One of the things about OFP that really got me was the setting; it was so...nice, despite the horrible nasty war going on around. The islands of the original game really got me. Has anyone theorised about where they are, or why the name sare French, or what happened to Kolgujev, or why there are only a few bases on Malden and no civilians? The story of OFP always left these bits out, and I'm dying to answer them. Also, on Resistance, there are a few bits of unfinished plot; what happened to Adam, Liz's husband? Why does Victor say he could have saved him? Where did Victor work? And what happened "30 years ago" on Nogova?
