Coz I get excited when I see my fave addon!... Summer '05 on exercise in The Lake District. 'The Klinks' Lynx - UKF British Infantry - Llaumax - DXDLL
-
Good luck! If it won't work, I'll go and stuff myself... Well Done!... after an hour + re-installing everything, it seems to be fixed. For your professional curiosity the only difference in the install was that I installed to 'C:/...Operation Flashpoint' not 'C:/...OperationFlashpoint' (the default on my CWC disc) as I noticed this was your default in your installer.

DXDLL 1.0 (not Geforce MX compatible)
StealthTiger replied to kegetys's topic in ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Got my 6600GT running on AA x4 / AF x8 (which I had anyway) but with those drivers got my lovely reflections back with only a minimal fps hit @ 512x512 and 1024x768 resolution -
Normally if someone told me I should reinstall my OFP when I don't have any other problems with it - I'd say "Get stuffed!" But I really want to like this more than I do and my comp didn't like the CiA coop night too much (although I did) which is run on FDF. So, tonight I'll wipe it all and try again .. all for the sake of this one island!

@$kelet0r: No footpaths? I can clearly see three footpaths in that shot

Which flag for a fictional country?
StealthTiger replied to Sophion-Black's topic in ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Just a star.. if you don't like that one, try this one: -
Are 'all' of the buildings new also?...ie not just retextured current models and completely new designs through out

Looking good BIS. Thank you
-
I am not trying to detract from what is otherwise a great looking island. I don't normally try and run through buildings whilst playing either. I came across this bug by accident but since noticing it of course I tried it on other buildings. I cannot however replicate this on other islands or BIS stuff. I got inside the buildings quickly and easily, with only what I would consider minimal effort - ie. quick enough to do it in the heat of a MP firefight. I will point out that I couldn't do this on around 20% of the buildings as a guess. I wont labour the point any longer.. I just thought you may want to be aware that players/a player was having this issue. I don't know anything about modelling so could not give you an idea of how to solve it I'm afraid.

Feasable: Yes. Although as can be seen above in testing, it made actually made no difference. I assure you everything in my setup is ordinary and I haven't modified it in any way.
-
@Edge: Thanks for the explanation. I'll try that, although I'll be astounded if it makes any differance, as the fps is around 25-30 - which should not be low enough to cause any problems.. at least non that I've noticed when the fps drops in some of the 20 other islands/mods I have. All in all it's a very nicely detailed island though. Edit: As suspected with the quality set at it's lowest and with an fps of 46 I wandered into the large green house... Now then, this has all taken place in the town of Suurkyla in the NE of the island. I haven't tried this anywhere else, but I imagine that if the same models are used then the issues would appear in the areas too.

Fence: Fair enough just looks odd, I like that when driven over they're destroyed and you don't just pass through them. I have now been in game again and found that I could run through the majority of the buildings and stone walls - and I've not tried it with time acceleration. All of the buildings in the 1st shot can be walked through. At least with the 2nd shot it looks right from the inside - might as well make that an open/close door in the action menu. I'm not putting a downer on FDF as a whole, I think they're a talented bunch who produce some high quality work. If I come across as less than enthusiastic it's because I wouldn't have expected to have come across bugs like this in FDF productions.
-
Looks nice.. just a shame you can run through objects like they're not there (buildings, fences etc.) and like most FDF stuff the frame-rates are a little lower. Other than that it's good enough.

This looks like one great piece of equipment! Personally I like this colour scheme.. ..as I believe it would give you the maximum flexability in OFP to use in varied conditions. Similar examples of the camo's you've posted are shown on the T-80/T90's in this thread and the 'Vodnik' would compliment (or the other way around) them nicely!

Which flag for a fictional country?
StealthTiger replied to Sophion-Black's topic in ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
I like Llaumas too.. I went and had a look at the flags of the world and after looking at the certain countries which have 'troubles' was inspired to come up with this: As we don't know anything about your intended fictional country or it's government, it's hard to choose a flag which may symbolize it well. I'd suggest thinking about the meaning behind the colours and symbols and then base a flag around that. ie. For the above flag you could read for example: Black Bands: Mourning the many who died in the struggle for independance. White Bands: Indicating that their is now peace. Red Band: Symbolizing the revolution that led to becoming a country in it's own right. Green Square: A youthful new country. White Symbol: Commemorating the hero of the fight for independance and who died for the cause. That's just an example, you can make the colours mean something else if you wanted? -
