    American Civil War Mod v.1.2 released.

    O.K we're back. I'm still working on this MP version of the "Virginia". the "Monitor" somehow doe'snt show dammage when hit but does in fact take damage! Host/client probs? were not sure so I might release the whole thing the way it is. the Hampton roads mission is done, both single and MP versions. I will release a pack of stuff in a day or 2. It will include all updated missions,  ships, and  Mp missions. stonewall

    Right on Triglav! maybe we wont see "he who shall not be named" again for another year. Hopefully more. plus he was NEVER the "leader" of the Mod, like you said ,he came in and just said he was taking over. He never delivered anything  or contributed anything to this Mod. I dont mind intellegent people like Jdb posting here. It makes me wonder what is safe and what is'nt in the modding community when someone can steal or use whatever they want. Hard work does pay off though and I think a majority of the players know who has put the effort and dedication into certain projects. I can't believe Placebo gave "YOU" shit though....makes you wonder......... now back to some other stuff........... The "Hampton roads" mission is coming up. It's been on hold while I try to check on some config problems for the "virginia". There will be a single player mission and a MP version of this mission. stonewall

    There's no doubt that adding more lods etc helps the FPS but with the release of ver1.2 I think Trig and Co have accomplished that very well. On an average...each unit has 3 Res lods. I think ProfT says he has an average 5. Not sure how many you folks have. I used an average of 5 In my tests and was'nt getting much more FPS than Trigs units. Go with more? I'm not sure .......I think 3-5 is a good number. @Jackal.......Yes I know what he meant. As I stated before the CWmod Units are fine. stonewall

    What are you going on about Gavin? The experiment was to add more units to missions ...not make them run faster...lol CWmod units Have been proven to work just fine and are in fact very good. We'll have to work within the limitations of the engine for now till AA comes out. stonewall

    OFP Navy - Frigates

    Sorry .... I assumed you were using the "Cargo -Carrier" script from Smokedrib and Philcommando. I use these scripts for the guns on the "Virginia". I also had problems with Multiplayer and ended up making a seperate MP version of the boat. I have 10 guns attached to the ship. It works very well and so far no problems. I made all attached guns local to one machine in MP. so if the player was say east... only that computer would call the script (in my case the actionstation script). If I did'nt make it local I was seeing guns lagging behind the ship and double guns etc..... I've not seen guns lagging yet from the speed of the boat. Although my ships are only configed for a speed of 15 kph I've had them up to 30+ kph and still no problems. stonewall

    OFP Navy - Frigates

    make a "MP" version of the ship and add this to all the scripts for all the actionstations.sqs (if your using this script). ?side player==east && local player:goto "addgun" exit #addgun "the actionstation script" exit you might eliminate the double gun etc.......... I also changed the "ACARGO" variable etc..... to a local variable (so ....... _acargo) Â in both the config and the actionstation scripts. It's worked on ip-ip not sure bout dedicated though. also try "autocentre=0 or (1);" on the config of the "WEAPON". for other possible conflicts.     We'll I've been experimenting lately with Trigs units. Trying to see if I could squeeze out a couple of more units in a mission by adding more lods and less textures, etc. Fact is...... the units Trig made are fine and in fact very good. The experiment is done. back to other things ..... Hampton roads mission is almost done , but you'll have to download the new updates to the Virginia which I'll post in a day or so. Plus the MP version of the "Virginia" which no one has requested but We've been using and have tried to make as playable as possible. Petersburg map is almost done but still lags with all the entenchments. stonewall

    Thats what I'd like to do. Since at say 2-300 + yards you really don't have to have all that much detail. I've added more lods to 2 units now and am getting 120-150 men with very little lag. I still have not redone the textures though and maybe I can redo some textures and bump it up to say 200+ men. @profT ..... few vertices and faces  as well as plain textures is what I'll try. I'm gunna try it over the next few weeks and see what happens. stonewall

    I think The idea now is to have less detail in the infantry models. And say maybe 8-10 lods per model. not sure if this would work but I think that I'll try it out. Maybe we can have say 200 troops per side which would be good. Â Not sure if It's worth it, has anyone tried? stonewall

    It's there but the campaign was made for the 1.1 version of the mod hence the odd error message. If your into such things .....you can add this line in the mission.sqm file "CWConf", too the addons  section which is usually the first statements of the sqm file. add this line somewhere in the middle of the rest of the adddons. you can usually fix most error messages this way. CWConf.pbo should be in your CWmod folder under addons. if it not then you've likley installed the mod wrong. I believe you can still play the Campaign with these error messages but hav'nt checked that out yet. stonewall

    Well, alot of that stuff never made it onto the island, due to them either not being complete or not being placed on the island (not that much time was spent on the island as it was based on your island, so that saved alot of time). If you want to I can send you the bridge so you can add it to the map yourself... (I know nothing about editing an island) Ya send the bridge over to me................... Do you have a decent model of a train engine? ....I have an idea. Stonewall

    I checked it out briefly and I like what you did with my island. The tree's are a nice change and so is the grass. I did notice you also used my fences and bridge which was a bit of a dissapointment only because I thought that JDB had made another Stone Bridge and his model looked alot better than mine did. congrats on the release. stonewall ........formally known as Bigus_Dikus.
