Ok thanks for the confirmation. Still no joy here sadly. Installed game Patched to 1.05 Patched to 1.08 Installed hotfix for 1.08 Creative X-Fi in Game mode Latest drivers from Nvidia for my 7900GT Latest drivers from Creative for the X-Fi Latest OpenAL download. Still get the same last 2 tick boxes not getting ticked when I lauch the game and then the same old error message. Thanks everybody so far, I'm very grateful...What do I do now?

Hi, Thanks for that - I am downloading it again. This is the third different website I am downloading it from, and I've got the right patch have I? - it's the 'International update 105-108' and it's 600mb. The 1.05 patch is definitely the 'European Update 104-105' - that's installed./ So in theory these should work together? Thanks again.

I understand (after much reading) that I need the 1.05 patch, then the 1.08 patch and then the 1.08 hotfix to run ArmA. What a fuss just to get the game running! When I go to install 1.08 after having installed 1.05 I get this message from WinRar: ! E:\Documents and Settings\Ant\Desktop\ArmA_InternationalUpdate105_108.zip: Unexpected end of archive So I wanted to ask, have I downloaded the wrong version of the 1.08 patch? My copy of the game has the '505 Games' logo on it, and given I'm in the UK, I assume I am to use the European Patch versions This is driving me nuts, so any help would be appreciated. I am one of the many who can't get this game t run after install and I suspect it's my Creative X-Fi but I won't know until I've got all the correct patches installed. Thanks for your time, I hope someone will help me.

Thanks Thirdup. I have been through all the recommended advice on the forums that i can find for this problem. I still haven't resolved it. All the drivers are up to date bar the mobo ones. I've yet to disable the X-Fi and resort to motherboard on board sound which I will do tomorrow. Surprising how much effort one has to go to get the demo to work - is the full game (which comes in the post in the next few days) patchable to eliminate these problems? I hope so!

Hello everyone. My first post here so apologies if it ends up in the wrong place. Hope you can help me. Have downloaded the demo version, and it won't run. It's concerning as I have the full game on order due to be delivered in a couple of days and if I can't run the demo then I worry that I won't be able to run the full game My PC: ASUS A8V - XE , AMD 64 4400 X2 (AC 64 Ultra cooled) 7900GT 512mb (Latest Drivers) 250gb WD HD, 2 gb Crucial Ram, Creative X-FI Extreme Music (Latest Drivers) I get a small grey box with little tick boxes that fill up and then get this error: Appname: armademo.exe Appver: 1.6.0.5149 Modname: unknown Modver: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 76724449 I really hope you can help me!
