could i do that, and will the drivers be xp verified?

to change direct x setting goto start then run and type in dxdiag and hit run

i get sound distortion with my soudblaster live 1024 running resistance with xp pro, ive tryed all that turning off sound acceleration in direct x, didnt work and ive tryed old and new drivers and still nothin

Anyone one know of any methods or downloads to sort out this sound problem. I have a sound blaster live 1024 pci xp pro and with resistance. I cant find any solutions so if anyone can post some helpful advice id be greatful. other than get a new soundcard
