    Thanks for the feedback Russin. I'm surprised the AI is having problems. The island was designed for co-op play and we've never encountered any AI problems with FCM's season 2 mission tests. Post a list of the change's you'd like and I'll see what can get done.

    When I designed the island, I talked to several island designers and those big impassable forest blocks so prominent in the original islands are actually very inefficient for framerates. I tested it out and if I had used those forests the view distance would have framerate troubles at 900m, especially for an island of that size.

    Thanks for posting those photos Matt, they look awesome. Russin, I tried out the CTI coop the other night and loved it. I look forward to playing some more CTIs on those islands. I can easily make a more CTI friendly version according to criteria you need, like different bridges or less objects. Regarding the baracken: I'm not certain what version I'm using for it, I'll look into the two available and let you know. Thanks for posting the mirror! I'm talking with a few people to get a few more up!

    The island has everything that would be required for single or multiplayer, varying sizes of cities, bases, and ruins. This was primarily created for multi-player, however many towns and bases were created in high detail to encourage all players to use the island. However, this island has been played with 3,000 metre view distance in intense online play with no lag. Russin of RN tested a this island with MFCTI and reported no lag whatsoever.     As the island designer for Flashpoint Combat Missions I'm happy to announce Season Two's Messor island has been released! This island is a product of months of labour and is a far superior product to Season One's Occassus island. This island has been built with two thoughts in mind: effective long view distances and multiplayer friendly play. For those not familiar with FCM, our goal is to provide a gaming experience that accurately models real military situations and scenarios experienced by armed forces worldwide. With a supporting staff consisting of experienced and dedicated OFP players, mission-makers, and admins, FCM endeavors to offer a high-quality, competitive, and entertaining experience to the often overlooked segment of the Operation Flashpoint community that enjoys cooperative play. We are winding down with Season One play and have begun work on next season's missions. I encourage everyone to have a look over the island and post their feedback on it. I am considering another island in the near future and all input is welcome on it. Special thanks go to everyone who helped beta-test this island and providing feedback!     Of course I wouldn't want to adversely affect gameplay, so I'd decrease the quality of the textures. If it is true that I can have more than 512 unique textures in an island, I figure I can have a texture pack of approximately 50mb for a medium sized island. But keep in mind, every texture will be unique.

    Despite everyone's doubts, this is a real in-game photo of OFP. Thanks for the compliment cell7, since you asked, here is probably the last screen I will show of this until I develop my workaround. As a shamless plug, I encourage people to check out: Flashpoint Combat Missions - One of my previous islands are there, another is on the verge of being released. If you like coop action, this is the league for you. Wargames - For the best in adverserial play (IMHO), give it a try. Or logging onto the forums and downloading the beta release of the WG addon pack 5.0. Phew... now if only I got kickbacks for this.

    Quite disappointing that we can't do more than 512 textures. Here is something I've been working on, but can't finish with this limitation: I'll find a work-around though.

    I've created several large islands with no problem. I'm looking at using unique textures rather than a base texture and transitions. I just don't want to do tonnes of work with textures just to find out I can only use 512 terrain textures.
  11. I read in the WRPTool Manual that an island is limited to a total of 512 textures. Is there any way around such a limitation? I have an idea that will really add to OFP, but that limitation is way too restrictive. Thanks, Reap

    Trouble importing islands.

    I've tried to import that way many times to no success. The first crash is the rectangular error. The second time, I reopen or reload buldozer (tried both), tell it to import the island. The buldozer screen will open up, and you'll see the black screen with the white line showing it load. About ten seconds after that I will receive an error message saying that there was a problem encountered and do I want to send a report to microsoft (yeah that happy screen ) Visitor then will not respond to anything and has to be stopped via task manager. And its not loading the island as I left it running for 30 mins just in case it was.

    I've tried it both ways, windowed and full-screen. I experience the same crashes with both of them.
  15. Greetings all, I've been having problems with buldozer and Visitor importing an island. I've read all the solutions and topics on this forum and nothing helps out. I import the island, get the rectangular error message. I then reload buldozer and try to import again and nothing happens. I've tried all the solutions listed here and nothing works. Is it possibly related to another problem that I get in buldozer? Where I click the mouse button in the window and it crashes to desktop every time. Any help importing islands would be much appreciated.
