    School shooting "phenomenom"

Yes indeed as was just stated, Cho Seung-hui knew exactly what he was doing! If you think that you can trust an entire college campus you need a reality check mate! Even people I've known for years have surprised me in the things that they have done. Noone  EVER knows anyone else 100% and as for an entire campus! .... Also as has been said using alcohol to balance statistics is a feeble argument. Alcohol is a social drink enjoyed by millions. It has a function in society even if it is often abused. Hand guns on the other hand have no social function whatsoever if they are being carried around in someone’s pocket other than to be used in anger.

@ Sputnik Monroe you are clearly defending a tradition to bear arms and I would probably do the same in your situation too! I would love to be able to go out and purchase a weapon here in the UK and carry it around with me when I go out shopping etc.! BUT I would also have to understand that every other Tom, Dick and Harry will be doing the same, and that not every Tom, Dick and Harry will be as mentally stable as myself! By allowing freedom of weapons you are creating freedom of use! Â

The most sensible two statements on this debate so far! This could be the reality check the US government needs! ... On the other hand no politician wants to loose their seat so it probably won't be! Â

    Helicopter Taxi

Yes I agree with all those requests. The problem doesn't end there though. We also need realistic boat controls too (separate rudder from throttle and better physics). Cars also do not drift realistically or spin a wheel. The damage model of cars etc is pathetic to say the least! Where does BIS draw the line? And does BIS have a legal obligation not to tread on the toes of other simulators? Either way I for one would love to see total simulation of all vehicles done properly, but will it happen......?? Â

    Shooting problem in AA

Seconded! Just remember if you're gonna use a (early) no DVD crack then expect problems as in a pirated copy. I personally don’t like this having to put disks in all the time to play games either, and I ALWAYS buy a legal copy and then try and install a crack simply to save the disks and my efforts in starting a game too. BUT any alterations to a game is likely to cause copy protection issues so unless you are playing the game as it is written on the tin then don't come complaining here with the possible outcomes!   ArmA has got Fade like copy protection triggers that will cause you to snipe badly, the AI to be super accurate and sometimes you will suddenly become a seagull for no apparent reason! Do more research, try a bit harder! Â

Not according to your profile ...(Birthday Date 28 Jan. 1983 (24) ) And on the subject of suspect profiles has anyone noticed that blackdog~ is 88! Â It should be a requirement for members to fill in ALL fields on the profiles page and lying to be a capital offence! Â

Signatures are a means of expression/advertising clans/mods etc and an excuse to be creative. I don't see the problem as you can choose not to display them as already mentioned.  Some signatures are very cryptic though and make me wonder WTF is in the message! … <span style='font-size:13pt;line-height:100%'>LOL much very!!</span> is my favourite puzzle ATM! Yep, six squid is too much to spend on a load of immature opinions and a dvd full of rubbish demos!

    More wildlife?

Sry, I've been away for a while & will be getting the UK version as soon as I see one in the stores! I hear there will be another patch (1.05) for all versions. Does anyone know if this will add more wildlife to the game? There was talk a while back of BIS releasing deer, sheep and rabbits in future updates. I'de just like to know in case I need to dust off my Remington! Â .... Also useful for those interested in making dino and monster mods I'm sure! Â

That makes life harder for us, as in the worst case we have to add six numbers to see if the rule is respected. That is a very good proposal Ironsight! .... @ raedor if the worst comes to the worst we could all chip in and buy you all a calculator each! Â

    petition for wood camo

Did you even read Frantic’s first post? So the US army no longer issue woodland camo? OK realism is it? …. Has the US army actually been recently deployed to Sahrani  …A small island in the Atlantic with a tropical south and temperate northern climate? Have you ever heard of soldiers that don’t cough, sneeze, swear and fart or need to piss and have to eat? … Realism? … This is a game mate … realism is just an illusion in case you haven’t noticed! The US army are still perfectly capable of re issuing woodland camo if the need arises. IRL the need has not arisen. But this is a fictitious tale of a fictitious war in a fictitious country! Notice the word: ‘fictitious’! Â

