The FFUR 2006 2.5 installer deletes the current ffur2006 folder within your OFP directory, deletes the registry keys it used and removes the uninstaller. Then it makes a new ffur2006 folder and puts all the 2.5 files in it, adds new registry keys and creates an uninstaller in the OFP root, plus a shortcut to the uninstaller within the ffur2006 folder. This is because the uninstaller must also delete itself, so to avoid it deleting itself before it is finished it must be placed in the root folder. The installer does nothing to any other files within the OFP directory. Everything it does is focussed around the ffur2006 folder.

The launch program I made which came with the mod includes those parameters by default; you don't need to and can't add them to the launcher.

New mirrors for the Sky and Island Packs from OFPFiles: FFUR 2006 FFUR 2006 Island Pack FFUR 2006 Sky Pack

There are three 1985 conversions already out - check our website. http://ffur.net/

Thanks to Benus for uploading his copy of FFUR 2006 to the OFPFiles servers.

Guess what? New mirror! http://operationflashpoint.filefront.com/file/FFUR_2006;58223 Feel free to unleish the full weight of the OFP community on FileFront's 400 servers

Heh, chalk up a second ofp.info blowout after an FFUR release The last time we borked their servers was after the FFUR Mega Release Day at Christmas, when we released five packs totalling about 3GB in size.

There are some areas of the game that suit rock music though - think about how well it went with the actual Resistance missions - classical music is usually too soft to emphasise the combat, where rock is often about hatred and hardship.

After we release the new patches, etc., I'll start the full installer with everything. It'll be huge, but a lot of people with fast connections have been requesting an all-in-wonder download. A few C++ things are in planning stages too (some of you may remember the FFUR Handyman - it'll be finished), such as automatic configuration replacements and shizzle.

This post is in regard to the controversy over the addons and their authors. If the actual addons are not edited in any way, and credit is given to the author along with the release, then there really isn't much an addon maker can bitch about having released their work free of charge for everyone to use beforehand. Do you really expect anyone to seek permission from 20+ different sets of addon teams, some of which may be inactive or uncontactable, just to ask whether they can distribute their files along with others grouped together (and in doing so giving the addon publicity)? Would you do that? And if you would do that, do you disagree that it would not harm the addon's status in any way? Bohemia Interactive stated in their terms and conditions that all addons and modifications for the game were to be released free of charge. Whether the actual addons are copyright or not is unrelated to whether or not they are free. The fact that they are free, and that they remain unedited means that the person unhappy about their work being redistributed really has no grounds to complain on. It's not stealing, because it was free in the first place.

I think there is a pixellated bar that his red circle has covered over to the right.

People, this is a fictional conflict, between two 'auld enemies'. It is exactly the same as a WW2 modification, in making a game to relive the conflicts of past days, yet the British, French, German, Italian, US and other nations' governments have no problem with it. For some reason, the Chinese do. This is out of our control, and frankly, not of our concern. The team spent many hundreds of man hours working on Asian Crisis, thunderbird84 being the most prominent, and we will not just have our work deleted in a click of a button. The contributors allowed us to use their work, and in doing so took on the responsibility of our use of it. If you gave someone a rifle and then that person went out and shot someone, you would get into trouble. I really don't see how the pack could be so offensive - it doesn't contain any missions, campaigns or other sort of storyline which shows a conflict between two Asian nations. All it contains is Chinese and Japanese units, and is called 'Asian Crisis'. In actual fact, there is no hard evidence within the mod which suggests China and Japan are supposed to be enemies in the game at all. I assume the Chinese government saw the name, saw the two countries envolved and decided it was herecy. However, I see this thread developing into a moral debate. This is not the place for that sort of thing. The fact is that a minority aren't happy with our work, but they aren't being forced to use it. That's it.

Here is a sneak peak at a program called FFUR Handyman I've developing for the FFUR mods to make repetitive tasks such as swapping single and multiplayer configurations easier. Nothing is really decided yet, and stuff might be moved around or removed later, but here it is at the minute: It is nowhere near completion, and stuff still needs to be added (i.e. into the blank space underneath the folder name bit), but that's the basic outline. It might require the VB6 runtime files, which could complicate things...

I'm currently compiling a 7z (7-zip) archive, which should be released in a few days. The installer will come after the first patch, and will include the changes made.
-
It's probably used to get Google hits, so they get more people buying stuff.
-
Hehe, sorry Gamezone for overloading your servers If you have problems with CZ, try OFPFiles or OFPC.
-
Depending on what needs edited, I might make a batch script to solve the problem that 1% of users face with the islands. Also, it might be possible in the future to make utility programs which change configs for you automatically, allow you to edit them, etc. All for a later time though. Hope you continue enjoying the packs.
-
Oh well, we can't please everyone Those with Windows 98/ME/95/Linux will have to download the archive files, NOT the installers. Most of the archives are uploaded now - check ffur.net for links.
-
The Desert, 2005 and Asian archive files (.rar) will be added later - the servers are very busy with you guys snatching FFUR from them, so it takes hours for each one. We'll wait for it to cool down You can still get the installers as normal. Also, the Full Installer and 1985 Installer will come later in the week or next week. The ultra-compressed .7z archives will come after everything else.
-
People - for now, only the FileFront servers will work. The European and Australasian servers take six hours to add the files after they are released, so will not work until tomorrow. So you will get errors on everything but FileFront for at least a few hours yet.

Very strange... Anyway, here are the island packs: High Resolution Low Resolution

t80 - find your FLASHPOINTRESISTANCE.EXE file and create a shortcut to it, then add this AFTER the end double quote ("): -nosplash -nomap -mod=ffurxxx Where 'xxx' is the mod you downloaded, eg, -mod=ffur2005.
-
I'll add the .rar archives shortly
-
Not really. People downloading packs I'm trying to tinker with slows things down for me.
-
Don't download it until we say so - I'm fiddling around with the packs, so they might be corrupted if you download before we say you should
