I used play DF1/DF2 etc but after realising that Novalogic actively refused to address the coop lag/sync problems in the later versions (ver2 onwards) I moved on.

I think its wiser to wait for the game or demo to be released before passing judgemet on DR. Until we get the chance to see and play the final product we can speculate till the cows come home. Making sweeping statements that it is better or worse than another title at this stage is rather risky.. Assumptions are.. well you know the rest.

Been playing since late 2002, cut my teeth in with OFP with the CTF aspects of the game at EFL, progressed onto regular COOP and all sorts of other things. Good times :D

I loved the game. I was fortunate enough to even make the rank "Elite" in the game which took some grinding!! Thargoids intercepting my shipments of furs brings back a lot of memories!

VERY VERY true. The beauty of OFP ARMA and ARMA2 is the Editor and the choices it gives you. If you do not like how missions are produced, create your own, its THAT simple. BIS have simply provided a tool to allow the many many creative folk int he community to cook up whatever they want however they want. Whether it be MILSIM realism focused or DM with lasers (I exaggerate but you get my point)

Not sure if any of you saw the recent announcement but activision plans to hike its price by a further £10 for Modern Warfare 2. (Total game price £55) It is seen by many as a test to see what the gamers will put up with. I am very glad it's a console game! Which leads me on to my point, which is, console games generally are more expensive so while consoles are popular if they continue to hike the prices up console gamers will undoubtably notice PC games on the other shelf being cheaper and look just as good if not better. Seems to me price hiking will only push people to either stick with their PC or move from the console to a pc. You can read about the price hike here.

I think that is more to do with said publisher not the overall scheme of things.
