Nah, Celtic fans are in love with Barca just now. You should see the number of kids with 'Larsson 7' Barca shirts over here! In fact, there's even some formal agreement between the clubs to lend out players on loan.
-
Anyone have links to the D-Day footage? I remember watching it and wondering if he was repeating the lines somehow, but just dismissed it as some technical glitch. Would be interesting to see it again.
-
In the fridge? Â Did you try to quit beer, but end up stopping smoking instead? Â
-
Yep, i agree. I used the quitnet counter thingy to track how much i was saving. I then went out and bought a new digital camera with what i'd saved. The 'carrot' of more money, and the 'stick' of poor health/lung cancer worked for me!
-
Quite simply...peer pressure.
-
I started at age 13. I think it's just all about the situation you grew up in, and your exposure to smoking. It's a cultrual thing i suppose.
-
Aye, the stats are good....but i'd like to know what the hell i did with that extra Å2500! How long have you been quit for? The first 1-2 weeks are the worst....after that - you've got it beat (barring major slip-ups). Another good site. And know thy enemy....
-
First of all - well done! Making the decision is the biggest of all! I recommend signing up at Quitnet. There's loads of info, and people who will cheer you on in 'support groups' like only our American cousins can! The best thing about the site though is the quit-counter thing. Here's my 'stats'.... Also, i got Nicotene Patches free from our National Health Service. I reccommend them....they really helped me. Good luck! Â Edit: Just noticed the topic title also mentioned quiting alchohol...... why in god's name would you want to do that? That concept just doesn't compute over here in Glasgow Â

Sad day indeed. R.I.P. Cloughie Â

Sorry, i think i'm getting you mixed up with someone else. Last time i was around here, i recall someone with an avatar like yours being a big BNP fan. BNP voters are not renowned for their ability to be open minded about what a 'Brit' is. Anyway...my point is that you can't just dismiss 'Hunting with dogs' as a "toff" thing. This ban will affect people on all rungs of the socio-economic ladder. The ones with most to lose are on the farm workers etc.
-
So what did he do when he himself only mortally wounded the animal, allowing it to escape before he could fire a 2nd shot? Did he beat himself up with guilt? Perhaps he attended some hunters counselling sessions? Â Â I think you'll find "them toffs" are Brits too. Or maybe not...how are things down at the BNP social club these days anyway?
-
Drag hunting is still 'Hunting with dogs', and will therefore be banned under this legislation.
-
So you participated in an unneccessary, cruel bloodsport....but that's ok, as you didn't enjoy it!? Â Please explain how Fishing is legally justifiable, yet Foxhunting isn't?
-
The irony is that the "dickheads" getting smashed in the face weren't the aristocracy or 'posh' people. The militant protesters were mostly the working class people employed by the foxhunting industry. I.e. the people with most to lose - their livelyhoods. So your objection to it is based on it being cruel to animals? In that case, where is your moral outrage towards Fishing...or animal testing....or factory farming? Ahh, now you agree that this is a class issue, and little to do with animal cruelty? Let's remember, we're talking...what... 50 foxes killed in hunts each year? So fishing is ok, because it's a working class sport accessible to everyone? Is that how we judge the legality of unneccessary, cruel bloodsports - how popular they are? Â
-
I take it you don't eat fish then? As fishing causes unneccessary pain and suffering on the animal. Should we ban fishing too (the UK's most popular sport)? In fact i bet you have friends or family who go fishing. Are they "fucked up" people too? Also, what about that steak you ate last week. Can you be absolutely certain that the cow didn't feel any pain as the bolt was fired through its brain? I suppose it's hard to feel so morally outraged when Big Macs taste soooo good! Â Â
-
How about 'vermin control'? Anyway, they're not rare. Current population of 258,000. How many foxes are killed per year in hunts? 20-30?
-
This whole issue does seem to stink of 'Old Labour' getting one over the Aristocracy, or "toffs". There's certainly more to it than protecting the lives of a few foxes.
-
Pah! Next you'll be telling me that the Loch Ness Monster isn't real! Â Â Â

This thread making you hungry? We Scots can fix that! Why not try a lovely Haggis? The Haggis is a wild animal that lives in the Highlands of Scotland. The Haggis hunting season begins when they hatch (30 November) until 25 January. The 31st of December is particularly anticipated by Haggis hunters as it is when great herds of Haggii migrate north for winter. See the HaggisHunt site for more info. Mmmmmmm! Â Or perhaps you'd prefer the healthy option? http://www.washtimes.com/upi-breaking/20040809-055045-1297r.htm

According to UEFA, the attendance was 16002. That's pathetic for such an important game for Italy. It seems the Italians prefer to stay at home accusing others of cheating  thats because there was like 10 bulgarian fans maybe more Nah.... Italy has a population of 56 million, yet only 15,500 of their so-called football mad population can be bothered to turn up for a vital Euro Championship game? In my book, a country that supports their team as poorly as that doesn't have any right to expect to qualify. The Swedes, Danes and Latvians showed how to support your country. As did the English 40,000 who went to the Croatia game. (minus any hooligans of course) Not too aware of it, but does anyone else think that the Dutch anthem sounds a bit like 'The twelve days of Christmas'? Â

But did you see how many empty seats there were in the stadium? Italy are one of Europes footballing superpowers, yet their fans can't be bothered to go an watch them play? Sweden and Denmark are comparitively small countries, yet their fans filled the ground and made a great atmosphere. The Italian fans (and team?) have become complacent. I think this kick in the arse will do them good Â

Heh, me too! I had Å1 on Latvia winning at Half-Time, then the Czech Rep to win the game. 28-1 odds....now i wish i had bet my entire personal fortune on it  Still can't decide who to go for tonight....The smart money is on The Netherlands, but i'm thinking Germany can pull off a shock...hmm.
