Now it happened to me! I am using v1.30 OFP with RedHammer add-on. When running 1.40 patch the OFP splash screen appeares and CD rom turns 10 secs....after that NOTHING! All previous updates has worked OK in my PC while others have had problems with 1.30. Why you can't just do a patch without that CD check that doens't work?

An update: I removed DirectCD and all other CD burning programs I had in my PC and now update went through w/o any errors....
