  1. The OFP engine also used to deform the model itself. You'd sometimes get a really bizarre looking wreck that looked like it had been sculpted by Pablo Picasso.. but you were able to tell from any distance whether it was operational or not  biggrin_o.gif

    Yeah.

IMHO that was a better system; the bodies would stay in the vehicle too. Anyone who blew up the trambant knows how cool it looked with the body mangled in the wreck.

  2. Funny Story.

    When I was still with the late 4thib, there was this guy, Dome, who was leading my squad through the forest when he yelled;

    "Get Down, IED!"

We stayed there for at least 15 min trying to find out what it was...

    Good times...

  3. Better troubleshoot the hell out of the character control animation than give us the hords of wonderfully animated & modeled wild animals in forrest and fields of ArmA2 landscapes. Don't give us the Abrams that can be potentially shot out with a Makarov hand gun.

Exactly, screw the damn animals if i can't even survive a gangster drive by in a tank... pistols.gif

  4. ah, too bad. I was hoping they would have more customization options to the avatar so moders could focus on gear, and equipment rather than making a whole new character for each load out... i mean the possibilities that would open up makes me wish i was working for BI and had enough knowledge to work it in...

  5. According to this picture we seem to be fitting a big 50 in the back. http://img.dailymail.co.uk/i....362.jpg

Do be aware though it looks photoshoped.

Edit: Found a more reliable pair from DML showing only two mounted weapons. http://www.mod.uk/NR....MIK.JPG

very cool vehicle, cant wait to virtually try it out... notworthy.gif

  6. The ArmA animation system is much more flexible than OFP was. Any part can be animated by as many animations as you wish, layered one over another, each of them can even have a different timing. All of this is described by a flexible Model Config system.

Making complicated layered animations can require a lot of thinking, typing and debugging, but it is definitely possible. We have created very complicated animations for some airplane landing gears, which include simultaneous moving of different parts, and some parts doing complex animations like performing translation first, followed by rotation.

In this case... why is the Havocs Gun fixed then...?

What Havoc? You mean the Kamov? I think the issue is more to do with controls than animations.

heh the animations are more flexible, but the controls aren't Doh! banghead.gif

  7. I love Sahrani Radio, and I would definitely watch this!

I do too, but i don't like the rap... and other stuff of that nature... I wish it had more ArmA content, more jerry hopper!

Anyways its good that Jerry has noticed this.
