As you might've already found out modeling for OFP will be extremely dificult and will require some time. I would advise: get 3D Studio MAX 3,4 or whatever make the model there and then import it in o2. Then make alll the lods and perfect it , then texture. About the two years......wait and see

Sorry for breaking your nice and peaceful conversation guys but I can't figure one thing out and i thought that this would be a top place to write it (im sorry if it's not). Can some1 of u gurus tell me how the hell to select a face and noth the face under it like a "Ignore Backface" function in 3dSMAX. I'm really desperate as i cant properly t3exture without such a function.

I have taken the us soldier model and heavily modified it - added a head set took the helmet away and changed it for a Russian officer's hat, added a PLCE back pack, now it all looks great in o2 and in buldozer: 306 kb image but when i run it in game the backpack and the headset fall to the groung and stay at feet level even when the soldier moves, someone please tell me what im doing wrong.

Problem solved, took some time to figure out but i finally did, for those who experience these problem a hint: it has to do with naming components.

I seem to have the same problem, but in my case the solution doesnt work Can someone advise something else, i cant load .gif, .tga or .pac files. -
Well ive solved the proble turns out that when i choose the DLL folder some bug activated. For those who'll have this problem here's the solution: Go to RegEdit in windows fing Software::Bohemia Software andchange the value of /DLL key to nothing. cheers

After i autherised my Oxygen everything worked fine, i configured it even maneged to import some models and polay around with them, after that i left (closed Oxy of cource) and when i came back tried to start it up and it gave an MFC Error, I have no clue what i have done wrong and what needs to be done. Please some give me a hand as I have been struggling to get O2 for 3 months. Please help....

Objektiv is older version of Oxygen, the new version is called Objektiv2........in short O2 which is what gave Oxygen its name. U cant download it, u have to apply to BIS.

Yes it is possible though u have to turn it into a .cpp file using either the OFPInternal's BinEdit tool or some other way.

We need more people who can easily provide us with topographic data, DEM's etc. that way the work can be done efficientlyand faster.

I just have 2 points to make: 1) I agree with Hudsom, Island creation takes a lot of effort especially when you're trying to go to every little detail. The group I'm assembling is called InternalEditing will SPECIALIZE in creating HISTORICALLY and TOPOGRAPHICALY ACCURATE terrain. 2) This thread was created to recrut people for good cause to help other people, it wasn't created to argue if someone already released an island (bytheway thefirst island was created by Skytheman) It took him 5 day to perfect it.
