I do respect anybody's religious belief, that's a fundamental Human right. And I do agree, feeling "good" (no better word to express a feling, sorry), when inside a muslim family, one lady made the choise not to wear the scarf, while her sister made the choice of wearing it. No social, family or cultural pressure, only a TRUE choice. This is the goal we are trying to aim at. But because, and I understand that, it's so human, when the world is changing very fast, when humans lose their marks because their individuality (differnet from individualism, that is a plague) is not strong enough, the first reflex action is to take refuge in the smallest social unit, a community. And France don't wan't to become a patchwork of communities. It may be Ok, when everything happening is at peace. When problems happen, some communities start waging political or even armed conflict against the others. That happens when a Society has no goal for a society project, but just living side by side. Tolerance is far easier when there's a far dominent "social group". In France, there are far many "social groups".

*Cough* Whats that suppose to mean?  The rights of muslims are pretty much the same as anyones ,if you wanna go on religious discrimination spree then add athiesm and everyone in there too ... I cant imagine all this for just a  *^%$@&  scarf ? Can plz anyone still answer me how damaging an effect just the scarf is to the french people? At my own regrets, I didn't have to imagine anything. What has been written has been said, and not, understand it well, by secular side. I won't ALLOW anybody saying that different levels of Human rights do exist. But In France, as you don't know, throught it's far away from you, it's is what had been claimed by "pious" demonstrating women, while "protected" and leaded by their "male allies". They also claiming things that would be even not tolerated in some Muslim countries.... being healed only by a female doctor for exexmple. As you don't know it's developping, and not from recent immigrants but "pious" now-french citizens. ... oh yes, those gouvernments are so corrupted... While all governments are always viewed as corrupted by a part of their people... Â

Each culture lives by its laws. These laws only apply on their lands. Others' Laws dont' have to interfere on others laws, neither muslim laws on Occident, nor Occident's Laws on Muslim world, or whatever laws, even Martian or jovian Laws on Venusian culture

"One God, One King, One People, One Land" is the basis of the first monotheistic religion in the World, whick make it being unique in Mankind History. Â They also manage to keep intact their fundamental beliefs and traditions through thousands years of occupations and diasporas. Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â ---------------------------------- For other things, no lessons to learn from countries that forbade Christain Churches on their territory, while demonstrating religions tolerance. Mostly after having heard that they were : - the human rights on one side, - the rights of the Muslim Human on the other side.

If you have the opportunity to have access to eastern sources, why didn't you also manage to get data as shell's velocity ? I've been living, as a French NCO, for 10+ years among propagandas (french also),... my tank is better than yours, my missile stikes harder, my armor is better,... so I knwo well that "world of misinformation", only sure of a true gory bloodbath in case of real meeting engagement between East and West, just before nuke-using. I also thank you very much for having made this effort of explanation...  ... And I used to think that NATO's classification was the most complex  P.S. for the morons : "Oh a french coward !!!"... I love you all, silly bacteria, and please stop learning about the world watching John Wayne's western films and Schwarzie's Terminators while eating popcorn  Â

After updated researches (after all, 1991 Jane's is starting to get a bit old ) T-55AM2 upgraded to fire Basnaya => T-55AM2B : Czecholosvakian built T-55 AM2P : Polish built T-55AM2PB : Russian built I'm not the only to have to update his knowledge Thank you for giving me the opportunity to improve my own For your own information, Romania, during their insurgency, do possess T-55s Kladivo (laser, skirtsand horseshoe armor). I got it on a pic (that's not a TR-77 or so on), in an era when this data was not commonly known... so if you are interested...

Sigma-6, as a true and passionnate armored vehicles lover, I'm always fond of your tanks and IFV since your first beta, T-72, T-80, LAV, Bison,... and now T-55 and T-64 , and your realism seeking work. But : - Why do all the shells fly at 2000m/s; from 100mm to 125mm cailber ? - Why didn't the T-55AM2 fire the 9M117 Basnya ATGM, which would give it a true and realistic advantage over its kin ?

New btr 70 & btr 80 by sea demon

Problems seens : - there's no BTR icon on the lower part of the command screen for the BTR-70 wood - At the rear of the BTR-80, under the red traffic lights, the side of the metal sheets are textureless white - While BTR70 Turret' elevation/depression angle is +30°/-5°, BTR80's angle is +60°. Do not forget that BTR80's turret had been redone for AA gunship. I love the doors' automatic closing

Sorry Acecombat, Â Â but it seems that someone doe'snt know alot about Crusades. During this Dark Ages, exist the group of Hashishim (or "users of hashish"), drug-using, faithless, profiecient killers lead by "the old man of the Mountain". They were feared by muslims and helped sometimes some christians Lords, threatening men and Califs. Even Saladin had real difficulties with them! The word Hashishim got transformed by history and become the word Assassin.

