yep, if you have a sound card installed, the on-board (motherboard) sound needs to be turned off in bios. I turned off shadows and set ground detail to very low which makes the game faster.

FYI after installing patch 1.91 from 1.90, I cannot insert EAST groups from the mission editor. I can only insert WEST. I can insert EAST units.

If the game is truly about viet-nam

is the NAM thing rumor or fact? the NAM thing would not interest me. I may change my mind if I see some screen shots. -

is this OPF2 really a NAM campaign like everyone is saying? The NAM2 addon pack satisfies my need to kill VC. Â -

I tried that a few days ago but it did not detect any 43 files. I also tried the detonator destroyer and it did not work--it came back with a message that said some files could not be removed.

I want to check my computer for old 43 driver files. Anybody know what folders/directories they are copied to? On my machine, I have found only 2 places: C:/nvidia C:/Windows/System are there any other places I need to look? I uninstalled them but you can never be sure. THX

Once upon a time, I had detonator driver 30.82 and OPF/RES ran fine, and everything was dandy and fluffy. Then one day, I decided to upgrade to driver 43.00, and my computer went to hell. After installing this piece-o-shite, I tried to run OPF and it would not load with a "data file too short c:\RES\ADDON\"some filename".pbo" error. I deleted that pbo file, and it was able to load. But during gameplay after 5 or 10 minutes, Operation Flashpoint would crash and freeze or my computer would re-boot. I uninstalled 43.00 and put 30.82 back. I made sure there were no conflicting files or old driver files left from 43. The game still crashed. So I uninstalled Operation Flashpoint and Resistance to start over with a clean slate. I reinstalled both OPF and RES. Then I defragged my hard drive. After that, Operation Flashpoint would not even load. After clicking start, nothing happend. Then an error appeared and said a dll game file was corrupted and said program performed an illegal function and will shut down....so I replaced the corrupted dll game file with the same dll file on the game CD, then it loaded but crashed and said some config file was missing or bad. After throwing a chair across the room, I uninstalled both OPF and RES again and then reinstalled the game and now it works. what a pain in the arse! I have not had a chance to see if it crashes yet during game play. I tested a few missions and they work but the crashes I had was like 5 or 10 minutes into the game. I regret the day I installed 43.00
