.5 hrs. I must say Job Well Done! Minor bug we seen... me as team leader (east team) purchased a couple bmp's manned...took the money..but never spawned. It was such a blast even though it was a 2 hr spanking we took. Keep it coming,

Ragdoll affects are pretty cool in games like RavenShield....but thats just a 16 player game, I don't think I could last with 1000 ragdolls.

After playing mfcti for so many years...and now beta testing mfcti for arma (by blinkster).. I see a major speed difference.. I play/ed both at the same time, just alt-tabing between the 2. And I was comparing..walk/run/vehicles ect. Not only a "faster feel"...but lots smoother. My .02

uhh...i think i said that earlier..but didn't mean no harm (as others "thought") I'm glad he listed his specs..so suggestion could be offered. It was the name of this topic that bugged me. I've never purchased a pc title that was the cause of a critcal error...aka BSOD!!

It's really easy to setup servers to allow which mods they want to have on individual servers. So.. no worries for the modding community. I would have said no if I didn't know of this.

PB stops cheats, but not ALL of them. Overtime new cheats do get added. They are able to issue hardware bans for tampering with the PB software. AMBL (Automatic Master Ban List) is a great tool to keep servers upto date.
