The one thing dont like about Open GL, is the fact that its easier to make graphic cheats ( I hope that it is called that ). I remember alot of the other FPS games I have played with OpenGL had cheats that used it to change the colors of players so they were easier to see. Not saying that it is easier to do cuz i honestly dont know, I just remember that cheats were a big problem when OpenGL was used. If Im wrong I apologize.

I think we have seen all the pics they had to release. It said there were only 4, and Im pretty sure that all 4 of the pics from the original post are new. I think they were just asking other fan sites not to use those 4 pics untill the 4th of September. So I dont think we will be seeing any new pics untill the next batch of info is released, and who knows when that will be.

Im kinda stealing this idea, but think it would work well in the game, atleast from a mission planning side. It comes from Far Cry and Im sure just by saying that name you guessed the idea already. Thats right - Scopes that reflect light. Only difference I would like to see from Far Cry is that it did not matter where in (Far Cry) the map you were if you had direct sight at the enemy you would see the reflection no matter where the light above was coming from or even if it was night. In Game2 it would be nice to have that so not only do you have to take the terrain, and some other things snipers have to account for, but they would also have to watch to see if they are gonna have a reflection off their scope that will tip off the enemy to where they are at. I know I probably did not explain that well, but I hope you get the idea.

I dont think it really matters what year or location they choose to make the game with. I mean think about it for a second. Almost everything you can possible want in a game is available somehow or another now in OFP why would it be different in ArmA? Im sure if you want a Vietnam or WWII sim one will be available for ArmA sooner or later. The only thing to complain about would be that it wont be there when the game ships. In all honesty it does not really matter what the game has when it ships, because IMHO OFP has the best modding community around. I have yet to play a game that has more passionate modders than this game here. And simply its the only thing that has probably kept us around along as we have been.

I used to be in the United State Air Force - ( No laughing at me plz).

All you really need is a small box with 4 buttons pop up when a certain key is pressed. It could be toggled on and off wuth the same key so you dont have it up the whole time. Kinda like the watch and the compass but it would stay on/off with the press of a key. On the box it would have 4 button numbered or lettered, and while the box is showing in the screen a simple push of the coinciding button would set off said satchel. Anyway, that would be the easiset way if its possible which Im sure it is.

Yeah the campaigns and single player missions were well done and prove this game belongs on top. I must have played "Steal the Car" 1000 x's trying different ways of doing it and all. If you honestly have not done it - you should.

Sorry if this was brought up before, but I was playing a mission the other day and I noticed that my Sniper Rifle was off in calibration. It was hitting left and low and was getting annoying as I was trying to take out a squad of guys. It would be nice if you could go to a rifle range and be able to sight in your weapons. And as time goes on the sights can move do to vibration and whatnot. Anyway, is this a valid point or am I pushing the the amount of realism some ppl want in the game? Although it really is not as complex as some of the other ideas I have seen.

Could not agree more.

I think what ArmA is being made for is to show some promise of a future title ( Game 2 ), and to get old Ofp players excited about the game again and get intrest sparked up in a game that is in its last days. Im not saying Ofp is dead - because we all know that it is far from it, but it is getting smaller, and ArmA, should renew intrest to players that are on the edge of staying or going. I for one applaud this effort cuz they did not have to do it at all. They could have just kept us waiting for another year or so, begging for pics, and info on the new game, while we sat and twittled our thumbs at our computer desk. Atleast they are keeping us busy untill the new release. As for the new screens, I think they all look very nice.

I think the mission editor is probably one of if not the most important part of this type of game. The mission Editor in OFP left me wanting more, I guess because im not really "script" savy, but I love to make missions - I think sometimes making the mission and watching ppl play that mission is one of the most rewarding things in the game. Making the Mission Editor alittle more user friendly would be nice - although if it was the same I would survive. I just would not be able to make missions like I want them. Dont laugh to hard, but I still dont know how to make a Helicopter fly at a different height. But I am a noob when it comes to that lol. Anyway cant wait to hear more later on what is to come.

Anything known about the Mission editor in ArAs? Will it work the same, or will it have new features? just wondering if anyone heard anything.

Maybe a way to have waypoints in a coop that have reinforcment like spawns for players just coming in - And after you get to that waypoint it moves the next reinforcment to the next one. Would be cool to join in game and have to defend a spot till the the people already in game show up to help. And move on from there. Anyway just throwing that out.

The problem with OFP 1 and dedicated servers was the lack of "JIP" ( Join in Progress). I hated sitting around in a room waiting for a mission to get over before I could join, so I usually went and did my own thing. With "JIP" being added dedicated servers will be more plentiful do to the fact ppl can play whenever they want and not have to wait for a half hour oe more. If there are dedicated servers up for ArAs then things around the community will be alot different. We wont complain about the wait anymore, but the fact that every server is full and we cant get in, which IMHO is alot better.

Well when there is nothing to really talk about about, what else are you supposed to do? There is nothing wrong with specualting or dreaming, as long as its in a constructive post. If you start to read a post and dont like where its going the stop reading it, dont reply and let it die. If you reply to a post with a insult or anything else you yourself are dragging out the post longer than it needs to be. Just let it die off over time and if it recieves a reply from someone willing to answer than so be it. Im sure this post wil be locked soon too, but I knew that from the get go when i posted it, so atleast I knew it was coming. But if you are new to the forums and you post 3 or 4 threads and they all get ocked, then it drives ppl away. That is the last thing we need around here espeacially when we are trying to hype the game.
