It sounds like you are on the right track. So it's hard to understand why it's not working. Ok, I'll tell you how to do it even if it sounds just like what your doing now. Make a squad. Make two waypoints. Make a Trigger sync it to the first waypoint. The squad will move to the first waypoint but will not do any of the commands given at the waypoint until the Trigger is hit. When the trigger is hit the squad will do the commands at the waypoint (Example: formation change) then move to the second waypoint and do the commands there. good luck

Great - I found out how to get 100% takeoff on the runway by AI. simply place a air unit (with AI) on the airfield with orders (waypoints ect.). Now place a second airplane (empty) right in front of him. The AI will start his engine but not move. When your ready to fly the mission just setpos the other aircraft out of the way.

Your going to make me tell you? Ok It's just a script of explosions. The plane just flys over and I use the ied.sqs script to make several explosions just where I want them. I'll check out the the Creat Vehical thing. If that doesn't work I'll see about having him fly around until needed. I'm not against it, it just seemed better to have him take off from the airport. I still don't understand why he only takes off sometimes.

This plane needs to be called late in the game. I can't have it flying around for 10 minutes waiting for the order to bomb. Thx anyway

Not sure what you want exactly but this should work. TRIGGER #1 opfor not present (by the way, this is a condition - and I think it seems to overide the condition line below) Onact opfordead = true TRIGGER #2 civilian not present Onact civildead = true Trigger #3 condition opfrordead and civildead This should work but there may be a much better way. If anyone has a quicker way I hope they post it.

I wish the controls were easier. There, I said it. BIS is making a complex game with many options. I've heard some complaining but very little explaining how to fix it. And the what suggestions I do see I don't like much. Maybe there is a better way to implement all the commands. Just don't take anything away. The key for me is to play the game until I know the keyboard. Good luck - pratice from the editor

Anyone else feel a bit put off by the controls?
Scillion replied to TheUser's topic in ARMA - GENERAL
I like the character movement ok, I noticed that the better your computer the more responsive the feel. The chopper controls have a larger learning curve this time but many people forget how odd they felt at first with OFP. Now they have a whole new feel. It's not just learning the controls, it's getting a feel for the motion and responce. I truely injoy flying and have practiced until I stopped crashing. Now I can land without computer help (not quickly though). I still need lots of practice but thats part of the fun. -
Joker if you'll notice, when you tell a guy to get healed he will go to the medic - not the other way around. So order you medic to walk next to you. Then look at him, a command icon should show up. If not you may need to look at him and scroll to the heal command. So you don't have him heal you - you command yourself to get healed just like you command yourself to reload or get in a car. Good Luck

Mr Murray's editing guide in english ?
Scillion replied to EricM's topic in ARMA - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
I liked the editing center where there were lots of example scripts on how to do many things. If I had a problem that I wasn't sure how to script I would check there first. The other scripts there gave me new ideas that I sometimes added to my mission. I wish we had a forum section just for scripts. Not to ask questions but just script after script. One script might be named unit patrols and another mission timer ect ect... A Dream P.S. I'm not going to ask every question I have about scripting on this forum. I would clog the forum. But this is a great place to search for answers and ask for help on some problems. -
If anyone does do this I would like to help by making the 3d image of my house. I'll do this only after seeing the images of the other houses on my street. If they're not done well my property value could go down.

70? I don't know if I have ever had 70 on any good FPShooter. I do like Frame Rate over pretty though. I plan to build a system in the next few months with simular specs. Your system, though a few months old is more than I can afford. I'll have lower cost memory, one hard drive and not have the ability to overclock as high. Trying to get a video card with dx 10. Hope it still runs pretty smooth. You might give us a few FPSecond from FRAPS. One in city, one in forest and one in open. Right now I can run with everything On highest setting in forest at a smooth 6 FPS.

Stop IT - I can't see with the tears in my eyes!!

Just a thought - could you have him join another group. Maybe have a co-pilot in another group. Or some other group somewhere. ? Edit: Another thought: Maybe you could use Alpha radio command to tell him to join the other group. Beta to join your group.

Sure One way is to have a script called at waypoint 3 that sends the unit back and forth from then on. I don't have time to show you one right now - gtg Good luck

Off the top of my head, didn't you need to set your sound recorder to a certain setting - like 48.000 KHZ 8 bit mono This may be totally wrong but I seem to recall that you did need a specific setting.

