    Operation vietnam dead ?

Dont worry..we're still alive and kicking We just dont go around telling the community of every single step we take like some other mods do... We'll post some news when we actually have something important to tell/show you all

    Ofp: resistance

It's very likely there will be a new version of OFP containing both the original game as the Resistance addon.

    Independence lost

FYI, it's rather unlikely that IL is OFP2 (has never been said by BIS or anything, and it doesnt really look like a full blown successor). And yes, there'll probably be some time between the release dates of Resistance and IL.

    Sounds like mortar

</span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote (LordZach @ April 19 2002,02:52)</td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">there was a lame little "deploy m2" script (i think, not sure since the damn thing was in german) in BTL that would show up on the action menu, make some pallets that magically went down and turned into a m2, which wasn't fireable because it was probably locked. Â i think it would be cool to have a mortar set up like that, then have HE or illumination rounds or whatever set up like you change between heat and sabot. maybe he's just hiding a mortar launcher in that "pistol holster" Â <span id='postcolor'> Did they use that script in that commercial BTL campaign??? That script was made by DnA and me for our Conquest project. The probably ripped it from the trailer we made a while ago... They never even asked us whether they could use it. How's that for shameless forgery! Edit: And that script was just a placeholder for a more extensive script we were working on. It still had numerous bugs and other glitches in it

    Gun alignment - infantry

C'mon guys.....keep it nice now. GFX: no need to start slagging off some1 for posting his ideas/suggestions. If you're so damn 1337 at coming up with good improvements to OFP, please post them instead of picking on others, or atleast try to be a bit more constructive in your criticism. Markov: Your idea sounds good, but like Espectro said, all anims done in 1st p view are also shown in 3rd person view etc. And I think it might get a bit too clumsy when you have so many controls to worry about when you want to fire your weapon.

    Opf on xbox

</span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">B: the hardware is at least a year behind what PCs at the same time have C: 0 expanadbility, patchability and lack of controls..<span id='postcolor'> One thing you seem to forget is the fact that the X-Box has a much more efficient architecture than a 'standard' PC (in terms of data transfer and such). This means it's optimised for stuff like games, thus able to outperform a PC with similar and often even higher specs. A console is able to produce better graphics because it doesnt have to waste any processor power and memory to an operating system, it doesnt have any hardware conflicts and it's designed to have the least possible bottlenecks. Added to that is the fact that a console game can be designed to use 100% of it's target system resources. PC games simply cant do that because they have to be designed to run on an almost infinite number of system setups, all having their own limits and characteristics which have to be taken into account. And the XB indeed does have a harddisk, so you CAN in fact patch and expand the game.

    Dutch government resigns over srebrenica

</span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">Or, they wouldnt have dared to go on with the attack fearing what would happened afterwards. Or, the UN seeing the distress of the Dutch forces would send reinforcements. Or, the 7000 males of Screbrenica who had nothing to lose would have joined in the defense. Or, it might have given the civilians more time so some could escape. We will never know.<span id='postcolor'> Well....you know the UN, they'd probably launch an airstrike or 2 against some Serb positions....but then quickly decide to cancel them because the Serbs would simply threaten to kill some of the hostages (including the Dutch UN troops) they made in Srebrenica. And 7000 civilians joining the UN troops to defend a town? What weapons/equipment would they be able to operate? Knowing how limited the equipment of the Dutch troops was (some light APCs and AT weapons...they only had to server as local 'police force', right?), what could the Dutch forces spare? Believe me, even IF they could give those 7000 civs a weapon of some sort, what good would it be against a well trained and well equiped 3500 men army, complete with tanks and artillery? As the town was completely surrounded, escaping wasnt an option either I'm really sorry if I sound like a want to "defend" the events that happened or something.....far from it. I'd simply like to point out that IMO the troops stationed there at that very time should not be blamed for the situation. Although I do admit that I, just like everyone else here, probably know too little of what actually happened there to form any objective opinion. </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">Well, I dont know what I would have done. I know I couldnt cope very well with the fact that I let 7 000 men get slaughtered though.<span id='postcolor'> I think no sane human being really would. That's why we are now facing this governmental crisis. And that's why there have been numerous suicides among former DutchBAT soldiers in the past years

    Dutch government resigns over srebrenica

</span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote (Longinius @ April 17 2002,07:19)</td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">As far as I am concerned the UN is to blaim. And the commanding officer. Yes, you are supposed to follow orders but only so far. I have little respect for anyone who stands idly by and lets people get slaughtered. They should have made a stand. Yeah, I know, its easy to say for me cause I wasnt there. But that is why THEY were there. To protect the people of Screbrenica. They didn't exactly do a very good job.<span id='postcolor'> Look at it this way: What would've happened if the Dutch forces would have decided to act against the UN regulations and keep the Serbs out by force? Those 3500 Serb forces would've launched an all-out assault on Srebrenica, which in turn would lead to MUCH more casualties. They'd simply level the whole place, killing like 10000...15000 civs in the proces. And the Dutch forces? They'd all get killed aswell. The Dutch forces sent there were merely meant (and equipped) to keep order, not to go head to head with a full Serb army. Besides that, they had their hands tied behind their backs because of all the UN rules imposed on them. It might sound rather horrible...but if I would've been the local Dutch commander in that situation, I think I would've made a similar decision.

Info on restiance that was removed from codemaster

Guys please... This stuff isnt supposed to be public. If some of you want to check it all out and discuss the plot and new features, please do so using Private Messages and email. But please DONT post it on a public forum where everyone that doesnt want to know will stumble across it too... I'm closing this thread now....not because of 'censorship' or anything, but for the people that dont want to read it.

Two words for ofpr: rivers & bridges

Resistance will hit the shops in about 2 months....so I guess it'll go gold in about a month. The chances that they'll add more 'requested' features within a month from the deadline are like...practically non-existant Dont get your hopes up too high

    Why is mission editor

Moving... I think you placed the choppers too close to eachother....thus OFP detects the possible clipping that might occur and places them a bit further apart.

    Ancient mod idea

Hey hey...calm down Snype. The guy is just posting his thoughts, no need to start calling him names or anything. Dionysos: it's a nice idea...and I think quite a few modders already gave it some thought (I know I did ), but like advocatexxx pointed out, it wont work unless you do some major rewriting on the OFP engine...and that's something you wont be doing for 'just a mod'...

New game by bohemia interactive is out on 11 of ap

I really like the cell shaded environments No need to worry for all you OFP fans fearing this might be BIS' "next big thing"... It's a game for kids (secretly implanting the urge to play OFP2 when they grow up in their minds ), highly likely not to be released outside of the Czech Republic (and maybe some neighbouring countries).
