I'm a bit bothered by this too. Sometimes I like to play in third person, and while it's not very realistic, I play the game to have fun. Having the crosshair be a physical object is the best (or only?) solution I have seen. But it should not change size, as that doesn't look very good. I don't know how difficult it would be to have it retain the same size no matter the distance, but it would be cool. It's not that big deal for me though, as I usually play in first person and without crosshairs.

To be fair, the two videos that were recently released of OFP: Elite showcases features that will probably also be in Armed Assault. We got a look at how the grass were implemented, and how vegetation would move with the wind and be affected helicopter rotors. There was also bump mapping (or normal mapping?) and detail texturing. Lastly, we got to see more of the updated water, which looks very good And correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't we get a look at insects in the first video? I also thought the explosions looked a little updated. Not to forget the bouncing grenade, even if that's not exactly new I could understand complaining a month or two back, when we hadn't heard anything in a long time. I complained too back then. But right now I'm satisfied with what we have.

I think he means that it's awesome or great. He really likes it anyway WHile I haven't seen the trailer, I have to say how much fun part one is so far. I'm up to the part with the chopper landing by the hospital and unloading the soldiers. So far it has been one of the most atmospheric campaigns/missions I have ever played. And it's very similar to how I expect STALKER to be. I don't really see any problem with the linearity of the campaign either. Just because you're using the OFP engine, doesn't mean that you have to have nonlinear levels. It's probably a lot more difficult to script certain events too, as you never know where the player might be. Good work! I'm looking forward to part two Now back to trying to get past the soldiers by the hospital

Good point, didn't think about that. But in that case they should hurry to get a publisher

What catched my interest in OFP was an E3 movie (or something like that) I saw once. That is the reason why I downloaded the demo on my 300 Mhz, 64 MB RAM, Voodoo 3 2000. It barely ran, but what I saw of it was enough to make me get a new computer faster, so that I could play it. It was the perfect mission chosen for the demo, and it really showed what Operation Flashpoint is all about. And with the (unofficial) release of a map editor, a lot of other missions were released too. This of course made me get the game as soon as it was released, and since then it has almost never left my hard drive. But with Armed Assault we have a press release giving a bit information, a few very nice screens, and an, in my opinion, not very informative interview. If you want to sell the game to other people than OFP fans, you should really release some videos or something to renew the interest in the game. There are a huge market for realistic and tactical military/war games, and with the latest Rainbow Six game going away from this, maybe you have the opportunity to get some R6 fans to go over to OFP It'd probably be best to make a new thread about this problem, but we all know what might happen then Just kidding, I understand that suggestion threads and similar threads get locked, I have no problem with that.

NEW Interview with Bohemia Interactive on ArmA...

I doubt there will be any advertising before they get a publisher at least. The developers don't normally do the advertising, right? -
Thanks! Of course I didn't think to look in the obvious place

Is there a mirror for this? I really want to try it, but the link doesn't work as mentioned already.

Is the bottom left one supposed to point to the wheel or the soldier's legs?
-
You're right, I haven't noticed that before! That's a nice touch

Y2k3, MiG's Animal Pack

I've never noticed any performance decrease because of number of addons. The loading times are much longer, but I don't think there is anything else. I currently have 1.82 GB of addons that I load everytime I play, and i don't feel any difference from when I had just reinstalled it.

The top two pictures reminds me of The Matrix It looks great by the way, can't wait until it's released

I think the error is the one that have always existed when using ECP. I seem to remember that it sounds similar to that, at least.

This looks real http://www.gops.it/foto/NAM-Ashau-upload2.jpg Great job, AimPoint!

You have a choice between exploding bodies, and not. It just depends on which config you use.

Same here. It would be appreciated, as I have everything except what's added for 6.0

DXDLL 1.0 (not Geforce MX compatible)

You can turn off postprocessing effects, I think that will disable it. I know there's another way, but I can't remember what. -
New release date worldwide: Spring 2006?
Skulleye replied to TheLemon's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Yeah, that must be why they recommended us not to buy it because it's not a game. When it was released, BIS said in many posts that no one should buy it thinking it was a game, and that it was not meant for us. -
I didn't know you could make the AI have such advanced behaviour. Like how the planes maneuver for example. Good job
-
That was very good! Are you able to do all this in single player, or do other people help you in multi player?
-
Alright, I can try it. If FADE activates, I needed a reinstall anyway EDIT: Tried it for a while with 1.96. Everything worked fine, and I didn't experience any crashes. I guess it's not necessary for me to try it with 1.91 then, as it seems that it's only you who have that problem. But you could try it yourself if you still have the .exe for 1.91. Thanks for the link to the trainer btw
-
That's too much work, it'd be much better if I could just start a trainer, and then run around invincible I want them to shoot at me without me being hurt. About 1.96 compatibility, have you tried with 1.91 instead? Maybe it works with that.
-
"Oh trust me...FADE is real alright. Major Fubar, try to change some stuff in the OFP exe and you'll find out for yourself" This is a quote by Sith from BIS, in this thread. And then this from the same thread: " Dude, only unofficial tools might cause Fade (only of they change the core code)." So if the trainer modifies the .exe, or some other "core code", it'll probably activate FADE. If you find out that it doesn't activate FADE, can you post it here so we know? I've always wanted to run around in a mission (previously completed, no cheating) and have fun without worrying about being killed

I downloaded every movie from your old ftp, and am in the process of watching them. I really liked the one where you played with FDF 1.3. I haven't seen any longer than that, but I'll be sure to give feedback when I've seen more
