    release over steam

Mine was 5.46GB! I could not find a way to uninstall either so I had to just delete the entire folder! Then had to use msconfig to alter my startup to prevent windows from looking for it! And I thought Game Spy Arcade was invasive! Steam is like a f*****g malignant cancer on your system! Â Â

    ArmA Progress Updates

They could be sheep. Looking at the original pic it's somewhat far away and they could've been reduced by LOD. Plus they're fenced in and theres a big hay bail on the other side of the barn. If they were sheep’s I think BIS would inform us. No clue why other members take everything as joke! The point about the LODs is a good one and the fact that each one is slightly different in shape and size. And why would BIS want to inform us that they were sheep? They don't inform us of very much else! We know VBS has sheep and are quite realistic from the video I've seen. It would be cool for them to implement these sheep to ArmA  .

    release over steam

Couldn't agree more! In fact the only thing that's gonna stop me from buying HL2's expansion pack is having to reinstall Steam! Every time I reboot my comp and having to wait while this f*****ng program gets the latest Spam from the internet is one good enough reason to avoid this like the plague! Â

    ArmA Progress Updates

Does anyone think these are sheep? Maybe barrels or feeding troughs?   Hard to tell from this pixelated zoom in. Can't see any legs or heads although they could all be grazing with their heads down! Yet another mystery kindly supplied by BIS! We'll have to wait and see!  PS. Placebo, I think you need to remove the words 'Press Release' from this thread title and instead put an  's after 'Update'. This would make the thread topic more generally about Progress Update's rather than that old long extinct Press Release of many moons ago! Â

Married life has got its plus points too!  I've been married for nearly 7 yrs now and I play more PC games now than I did as a bachelor (probably 'cos I was too busy looking for a wife!   ). Moral: don't despair the fun will continue!  KDog35 -sometimes your comments seem a little harsh! There is a world outside of the US and it is much bigger and better than you think, so keep your patriotic comments to yourself  !

    FFUR - Huge Release !!

That's human nature mate! Â Â You should ignore the bitching if U don't like it! As for me I'm one step ahead of all of yea! U see I figure that the best beta testers by far are those that bitched like mad to have it released! They will play it to death morning and night and in less than a week there will be a pretty comprehensive bug report that no official beta testers could have even hoped to find! Â So I'm just hanging out and reading all the reports. -Why should I download something that I know is gonna cause problems when if I just wait a little longer TB will be releasing a properly beta tested and patched up version! Â But then again I've got loads of patience and plenty of other things to keep me busy in life! Oh and on top of that I'm a crafty bastard! Â I know that TB's work is excellent and I can wait for it to be perfect, so for me it is not yet released! Â

    FFUR - Huge Release !!

I thought you took the craters out thats why they dont appear in 2006 Removing craters? Bad idea. I love those craters in ECP, and I didn't notice that FFUR had them until recently (I've only been using FFUR since testing a mission for somebody which requires most of the addons). If you can get the craters working bug free, and I hope you do, keep them. they're great Infact, they're on of the main reasons I got ECP 1.085. people should read the post of other members ... it is a question about about the FFUR 1985 desert pack. and yes the CRATERS aren't in ffur2006, (because of this bug... they won't work correct with helicopters because OFP lets them bounce when hitting the ground ... => high crater.) benus You like this? Â http://www.fotocraft.org.uk/images/hirisecrater.jpg Me? -I prefere Bis ones! Â As Benus explained TB took em out of his latest release 'cos they do not work properly with Ffur mods, but they are still in his previous releases.

    ArmA = Conspiracy?

Be very careful SGT. Hurley! I've heard recent news that BIS has its new HQ in Area 51 at Nevada Desert. Something to do with interrogating captured aliens and re-building and back engineering of crashed alien space ships! Â This sort of information is very sensitive and they frequently need to find cover stories to protect the secrecy of their work. It is now believed that ArmA is one such cover story although those that first leaked this highly sensitive information have since disappeared under very suspicious circumstances. Â Just be warned about spreading such highly sensitive gossip. -You might get a sinister visit from MIB's in black choppers! Â

    FFUR - Huge Release !!

OK TB! - Now that you've excelled yourself with yet another exellent pack, will you now be patching them all up (Euro, 1985 and 2005 in particular) after you have done this latest release of course? I've loved all your packs to date, but they all need some patching, as you know. So before you get totally carried away with starting yet another marathon pack (Uganda Civil War Crisis or some thing! lets have all your previous work running bug free!  -Cumon - I know you can do it! - Just take your eyes off of that new crisis looming Africa for the moment!  Hands down to you all at Ffur   and keep up the good work!

    ArmA Progress Updates

Just been watching your OFPE Landing video maxqubit. The bit that interests me most is the wave effects on the sea and although it's quite dark it looks pretty impressive! Â Any chance of a boat ride video in daylight -and make sure it is stormy weather?! Â ArmA will only improve on this so it is a good benchmark to use as a minimum expectation (me hopes!. Â

    FFUR - Huge Release !!

ever looked won a pair of binocs before? unless you have fairly wide eyes it looks like one circle, not two separate ones. I have never looked inside NVGs before, but I don't think it would look like that. Quite right! It irritates me why many pc games try to show a bino view as two joined circles! Unless you have double vision or some other synchronisation problem with your eyesight then looking through a pair of binoculars will give you just ONE circle of vision! Â I have several pairs of binos and use them quite frequently, it's the same view you get when looking through a sniper sight only larger and in 3D of course! I know you can't implement the 3D but a single large circle would be much more accurate. Â However, I think TB has already done the bino views, unless of course he would like to make some further adjustments! Â

Looking forward to seeing your OFP E Landing video! Â However, with File Fronts crappy bandwidth giving only about 12kbs at present despite me having 2Meg broadband, I won't be commenting about it just yet! Â Â - Maybe next week! Â

    FFUR - Huge Release !!

The 'cross hair' you guys are referring to I think is called a 'reticule' in the gaming world! Usually it can be disabled in options in most games. Â I find it quite a useful aid in fps games as it helps you determine where your gun is pointing or where your centre of focus is supposed to be (thus 'reticule' of the eye). In real life you would have other cues to help you determine this such as a much wider field of view and the automatic focus of the eye. It is just an aid to help bridge the gap between the three dimensional real world and the restrictions imposed by the two dimensional tunnel view of a pc monitor. Â Having it enabled doesn't mean your a noob any more than turning it off means your a realist! And I agree that the original BIS reticule was quite well thought out and probably should be kept as the reticule of preference IMO. Â

I've moved the man into the grass. - How well concealed is he now? Â OK, I've buried him slightly lower into the grass for more realism! Â

    FFUR - Huge Release !!

ACU is designed to blend in to a mixture of different real world environments. However, it works better in some environments more than others. For mostly natural wooded environments in Europe or the tropics I would say it was not a good choice, and as most of OFP worlds are of this nature I would prefer to use the regular camo as it lends it self better to the situation. However, I think TB is making both options available, so this should keep both persuasions happy! Â

The soldier on the right in the background has got a very limp right hand!  . Not sure I would want to hold my hand like that for too long  - or if I could even get it at that angle in the first place! But then again I'm not double jointed!   Other than that though the models are quite good and they stand a lot better than in OFP. (no more bandy legs!. Â

Umm, correct me if I am wrong, but the water doesn't actually hurt you until your head is underwater. Legs don't get damaged just for being in the water. He means the mere fact that you start to bleed when ''damaged'' by water, not the way you are submerged itself. Yep. Â sharks ? For so long I wondered why I would get bleeding legs after too long in the water! - Now I know - sharks! Â Or could it be piranhas? Â
