NIM Dynamic Weather (ArmA2 Compatible!)
Skulleye replied to Binkowski's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Is there any way to have it automatically activated in all missions? Like just put it in the addons folder and then it works :) -
Thanks, will try it tomorrow. I always enjoyed your campaigns, especially the one for OFP with 200+ missions (I think) :D

Downloaded missions not showing up
Skulleye replied to GunSlingerAUS's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - USER MISSIONS
WinRAR is the best tool. I've not encountered a single packed file that couldn't be opened with it. It even supports .iso and such. www.rarsoft.com And remember that all missions are either a .pbo or I think they can be a folder with the contents too. Most of them are .pbo though. -
A lot of the co-op missions can be pretty fun with just you and AI. Make sure to choose the commander role though, in case the mission doesn't support AI commanders. I played some of the Kyllikki missions tonight and had a lot of fun with them. Managed to complete the hostage mission and the one with three tunguskas.

Downloaded missions not showing up
Skulleye replied to GunSlingerAUS's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - USER MISSIONS
Try putting them in My Documents/ArmA2/MPMissions, maybe that'll make them show up. -
What I did was start a mission, I think it was "Take the car" from the converted OFP missions. I ran a few meters, saved, ran a few meters again and loaded. This worked fine. But when trying to load a game I had saved before using the addon I crashed. Maybe it worked for me only because I hadn't quit out of the mission in the meantime? I'll test some more. Edit: You know what? Disregard everything I have said. This was an extreme case of the placebo effect, as I had forgotten to load the addon :D I'm going to try it again, this time with the addon loaded. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Edit 2: Now it's crashing. I am dumb :)
-
Edit: Disregard this. In my stupidity I managed to forget loading the addon. It was just the placebo effect ;) HeinBloed is correct about the loading of saves. This is a little misleading. You can't load saves you've already made without the addon, but it's fine to save and load missions while the addon is loaded. Thanks for this :) Edit: After playing some more with this; this is what BIS should have done for ArmA 2. There were lots of complaints with how intense the HDR was in Armed Assault, but this is pretty much perfect. There are some difference when looking towards the sun, just like in real life, but you don't get the whole screen dark just because the sun is in the corner of your view. Thanks again for your effort!

AI Real in-game Dialog System [DSAI]
Skulleye replied to Thunderbird's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Hmm.. I'll have to check it again then. I'm pretty sure I've heard it as a commander while standing next to another group's commander too. -
AI Real in-game Dialog System [DSAI]
Skulleye replied to Thunderbird's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Isn't this how the game already works. I've been hiding in a house and listening to the enemy officer outside commanding his men around. -
Delaying the bear, AI unresponsive
Skulleye replied to reb's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - OFFICIAL MISSIONS
Same here. Reverted 'Delaying the bear' and this time the AI works in both that mission and the following one :) -
Patch 1.02 makes image blurry
Skulleye replied to Helmut_AUT's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Nah, I've noticed the same. If you set post-processing to 'disabled', then the game won't remember next time it's started. It seems to automatically set it to 'high' or 'very high'. Fill rate matches normal res. -
ArmA2 1.03 Impressions - ALL Impressions/Videos/Screenies Here
Skulleye replied to Placebo's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
It's a seperate category like units, waypoints and triggers. Press F7. -
You can still do this the same way as you would in OFP. As for what rundll.exe said, you can command all your units to move somewhere by holding the button for "Commanding mode" and clicking at a spot.
-
Do you have links to your other campaigns? I'm at my parents' house now, and only have access to my laptop without ArmA. But based on the feedback in this thread, I would love to try any Operation Flashpoint campaigns you have. Thanks in advance

Isn't the new thing with Elite and Armed Assault that shadows are cast on models too and not only on the terrain? At least that's what I've got from all the pictures I've looked at.

Idea Games NOT publishing Armed Assault/
Skulleye replied to Espectro (DayZ)'s topic in ARMA - GENERAL
Good point. Just release a demo, advertise for it, and don't implement Starforce with it -
Well, it is a good way to show how much different you can do with the OFP engine. As well, I don't know any other game with melee fighting and this huge environments. With the right amount of effort, we might get a Total War mod, just in first person perspective. Doesn't that sound fun? And I imagine that he has fun with doing this too. That he likes having challenges and to overcome them
-
I don't really like when ArmA is mentioned in the same sentence as BF2. It degrades us all. Â The point is probably that a lot of people know how Battlefield 2 works. Wouldn't it be nice if some BF2 players see that, try the game, and then come over to OFP instead?
-
Shadow NX already answered your question. It adds new islands, no converting. So you have to open up an island in the list which has NORDIC in it.
-
But you were the first one with a horse, right? You are also the first one with a released swordfighting, and now even archery, addon. You are a pioneer, and you shouldn't be ashamed if others catch up with you after a while. Because by then you are already at work with breaking another OFP engine limit. And just looking how fast you release new addons, it's amazing! The Operation Flashpoint community wouldn't be the same without you. Keep up the good work!
-
Wasn't that Placebo? And wasn't it you who conducted the interview? Edit: Oops, it was XeLSiS, don't know why I thought it was you. But you do have it on your website
-
Of course. I don't mean that you shouldn't have the option. I'm just saying that I don't think the game gets more realistic if you disable waypoints, because you won't get enough information. I feel that the most realistic current option is how Veteran difficulty does it, by fading the waypoint marker after a few seconds. I'm all for having the possibility of enabling/disabling everything. More power to the user!
-
Yeah, that wasn't really necessary. At least give a warning. Otherwise it looks really good! This one is supposed to be more freeform? I hope you have managed to preserve the excellent atmosphere from part 1. I imagine that might be harder when the game isn't linear anymore.
-
It wouldn't be very realistic to disable the waypoint indicators, as you don't get detailed enough instructions from your squad leader. If you're told "Go to bush 9 o' clock" and you see bushes all around you, what are you supposed to do? Or you can be ordered to "Engage target 12 o' clock". Hmm.. is it the car over there, or maybe the BMP? Note: It's a long time since I've played, so I'm not sure that my examples are valid. But I think similar situations can happen at least
