Did anyone else get a texture bug for the 67 Camaro? I can't get that car into the game because it says it's missing a texture file.

Ok, so we've got the c130...
AdmiralKarlDonuts replied to Aculaud's topic in ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Banking it would be totally realistic - just be sure to put a HUD in the pilot's left-hand window. Though it would probably only be a human-controlled weapon....damn cool for MP! -
Huh? Taliban law? No, it isn't...and it wouldn't be...I don't see your point.

I agree the the American media picks very random things to overhype as it does, and picks very random stories to conspicously leave out. Â I read the papers every day and I'm amazed at all the trivial shit that is deemed "newsworthy." Â Here's why - the media is a business too. Â The editors and publishers print what sells papers, and to Joe Six-Pack, that's what's going on at home. Â There are those of us who do care about the rest of the world, but we seem to be mostly overlooked, because we're too smart to play the media game. In no way is the American media state-controlled. Â You wouldn't have Watergate, Agent Orange, bombings in Cambodia, or the Iran-Contra affair if it wasn't for the media - you think the government wanted all that stuff leaked? </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">Yup. Only in the good ol' US of A does it make headlines and is milked for all its worth by government controlled media for years to come. Bush is saying "My fellow americans, i want you to remember something. Remember this day. Because it is this day........that will serve as our excuse to bomb the shit out of the middle east."<span id='postcolor'> This is very insulting, regardless of whether or not you want it to be or not. Â Blowing off the WTC events is NOT the solution to that problem.
-
When I first heard of the terrorist attacks, my classmates and I had just come back inside from a game of football at school. Â As we were getting changed back into regular clothes for the rest of the day, guys started seeing text messages on their cell phones about a plane hitting the WTC. Â We thought it must have been some accident at first, but over the next fwe minutes we managed to get to a TV, where at least 40 of us stood transfixed watching the footage on MSNBC. Â As the plane hit the tower over and over again there were muttered curses and gasps from all around the room. Â The teacher didn't seem to notice as someone loudly said "those motherf*ckers!". Â We all just stared. As the day went on we kept hearing rumors of other attacks as we went from class to class. Â Somone said they'd hit Camp David, someone else said they hit the NY State House. Â Most of them were false reports, but we got more and more riled up anyway. Â At the end of the day, kids stood in the cafeteria watching the news, yes, the news, something kids never do at school. Â Nobody said anything, but we watched as the anchors described the flight of Air Force One around the country and the scrambling of fighters from different Air Force bases. Â It was incredible that everything stopped that day. Â None of the teachers taught anything else, and frankly nobody cared. Â I think the biggest crime I've seen in the rememberance of the 11th, at least in my school community, is the lack of rememberance of the guys over in Afghanistan who put their lives on the line for us. Â The war may be winding down now, but in those first few months, the danger was clear and present for all of them. Â I don't want to let this day go by without paying tribute to them, as everyone should. Â In particular let's keep in mind Neal C. Roberts, a Navy SEAL who was knocked out of a Chinook in a hot LZ and captured by the Taliban fighters. Â He was thrown from the chopper as it took fire and his absence went unnoticed for a few minutes as they all checked themselves for injuries and battled to get the chopper out of harm's way. Â A Predator UAV near the LZ spotted him and witnessed his execution minutes later. Â He was shot in the head at close range by his captors, hands tied behind his back. His story is one of the few failures of "leave no man behind." I hope to God it never happens again. So, on this day, let's not forget how a small band of terrorists can strike us a hard blow. Â Let's not forget that their plan of dividing us and sending us into chaos backfired completely, as we all banded together to strike back and stand tall. Â Let's not forget our friends overseas who stand with us in this. Â Let's not forget those firefighters and policemen who made the ultimate sacrifice for people they didn't and would never know. Â And lastly, let's not forget our servicemen, both American and foreign, who are fighting to eradicate those responsible for these acts. Â I salute the British, the Canadians, and everyone else who fights alongside us. Never forget September 11th, and never forget what we made of it.

A few things... Pistols are way too accurate...I got a 150m head shot, through a window, with a Beretta - not possible. Mag capacity for the Beretta is wrong. When holding a pistol and crouched, aim down as far as you can. Â The guy will look like his hands are hooked behind his knee - clipping problem with the model itself. The AI seems to be all screwy when using pistols. Â For example, my black op armed with an MP5 would rather pull out the Glock when fighting in a town...it's like if he sees a target within 50m he goes to the pistol...make him stop! Â Also, if a guy armed with only a pistol picks up a rifle, and there are no targets around, he doesn't switch to the bigger gun....makes no sense. Â I have to order him to drop the pistol, then pick it up again before he'll use the rifle.

