It didn't just hit one. It hit like 80% of the gulf coast. Alabama, Florida, and Mississippi. 20% of imports washed away. about 50% oil production in the gulf coast gone. Thats a good size dent in the US econimy. Good example on why your primary source should be solely the news, they concentrate on only a few things. "zoom out" and look at the events as a whole.

just got news today. Around half my squad (CAP073) is being deployed to Louisiana for disaster relief. They leave Saturday and will be down there for a week, God be with them .

Are you denying that the number of hurricanes is increasing? My God, kid do you not read properly? I said it will always be inevitable. Do I need to explain my post further? Â I guess people don't read my posts all the way though at this forum: 5 times the phrase greenhouse was used after that post. This topic is not called "greenhouse effect", its about America picking up what they dropped at the gulf coast and rebuilding. Its already happened guys you can't change it. <!> W-4 <!>

Were is this green house effect comments comming from? Can someone please connect a Kyoto signing with whats hapening now? This disaster was, is, and will still be inevitable. There is no changing, it is out of human hands. lets see how a huricane is Formed. I can get in deeper with the green house effect but I would go too far off-topic. So know this, I think the green house effect is irrelivent to life today because humans have learned to adapt through many many years. Don't let me hear anything more about the greenhouse effect in this topic because I will point and laugh at you untill you drown yourself from self-pity. If you whant to discuse it then create another topic, but not here guys. Disaster strikes when it can inflict the most possible damage. Has anyone noticed that yet or am I looking at a differant direction. In other words, it was impossible for all the possiblities to be layed out for decisions. You never know what will happen in the futre untill it just heppends. one of the main problems of refuge center down there is organization. people don't know what thier supposed to do.

Its good to have disasters like these, though it may not seem that way now. but look at the Titanic, we have better safety and rescue standards now becuase an "unsinkable" ship is kissing the ocean floor. I'm not saying we should have a party of anything. what I am saying is that we need to look back and learn what we're doing wrong and change it. Set standards from it. I know I shouldn't really this now since we are still saving people in NO but it's going to be said sometime. pluse this thread is looking like it will spiral any second... Also I usually say things out of the Blue, hence the name

Sort of makes you think don't it. Just hold on. It was a Federal order to evacuate. What hits me the most is the homeless population. Theres a bunch down there. Sometimes you just have to move on and build again. to me New Orleans was Sand, not Rock; but I'm not going to point fingers. not now, not ever. we have to continue with our lives no mater how tough or how curvy it may be. Judging by your posts you have been praying alot about it. But remember this: God deals out all events; not just the good, or not just the bad. He deals out all things that happen in your life. And that is all according to His plan. One door closes, but stay vigilant because one more opens. off the relegious part: I'm just thankful for the ones who made it alive.

hmm... Katrina dumped 3 1/2 inches were I live yesterday (Cincinnati). Flooding isn't the only thing were looking out for, Bush has gotten a grant to pull out reserve barrels of oil. Gas prices are jumping. I just hope New Orleans returns to a city and not become a permanent part of lake something-hard-to-type. Indeed, my prayers shall be with those who is touched by Katrina (if you notice its always the female named hurricans that give us trouble now in days ).

Ok this is how it looks so far: Do you think I should put SEATO, and CENTO on the map?
-
This map is for Diplomatic ties, how well the US can communicate with other countries. I'm also doing a military alliance map, and a popularity map, but onething at a time  EDIT: here's the updated version with a few changes to exsisting ratings.
-
I know this is sort of out of the blue but would you guys help me with a map that I've started? Its showing relations to the US, and as you can see I only have the Iraqi coalition marked. I'm using this map as a referance for personal use to help me understand whats going on. well... here it is: It's not quite done yet though I'd really like to have strong evidence to back up the rating of the relations plz. Thx in advance - Blue shooting true, out.

Realistic huh? in that case, it should be something like 300 M16 rounds, 6 hand grenades, 200 M60 rounds and some other stuff, I can't remember exsactly what it said. I'm reading this book about a guy in the 101st Airborne durring the Vietnam War. He wrote something of that nature in it for when they loaded up (and I mean loaded). but that could only be the 101st, I don't know if it would be regular infantry though.
