According to a poll some days ago, finishing a small collection of addons for use with tonal is now on priority. As a first step I run through my harddisc, collecting smaller airplanes and ships that might fit in. Here are some first screens of the basic models, hope you can identify them.

An open source could be a good idea under some rules of the thumb. Best thing would be if you can't see the difference on the model, but you can see it ingame by increasing performance. This means: - delete isolated points - merge near - delete all components in normal lods - delete all selections that are no longer in use - delete all textures in geo, fire geo - check lod numbers - check smooth and sharp faces - check points in each normal lod in relation to other addons - search for different texture names (several versions of plane black) - simplify geo lod (often a copy of 0.000 lod) - simplify fire geo lod (more often a copy of 0.000 lod) - delete or split view cargo, view pilot etc. epending on the modell - simplify hit points lod - check config and cargo view lods if the elements in the lods can be seen ingame This often took only some minutes and sometimes the effect on performance ingame is great. Oher thing would be a collection of "ready to copy" templates and solutions for adding missiles, enabling gear, afterburner, open canopy or other features that will add some flar to the addon. Out of scope is double faces, making new lods and other things hat will need too much time.

Answer: NO Â Â Go for a larger mod with two sides, air, land and repair vehicles, buildings and so on. If you need some help, please let me know, but i will not texture anything... PS: wow, you are very talented and doing an awesome job

Hi, sounds very interesting. Once I tried for a cutscene to use a "black box" and microscale models for a space scene. Main Problem is the scale: if too small, effects like damage will be displaced and look strange, if too big you can't be sure that other people with lower settings in the option menue will see some kind of fog. This usually turn the black box in a more grey one. Problem is also the texture for the stars in the background. Texture quality must be very good to have sharp stars. If you want to move a space ship I would suggest to make it of class house. This class should be moved by an invisible addon of class ship. House has the advantage, that you can carry a lot of other addons on it with transport scripts like class plane for afterburner or class tank for guns if you want to make some star wars space battles. So it would be very interesting to read more about your idea what you want to do in space... -
To make a guess: Footmunch's mesh is a non-closed, yours is a closed one?

One small question, if you can use a high end program like 3ds max, why not making all texture effects in 3ds max, making screenshots and place them as textures on the modell? Of course lightning effects can be done by filters, too, but with the help of 3DS MAX lightning / shadow will be logical (for the modell at least). On other small thing: the name "naja" can be free translated as "maybe"...

One of the best islands out there, its big, its offer a very good performance, so you can place a lot of units on it and the road system is outstanding

Sorry for reactivating this, but I downloaded the addon pack 1 and 2 and the campaign yesterday. Running through the configs there are tons of models that are ready to use but not enabled in the configs, other stuff is missing, but i am sure I have seen pics somewhere. Is there an eldar and/or chaos package (troops) out there?

I really like this stuff. In my opionion the best mod for OFP. Only one small bug: if flying a Transall cargo, no paras for the crew if they have to disembark.

I would suggest to finish those tanks first , they are looking really good and it won't hurt if the wwiiec stuff will need some more days until release... But it's only my opinion...

Long ago, and i really mean long ago an addon was made for an eagle spaceship from the TV series space 1999. As far as I remember it was an italian addonmaker releasing it as aquila.pbo Does anyone still have it?

This time everything is made by someone else... I got the eagle addon from a friend of mine made by an unknown artist years ago, here i use it as a heavy transporter for the star wars droids, equipted with Bastlers M41 from Aliens with some fighters and spaceships from Wing Commander and Hunterkiller from Terminator. Landvehicles and Containers are refolded paperwork again from Aliens found here http://aliens.humlak.cz/aliens/Aliens_papirove_modely.htm