    WTF Seagull

'Fade' is not used by ArmA. It is the copy protection used by Codemasters. Please do your research before making statements. Â

    petition for wood camo

I totally agree Frantic! And the same goes for ACU! Useful maybe in urban environments but pretty useless in high vegetation environments. Checkout the two photos below that I made for a mod thread a few years back! ... Usefull camo... Useless Camo... You would think that if Blufor forces were planning on invading North Sahrani they would be given the best possible chances of survival by having appropriate kit issued! Â

ArmA for PS3 or xbox 360?

And that is an argument? What that implies is that ArmA out-of-the-box with a mission editor is a BAD game. So ... Is it at the current state (no mods to my knowledge, well, i have no mods installed) a BAD game? Ahem! ...Did I just call ArmA a bad game? Or did I just ask a very polite question about addons and mods and lack of for console? max I know you are very passionate about XBox 360 it shows in many many posts! Â Â If you are happy to have a game like ArmA on a console and miss out on all the new content coming out every day that is fine! You see like many others here I am very bias towards PC's as you can tell, so I'm not even going to consider buying a console for ArmA or any other fps for that matter! You see max I love my trackball mouse and the total versatility of a PC for editing and modding and no number of wild horses is gonna drag me onto a couch to twiddle a controller over a TV screen in order to play a shooting game! Driving games possibly but not a shooting game! Â Bottom line for me is that I would rather that BIS spent their time improving ArmA as a PC experience! ... Oh, and max; .. no offence intended! Â

ArmA for PS3 or xbox 360?

ArmA has been partially designed as a huge modding platform for the community. Wouldn't console gamers miss out on all these mods if there were a console version? Â

Fond Farewell to OFP from ArmA

Oh walker, your such a romantic! Â Very touching indeed! However, OFP will be born again bigger, better and much prettier when CWC gets ported into ArmA! Â Life is all about moving forward and leaving the past behind. Human memory is very selective; we only ever remember the good times. The bugs, the slide shows, the crappy textures are all lost and forgiven! Â

Ask a moderator about the forum and the rules

Can I make a suggestion Bado? How about you altering the wording of the rules to what you would consider 'more friendly' and then presenting it to Shadow? I would like to help but I'm stuffed for time these days. PM me though if you need. I have a feeling that these boards are moving towards a more friendly attitude now anyway   ... I've seen some changes for the better already. Â

    Armed Assault AI

Also the AI is far too robotic and clinical and lacks RL human characteristics such as sudden scratching, sneezing or coughing. The odd swear word thrown in on being surprised and an occasional scratching of the boll**ks  wouldn’t go a miss either!  Ghost Recon did this much better than ArmA!  Also a simple script that causes a random soldier to occassionally put his gun on his back and go take a leak behind a bush! .... Where's the imagination of these developers? Â

Ask a moderator about the forum and the rules

HaHa! I have to admit though I do sympathise with Baddo over this issue. He does have a valid point and trying to run him into the ground over it is not the way to reply either! Â There were a few occasions a while back when I wanted to check the rules and you know what ... I gave up looking for them! OK I now know where to look but like Baddo says if you are fairly new here you aint gonna find them in a click. But I think his point about the way rules are perceived and the way moderators answer members concerns is just as valid. Pride is something we sometimes need to loose in order to be respectful, honest and fair. Just my two cents, but when you get to my age you loose the willingness to listen to those who hold power in favour of those with a good honest argument! When I speak to someone on these boards I speak to them as equals whether it is a member, moderator or developer and I would expect the same in return.

It's nice to see you posting again Placebo, but I'm afraid you got the wrong wizard there! I've found the right one for you here .... ... Sorry I couldn't resist! Â Incidentally I do think that the forums are being moderated in a more relaxed manner now. Maybe having a paid moderator is not always such a good idea after all! Â