You said in this topic as many false or incomplete clichés about Occident as we did about Middle-East  So : - Or you are using well cool smilies to show your self-confidence, absoluty sure to know the TRUTH, and I can use smilies too - Or we don't manage to understand each other because of our lack of english mastering and true knowledge, "cliché less" about the other Culture. I'd prefer the second problem, as it allows the building of a more constructive  understanding process.  Poliorcetic is the Art of Siege, how to seize a fortified city.. Guess where does it come from ?... but that's not a capital point in the current debate. Is the word "Retorting" critizising me ?

Please make some sense all this nonesiscal talk isnt making any ... You are damn right, the most judicious word is cliché But : - ...when the europeans were learning how to fling a rock over a castles wall : that's Poliorcetic - Occidental civilisation didin't appear on Earth with the settlement of Christianity in Europe. Saying the oposite is a cliché - Telling that, before the Prophet and the Holy book, that arabian tribes were only bunches of bandits, looting and women&cattle abducting is a cliché But in both case, Christianity brings some good and bad things and Arabia wasn't a state Do not think because I can't handle english better than french that my knowledge of civilizations history is peanut

Please stop talking nonsense and stereotyps about us, as we do about your cultures (Iran is not Egypt, but they are historically muslims). If I wanted to speak crudely, I'd say that, Europe didn't wait for the coming of Christianity to become a civilisation, while in Saudia Arabia only lived buncgs of tribes, waging razzia, stealing women and cattle.  Middle East didn't wait for the coming of the Holy Book to become civilized. Hammurabi didn't wait for the coming of Angels to establish its code of Rules & Laws. Iraqians are far more than just Muslims, and they are damn right when they currently claiming for their historical inheritance against US politics & historical point of view. ARCHIMEDES, A GREEK CITIZEN OF THE SYRACUSE CITY DIDN'T WAIT FOR YOUR GOLDEN AGE TO CALCULATE, NEARLY 2000 YEARS AGO, THE VALUE OF PI  As you can read, I can SHOUT too. We'll be able to debate openly when each others would know enough about the other culture And in your analysis, you forgot to speak about the Chinsese civilization, far more advanced than both of us civilizations (I'd really like to have the point of view and knowledge of asian people) THE WORLD HAD NEVER TURN EXCLUSIVELY AROUND MONOTHEISTIC RELIGIONS I've learn far more things speaking peacefully with python3, than arguing about ME, ME, ME, ME with others. ;) I don't need to wage an intellectual war to feel good about me  And I'd like to say, and it can't be contested, that all theses civilisations had advanced thanks to different kinds of exchange (trade, knowledge, political alliances,...), and not while erecting Walls around its culture. A culture without evolution capacity is a culture doomed to disappear....

Now I think you are starting to understand how our societies are different. And this does not mean we are less or more tolerent. Our history have us made others choice, however, because we don't want to forget the bloody past and we don't want to make the same mistakes. We made these mistakes because we didn't want to find all the things we can share alltogether. anyone that didn't want to be like you was the enemy  . True for the catholics, true for protestants). that why we made the choice (the French concept of Universalism was born during the XXVIII° century AD, and very slowly has developped) to create a community based on all the rights and duty we can share, leaving what can divide us for the private life. However, the battle still goes on (against integrists of ALL kind, and fear and misunderstanding that put a hard brake to intregration, just because of the orign) And for me, I'm pleased for having the opportunities to discuss with other cultures, discovering our differences and maybe our shared  points (hope sounds right  )

    The Iraq Thread 2

We, and the Iraqis should feel lucky that the Bush administration belongs to the Axe of Good. Someone should have tell them than Manicheism is not representative of the world. And thanks to them, young americans are risking their life for strategic et political error (et for some people's bank account, hey Mr Cheney  ) And thanks to them Volonteers for suicide are coming "wave by wave", attracted by the adds : Welcome to Iraq, as the American soldier Hunt season is opened

Not at all. I learned about it during a muslim religious information broadcast in France. In my country, every sunday morning, you have a broadcast of each : catholic, protestant, muslim, bouddist (I hope I forgot no one) And I particulary like when broadcasts propose to us some  calm debates about religious problems between spiritual leaders of different religions Â

You are kidding I hope ? Maybe it was true inside some "kingdoms", but not everywhere. In southern Europe, under the turkish muslim domination, the people had to change faith. Don't write as you would like the real History to be. And the Muslims have felt betrayed bt jews, in the past history of Saudia Arabia when the Prophet was alive  And please don't start to argue about the first who invade the other, I'll be able to go in the past really farther than you ! A sensless battle currently
