For what purpose? Chavez is already losing a lot of his political credibility without any help from the US.

That's brilliant thinking, trevor! That must explain why he caved to the Democrats and booted Rumsfeld the day after the election! If anything, Bush will probably be open to compromise so that he can leave office with decent approval ratings. How, pray tell? The US's recent foreign policy adventures hardly compare to British or Roman imperialism. The scale is far too small, there's no attempt to install American culture, and so on. For starters, if the US was actually going to indulge in full-bore imperialism, why not invade Venezuela? They've got lots of oil, and there'd be no stomping on a hornet's nest of Islamic fanatics. Or if there was some pressing need to get Iraqi oil, why not just use to power of the Marines and Navy to capture the oil fields, set up a defensive screen, and simply pipe the oil to a harbor and bring it out through the Gulf? There'd be no need to pacify cities like Fallujah and Baghdad if the US was simply invading to gain resources. Not to mention, I'm pretty sure any self-respecting Roman would have been insulted if you thought America's Inspector Clouseau-quality Iraq adventure compared to the conquest of Europe, Asia Minor, Egypt, and North Africa. I'm just as saddened as you. Turn away from religion? You're asking this of a country where snake-handling is still considered an acceptable religious practice in some regions ? Not to mention that until three years ago, there were states where sex between gay men could be punished with 10 year jail sentences (Not to mention that under Idaho law, sodomy could theoretically be punished with a life sentence). It's not all that weird. Remember, the US was founded just a few hundred years ago by religious nuts with guns, so it's quite understandable that religious nuts with guns are still an important political force.

Absolutely not. In fact, I think I'll go to the OFP2 section now and post my demand for realistically modelled pubic hair. Who doesn't want that in OFP2?

Assuming it's for SP, you'd: 1. Create a script that constantly monitors the player's position. 2. Generate a circle of plants around the player (The generation script must also take constant scans of the area to prevent plant/pre-placed object overlap) 3a. Create a script for each plant that monitors for the player's position, and activates if the player gets close enough. The script will transmit the player's position relative to the plant, allowing for a trigonometric calculation of which direction the plant should move in. 3b. Create a script for each plant that monitors the wind direction. 4. Add any vectors for all plants from 3a and 3b, combine them, and use a huge range of preset object animations to create a mimicry of motion. Each plant would have to be animated individually, and it would probably take hundreds of preset animations to make motion look natural. 5. Any time the player moves at all, go back to step 2. 6. Listen as your CPU turns into a puddle of molten silicon. When it melts, buy a new one, then play Crysis, which has an engine specifically designed for the simulation of jungle environments. Edit: As an example, simply running around Tonal in the mission editor gobbles up a great deal of processing power. Creating a large mission on Tonal will severely tax the resources of pretty much any computer out there. Now, if the jungles on Tonal were composed of individual objects with impact scripts, instead of forest tiles, imagine what would happen... Edit2: When I was making plants for OFP, all I did was search up the name of the plant I wanted, get a high-res picture, cut out some leaves in PS, and build a new texture with them. It really isn't that hard, and unless you've found a source of LODs appropriate for the OFP engine, you're going to spend a great deal of time on texturing anyway.

I have seen an entire town perched on a mesa several hundred meters high . BTW, OFP2 had better have a real time editor like that one in VBS2, because that looked like an amazing tool.

    How can i edit init

Try this: [player,,,,"red",,,] exec "\wbe_tracerfx\wbe_tracerfx.sqs" My memory is a little rusty here, but if you use it this way the script should continue to use default values for everything that is not explicitly defined in the brackets.

    How can i edit init

First, this belongs in Mission Editing. To run the script in question, first make sure that your map editor is set to "Advanced" mode. Then, press F1 and double-click on the map to bring up the unit field. Find the Initialization box (A large, empty box in the middle of the box) and paste in the following: [player] exec "\wbe_tracerfx\wbe_tracerfx.sqs". Press OK and preview the mission, the script should now be running. Edit: Here's a pic of the unit editor. The field marked "Iniciacion" is the initialization field. Edit2: Another thing. The way that a OFP script works is that the script's array (Whatever is in the set of brackets before the exec command) is passed on to the script. For example, your script example requires a named unit ( [unitname] ). Therefore, if you've named a unit, you can type that name in instead of the generic "player" (In SP, your character is automatically named "player"). If you do this, the script will be carried out with that named unit as subject. By the way, to name a unit, you give it a short, specific name like "helo1" or "abrams3" and type that name into the field in the unit editor marked "name". Edit3: To edit a script and change how it functions, you simply open the script in Notepad or Wordpad and change it as desired. You should be able to find tutorials on this at OFPEC.

    Deployable HMGs?

Well, that system was problematic when you tried to deploy on pitched ground. Hopefully the increased power of ArmA's scripting engine contains some new commands which could be used to deploy tripods at the correct pitch. Well, just as an example, an M2 plus its tripod weigh ~60 kilos. So if modders keep it realistic, you'll always need a crew to deploy crew-served weapons.

Well, if you're not carrying your weapon openly, then yes. And it really doesn't matter if you think it's bullshit, because you'll be judged by those standards (Unless someone was to amend/modify the original Geneva Conventions). I agree, the idea seems silly in practice, but the peculiarities of the document don't render it invalid.

Calling the anti-Coalition forces "troops" is at best deception. The insurgents/foreign fighters are not uniformed and are not serving any governmental body. They're not under any formal command structure and many live amongst the civilian population. The only "Iraqi troops" that the US encounters are soldiers serving in the Iraqi armed forces. Whether the men fighting the Coalition are justified in their actions is irrelevant when it comes to deciding whether they are lawful combatants. From Wikipedia, here's the definition of a lawful combatant: The parts I've placed in boldface are the parts that are usually, if not always violated by insurgents and foreign fighters. American soldiers have also violated these at times, but that's why we have military courts. Not to mention, when American soldiers' misconduct is reported, we get a scandal, not a popular series of poorly filmed videos of Americans killing Iraqis while a preacher chants "Praise Jesus! Praise Jesus!" Either we aren't carrying out the same actions, or I've missed the Monday Night Football Pre-Game Beheadings.

    Where to buy ??

If languages are still handled like they were in OFP, then converting a version with German text/subtitles/labels to English is as easy as having a bilingual person edit the stringtable. Edit - But I'm not going to order a German version unless it's early November and there's still no news about online distribution.