Overall I thought this was a great demo pack for the mod...I feel like I've been cheated because they only showed me this much...the rest must be even better. Though a few things seemed a little off to me. The tank seems a little overpowered. It has a 105mm gun, according to the weapon selector on the HUD, but it does far more damage than the Abrams' 120mm gun. Plus its armor seems overdone. Just for testing I set up me in a Leopard, and an empty T80, Abrams, and Leopard. I took out the Abrams in 2 shots, the T80 in 2, and the Leopard in 1. But, in a Abrams, it took like 4 shots to destroy a Leopard. Odd. The rocket launcher has some blue tint on it that makes it very noticable at long range. I set myself up as a PK gunner and had a German squad attack my town, and I saw the RL guy first because of the slight blue shade. Plus I think the rocket flies too fast and is too accurate. There was no sensation of the rocket actually leaving the tube...when I fired it it just wasn't there anymore. I agree on the faces...at least make them beardless. The rocketjump thing is funny as hell. I rocketjumped from Saint Pierre all the way to the airport on Everon without touching the ground...took me almost half an hour. But anway it's a good demo and I can't wait for the rest of it!

Here's an update from the story side of things - This campaign (only one, so it's not really a Mod anymore) is going to involve a large-scale conventional war between the US and Soviet Union in Europe, set around 1984. As it's a smaller scale-endeavour now, the number of addons we have to make has gone down a bit. Kegetys has come up with a working RPG7 and the best looking RPK I've seen yet.
-
The only thing I noticed was on the Ak107 I can stand up and blast out a clip on full auto with absoultely no recoil at all. Is the gun really that way?
-
Oh yeah, almost forgot.... Several of the addons posted earlier already exist, so it's not as daunting a task as it seems. TOW, RPK, Humvee w/MG (in the works), Dragon, MiG (not 19 but 29, which is even better ) and such are already out there...just a matter of maybe consolidating the list a little and then modding the ones that are left, that by that time, shouldn't be that many. And Ran, what's up with the LB Mod site? The homepage is now some crazy administrator login screen

Anybody from the Operation Flashpoint Editing Center who recognizes me should know that I've taken an interest in this mod/campaign too. *SEAL hopes his credentials there carry over at least a little bit...* Anyhow I'll be working with Jakerod in some capacity if it gets rolling.

The infamous big gap in briefings
AdmiralKarlDonuts posted a topic in OFP : MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
So I write up my briefing, just the first copy, and I test it out to make sure everything works right, but on the second page I'm greeted with a huge space between lines, for no good reason. Does anyone know what causes this and how to fix it? -
The infamous big gap in briefings
AdmiralKarlDonuts replied to AdmiralKarlDonuts's topic in OFP : MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
Thanks dudes. I went with the first option (using Sui's kindly provided briefing code as a template) and set up links to different pages. -
You know, the gunner in the Russian boat is modeled holding his gun sorta like a Huey door gunner would left hand on top of the butt, right hand on the trigger...check it out. Maybe you could use that pose for the gunners.

SEALs armed with Barett 50 cals can take out an M60 Patton tank at over 500 yards. I doubt the current-generation tanks (T80, M1A2) have much to wory about though. Why do tanks need such big guns to fight other tanks? The answer lies in ERA, my friends. Explosive Reactive Armor. The vehicle itself might be fine after getting hit with a 50 round, maybe a little hole in the side, but the crew sure aint. Imagine a round as big as a fifty cal rattling around inside something as cramped as a tank turret - the crew would get killed five times over by the same bullet. Use it on an MBT and you're not likely to hit anything important under all that armor. The crew is your target.

As soon as you get the finished copy out, could you mail me one? Looks like a damn cool weapon. NeilRem@aol.com

it's not that big a thing to just add it into the init field of the unit...it's like two commands. I don't think they'll waste the time making a patch for that.
-
Another problem... i hope you realize that you can only suppress the M4, not silence it like the mp5. A suppressed m4 has less recoil and can't be heard past about 100 yards, which ain't much when you think about it, but it's better than having the thing roaring away and pointing to your position like a neon sign. You'd need a custom sound too - muffled but still a lot louder than the mp5.

One of my buddies was a Sarge in the US army a few years back, and almost everyone who could get his hands on a pistol did, especially vehicle crews, machinegunners and officers. Somebody said a while back that there aren't any fists in OFP - there are. Doesn't anyone know about weapon "strokefist" or "strokegun"? They work and they're funny as hell!
