My work is conentrated simply within the C++ code used in creating the configuration files, i simply modified classes by replacing the names of BIS default units with that of the user made addons. UH60 MG has been replaced by BAS UH60L, the UH60L's cargo positions are different than the BIs UH60, as such things will look a bit weird when getting into a BAS UH60L.     Yeah, the code you have there is exactly what i had to do in the first place to modify the standard BIS config, however in order to have each soldier use the proper weapon you have to also edit the cfgweapons class and leave certain weapon class names as m16, m4, m16grenadelauncher...etc. but now you reference the model, sounds variables...etc to the new addon.

    It will work if you simply copy the lines of code in my config to replace the NON-ECP code. As long as there is no class ambiguity or classes that have been accidentally definied twice, it should work.

    Just tested both hyperlinks...they work fine. Dont know what the problem is, but it must be somehwere between you, your isp and the different hops needed to connect to freewebs.

    Gordy, there is a typo in the installation instructions, change westGFXupgrade to wGFXupgrade in the -mod= parameter. It should work now. Also follow m21man's instructions. Diablo, It looks like i may be doing a full upgrade sometime in the future, right now i am super swamped with work and dont have the time to implement the modification in it's entirety, if anything i will be updating the Russian weapons at least sometime soon. Cant say when because i have a lot of things to do that take priority over this mod. The good news, is my mod is unbinarized so anyone of you can start changing things around however you like. For those of you that have tried this mod, i hope you enjoy using it.

    First, I'd like to say great job Kurayami, so far i tested your config in the campaign and in some single player missions...and so far everything works pretty smoothly. And looks much better! I dont mean to hijack the thread but, about the Blackhawks, i have done this with my mod in the latest patch. The BAS UH60L replaces the BIS UH-60 MG and includes all the wonderful custom scripting and actions available to it from BAS. Also the cargo proxies are working as they should. So it can be done...and pretty quickly i might add. The differences between my config and Kurayami's is that mine attempts to stick to the 1985 era as much as possible, and i have not yet implemented Russian and Resistance replacements. Also, my config does not use ECP nor can it be used in conjunction with ECP yet. I'd have to do what Kurayami did and request permission from ECP to modify their code by including theirs and my own in the same config...but at this moment i dont really have that time. The next best thing i would be able to do(in a reasonable time span) is replace the Russian weapons with INQ's weapons. Hope this provides an insight into what the difference is between all these config mods which are becoming available now.

    As others have told me and i have agreed, INQ's weapons are quite good(he has ak47's, ak74's and pk's)...since he has PAA versions out now, you may want to try those.

    Ok the Nam pilots are gone now, the ammo crates work as they should in the mission editor, not sure what to do about that training mission. The pilots have all their special functions now(or most anyway) The BAS UH60L...now uses its own proper cargo positions, dust effects, door animations and combat scripts(extraction, insertion...etc) DOWNLOAD wGFXupgrade UPDATE To install the update just extract it to the wGFXupgrade\BIN folder

    Thanks for the feedback everyone. Hjaldar, Â This isnt a campaign pbo, this is a "conversion" meaning that the default BIS units will be replaced entirely in every single mission, or campaign and even in multiplayer. So while you went ahead and changed the units in every single mission withinthe campaign only, this mod replaces them with one fell swoop. ThePara, I will fix the ammo crate issue so that it also uses Earls mags as well. To everyone, I will replace the NAMPACK pilots with the SOAR's for the sake of simplicity and making everyones addon load that much less. Seems like there was enough feedback on that issue As far as replacing the guerillas, the russians and their weapons...thats all being planned. For now this serves as a WEST replacement mod, only. Watch this thread for an update...i'll probably have it out in the next few hours. P.S I forgot to add, the reason this does not work with other mods like ECP(which have modified configs), is because the config's are conflicting and not complementing one another. One or the other has to take precedence, unless ECP writes up my config as a plug-in that can work inconjunction with their mod, you will not be able to use these cooperatively.

    I may replace the nampack pilots with the BAS SOAR guys, but the NAMPACK has been out so long...most people have it by this point in time. I figured the nampack pilots were much more appropriate than the SOAR's since they use gear and technology, that is closer to cold war era kit. If you dont have the nampack by now...well it might be a good time to download it.

    Yeah the M249 is pretty damn cool, but hey rocking and rolling on the "PIG" is nothing to scoff about either. When i hear my Machine gunners let the lead fly, man i feel real safe! Besides I'm trying to keep it as close to 1985 as possible. Wish i had 85' Delta operators. So theres been 60 post views so far, who's tried it out yet?

    Yeah i may end up using those retextured guerilla's then...wow the scope of this project is starting to get bigger and bigger. I think what i will do for now is...release the config's as is...West forces modified only...and then perhaps down the line i will release updates to the EAST and Resistance side as well. Like someone mentioned before, RHS will be releasing their new tanks soon and using those as replacements rather than SIGMA's interim addon would make more sense. How's that sound?

    Hey, settle down man. I'm probably going to stick with the m16a4/m203. But i feel just as you do LW, i never really noticed that it was an a4 rather than an a2. But hey, I opened up my mouth and i got some suggestions right? No need for anyone to get frustrated.

    Sgt. Milkman, Yeah i am using SIGMA's m60a1 rather than the A3 since i dont believe the a3 came out until after or during the 1st Gulf War. About Suchey and Earls Russian Naval Infantry, you have no idea how tempted i was to use those guys, but i then thought about how they would not suit the CWC Era very well. SEAL84, Yeah i went ahead and replaced the m16/m203 with the m4/m203...i may have to search for another addon to fill this void, however it will be a bit strange to see Earls weapons on everyone else except the grenadiers.     Thanks to SEAL84, i was able to use the configs provided from the breathe forums to solve the problems. The handgun proxy issue is no more! All the problems inheirited by INQ's config have disappeared. MOD Summary ----------------- Whats been changed? The russkies.... Would anyone be able to recommend some "improved" 1985 era Soviet Soldiers? Russian Weapons Would anyone be able to recommend some proper AK47/74...etc replacements other than INQ's JPEG replacements...btw, INQ's weapons look great as a default for the russians, but their performance hit will be felt on lower end systems. Russian Vehicles Same as above, replacements for the BMP, HIND, Mi17...? T55's from RHS could be used, SIGMA's T72's and T80's. CSLA, has some nice BMP's, HINDS and Mi17's, but i dont want to force people to download the CSLA mod just so they can use this one. I'm sure i could get this little modification out the door soon if permission can be sought by all parties, i dont think they will mind since i am not distributing their addons with this config nor am i modifying the files in anyway. All i am doing is referencing their pbo's to use the models, textures and some of their functionalities. Please be aware that such special scripted features such as the BAS dust effects, cargo doors and goggles do not work. Let me know what you guys think.
  22. If anyone has any information regarding where i could find an un-edited, unbinarized config.cpp other than the old ECP config's and INQ's old config i would really appreciate it.     Yeah switching the m16a4/m203 to the m4 would be a quick job. I need an original config.cpp because i cant track down where the problems with INQ's mod begins or ends. I was able to solve a few issues like a missing addon error, even though the addon is native to INQ's weaponpack and a missing optiks error. But, the handgun proxy problem is just weird. His binarized version does not have this problem, nor does the ECP's unbinarized .11 config. Thanks for the advice on the kit, i knew it wasn't completely right...but it helps to have confirmation on what exactly is needed.
