    ArmA3 Wishlist and Ideas

    o I really liked RF3 Artillery and logistics script. The ability to tow fixed cannons, load tactical vehicles into c-130s was awesome. I would love to see some version of that be a part of the game, especially if I can pre-load vehicles in the map editor.
  2. I think it is fine the way it is. If a person wants to implement the proper FDC and FO communications (according to which ever army they want) then they can. My buddy acts as the FDC I communicate with him over Teamspeak and he inputs the information. The guys operating the gun calls shot and splash based on the round flight time. I dont know why there would need to be an in game way of doing this, its all spoken on a radio. Sure there are methods to call fire via text on FBCB2 or other similar systems. But if you wanted to do that you might as well implement all the other features of that equipment. I would think anybody looking for that should write a separate script.
  3. Is it possible to pre-load items in a vehicle? I would like to have a C-130 loaded and in flight on mission start.
  4. I am trying to get the ACE EASA trailer to spawn on top of the Khe Sahn. I have the line of code that puts an object like an ammo crate on the Khe Sahn, but that does not work when applied to a module. The module spawns the trailer in and I do not know how to get it to take the setposASL command for other objects. I also tried applying the changeloadout function to an ammo crate that I could get to spawn on the Khe Sahn, but I didnt have any luck. Anyone have any ideas?
  5. Well, I know you said, something like that, but that put in the init field caused an error. I am fairly novice at this, and the condition you are setting for the wait doesn't really make sense to me so perhaps if you were a little more specific as to what it needs. Thanks for your help, I really appreciate it.
  6. Ok, well to start I tried putting this text in the init line of the module: That did not seem to work. Next I tried creating the vehicle with out the use of the module using a game logic. in the init field of a game logic named farp I used this: that will place a usable trailer on the map, however it does not put one on top of the Khe Sahn I also tried to put the functionality of the trailer on an object that I could get to spawn on the carrier. so in the init field of an ammo crate that was on the deck of the carrier i put this: I know either my formatting is off on that one or I tried to get it to run the wrong function because I can't get that to work on land or at all. Thanks for any help you can give me.
  7. Is it possible to change the Troop Capacity of a vehicle without creating or modifying an addon? I don't want to change an addon, rather just change it in a mission file so that new addons are not required.
  8. Myself and a friend cant play arma on the same server at the same time, both our computers can connect independently. We live in the same building under the same router. We can both play at the same time on different servers, just not the same server. Anyone have any thoughts?
  9. That would be an obvious response but no we are not using the same key or copy of the game. Does anyone have anything helpful to suggest?

  11. When I play Armed Assault, sometimes I can play for hours with out problem. More often than not though, I am plagued by that message every 20 minutes. I have contacted my ISP and had a tech out to my building and my internet signal is good. Typically when I loose connection to the game server my connection to Teamspeak doesn't drop out. This occurs for many different servers not just one in particular. I am on a cable modem with a linksys router. I have tried other router brands in the past with similar results. Is there some setting somewhere that I just don't know about? does anyone else have this problem?
  12. I want to have civilians that carry pistols and can use an action to holster them. I can add the pistol to the character but I cant make them holster the pistol. I have tried pressing the switch weapon or pulling out binoculars to switch it so I was wondering if there was a command I could use after: this addaction to make them put the pistol away.

  14. That works if the civilian is AI controlled, I want it to be player controlled. If its player controlled you start with it away but draw it a few seconds later automatically.