Points for Kills [Pop Up Board]
Scillion replied to mattxr's topic in ARMA - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
Nice - mine used amount of damage so that it took two hits to get a kill. But I didn't even know that command. Let me see - I'll put that in my commands.txt file. Never know when I'll need it. I like to save scripts that work. Too much of OFP's commands got messed up in some way or other. I hope the next patch fixes most of the problems. -
Points for Kills [Pop Up Board]
Scillion replied to mattxr's topic in ARMA - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
Not sure - but you can use the blue ones because they take damage. Check for any damage or you can check for more damage if you would like 2 hits with the m4. Condition part of a trigger: for 2 hits <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">(bluetarget damage) > .6 I would be glad to send you a mission I made that has a timer and counts each target you kill. It also has tanks. They take a lot of damage but can be taken out by just one AT round. PM me with your email if you want it. -
I made a Timer myself. It's not perfect. It wouldn't show a time at the end of the race or whatever your doing but it's a good place to start and you should be able to modify it to work. <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">;Script by Scillion ; _daytimefix = 0 _mintime2 = 0 _daytime = daytime _othertime = daytime _daytime = _daytime - _daytime #update Hint _stringpos ; _othertime is when you started the timer and daytime is the time now _daytime = daytime - _othertime ; these are used to make the daytime turn into seconds in a clock like format _daytime = _daytime * 10000 _daytime = _daytime /1.66 _daytime = _daytime * .6 _daytime = _daytime - _daytimefix _daytime = round _daytime _mintime = _daytime /60 if (_mintime > .99) then { _mintime2 = _mintime2 + 1; _daytimefix = _daytimefix + 60}; _stringpos = format["TIME> %1:%2\n",_mintime2,_daytime] Goto "update" Ok, I used a little too much code. I'm sure there is a number to replace all the _daytime = bla bla into one line. But I did this a little at a time and I'm fine with the result. Good Luck Editing: Just a few more things since your new to scripting. Have a trigger start this script (call the script anything you want). The timer runs all the time. You might be able to use a trigger at the end of the race to put a bolian to true. Like A = true. in the script you might have a If/then that's like this <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">If a = true then exit Maybe you could make _Stringpos into a global like Stringpos (the little Underline _ makes varibles local). Then at the end of the race you could use it with triggers and the hint statement. Not sure if that works but I would try stuff until something works.

How to empty a Ammo Crate
Scillion replied to Scillion's topic in ARMA - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
Thx for the quick reply. -
<table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">removeallweapons Thisno longer works with crates. I really don't want to creat a script to remove every weapon one at a time. Is there a new way?

Right Click open with notepad. If it doesn't open then Instead get the friend to send you a copy of the file in txt form where he opens it with notepad and saves it as text. Then you can just rename the txt file sqs. If he can't open it then there is your problem. Otherwise it's you. So here it is. Go to: C:\Documents and Settings\Nameofyourscreen\My Documents\ArmA Other Profiles\Yourcharactername\missions Now create a folder named: Something.Sara (for the whole island) Or create a folder named: Something.Intro (for the tiny island) Now put the mission.sqs file in it.

I had the same experience as you with setfriend. It worked a little sometimes but didn't work all the time or with full effect. Nice - and you can have civilians who don't get shot and groups that do get shot. Very Nice work around.

Formation usage during doMove and MoveTo
Scillion replied to a topic in ARMA - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
Nice command, if you had 6 triggers set for enemy detected in 6 directions from base, you could have 6 Game Logics to deploy you troops. On a side note, I tried to use setwaypointposition. I had no luck. It didn't move a waypoint. It wouldn't even move a second waypoint that the units weren't on yet. [mygroup, 2] setWaypointPosition [getpos GL01, 400] shouldn't this move waypoint 2 somewhere in a circle from GL01. -
If it works you should be able to type it anywhere. Triggers On Act. section Waypoints On Act. section In a Script Maybe in the init line of a man. EXP: west setfriend [resistance, .1] watch the fireworks between you and the indepentants Or Exp: west setfriend [civilian, .1] Now your guys will shoot them on site. And if they have weapons look out. I tried in a trigger. worked great.
