The "not yet" sounds very good. :)

Yea additional playtime would have been awesome. It was a great game to watch, thanks to both teams.

@pufu: maybe Mando Missile? There is indeed an engine limitation which prevents missiles on helicopter from being actively guided :)

[OA] New config values, who has info about?
Serclaes replied to [frl]myke's topic in ARMA 2 & OA : ADDONS - Configs & Scripting
Uhh, as far as i know the older M1 and M2 had Red White/Black. Maybe depends on how old you mean... -
What's the sign you play too much ArmA?
Serclaes replied to Michael Withstand's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
When you think "friendly fire" while watching an own goal in football :) -
[For free] Proof of concept: weapon attachements
Serclaes replied to [frl]myke's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Ok, maybe my post wasn't so clear. Take the M4. There are 5 possible attachment places. Granted, some attachments need to be fixed to special rails. Like the M203 to the bottom rail and the sights preferrably to the sights rail. Now as a modeller you have your M4 all done. Then you have the "attachments". Lets say a pool of cco, Aimpoint, Eotech, RCO for the sights, for the bottom rail M203, grip, bipod, heatshield. Lets just stay with that. If i'm not mistaken thats 4x4 possibilities. So 16 M4s that have to be modeled. Ok, when you're done, you notice a mistake on the lower receiver. A mistake which you'll have to correct on every of those 16 M4s. My suggestion is: solving that by proxies (i know, engine limitation etc) You'd have one model which you could attach where you want. Hence you'd have one M4 (=1 section) with up to 5 attachments, 6 even with a suppressor. Hence the 6 or 7 sections. I don't think either that you'd change your sights when deployed. I guess you'll need tools for that. So my concern is really the modelling. -
[For free] Proof of concept: weapon attachements
Serclaes replied to [frl]myke's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
It doesn't solve the biggest issue: For every variant there needs to be a model. That makes ulterior changes impossible. Even if we could stick 5 attachments to the M4. There is still the section problem. A weapon would have 6 sections at minimum => performance goodbye. -
Shows even more how much Müller was missed. They took ages to figure out that they could advance without problems on the left side. Sadly Podolski is hardly the quick and light player hence every attempt to rush would end when Podolski got the ball. :( I think spain is going to rock the netherlands too, but lets see.

+1 :(

Yea because suddenly he preferred the spanish over the german foodbox and his food selection is assumed to be visionary. Silly octopus. -> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BAEmJfbheyY

Then spain can rest today if they are going to make it for sure

2 good deeds in one. Astonishing! :notworthy:

Lol, it got changed 70 years ago. Maybe you mean the Deutschlandlied :)

Es gibt nur einen Thomas Müüüller! Es gibt nur einen Thomas Müller! Unbelievable. 20 years old, just won his first season in the Bundesliga and does a fantastic job. Too bad he's not going to be there for the next game for such a bagatelle. I was anxious before the game, i was anxious at the end of the first half. But the goals! Oh my god even Friedrich made his first (not friendly fire) goal in a world cup after 77 games. :D

Which recoil model do you prefer?
Serclaes replied to celery's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - BETA PATCH TESTING
There is a lot more to precision shooting that coping with the recoil. For one i am missing shivering and breath. Of course they should diminish with your stance and your rest. If you have a good rest you can even diminish the recoil by anticipating it and holding your rifle firmly. But i can fully agree, shooting is way too easy. I mean we don't have to bother about wrongly looking into the scope or the ironsights since the aiming point is always exactly where the eye should be. Even when in scopes the reticle is not tilted when leaning, which makes it easier to shoot with scopes than with ironsight or red dots. So let us at least take care of the recoil ourselves. A whole new dimension of skill for machine gunners. The next step for me are somewhat 3d scopes. I don't even need a magnifying material like in the source engine for example, but a second black image with a whole in it, that adjusts according to sway would already do it. Right now the scopes are quite immune to recoil and sway. -
Indeed this doesn't cover short rooms or rooms with exits. In german army you constantly call what you see and do. So the first one would call "SHORT ROOM" "WINDOW FAR SIDE - CLEAR" "DOOR RIGHT - COVERED" while the second gets in and shouts "DOOR LEFT - COVERED".

No entry 'bin\config.bin/cfgVehicles/CfgFactionClasses.scope'
Serclaes replied to Clavicula_nox4817's topic in ARMA 2 & OA : ADDONS - Configs & Scripting
I think scope lets you set the inheritance and the visibility in the editor. Having a scope of private (0 iirc) forbids inheriting, protected (1 iirc) allows inheriting but is still not shown in editor and public (2 iirc) is shown in editor. -
Any chance for a PC version? :(
-
Haha, made my day. :D he probably just made a typo.

Have a look at: ArmARoot/userconfig/acre/ There is a file where you can set your PTT Key.

rateOfFire hast nothing to do with sound. It's to make the AI fire in a more natural way at longer distances. Nobody empties a mag and then checks where he hit to adjust fire with the next 30 rounds.

Very exciting game so far.:459: The wembley curse might have been lifted today :D

In Germany you can buy OA in some Media Markt and Saturn stores. I know some of our unit already bought it. I doubt there is a way before there are beta patches specifically for OA.
