Here is my suggestions for making OFP more fun. First I run my Flashpoint on A Sony P4 at 1.3 ghz. with a Nvidia Geforce 2mx if you can believe it. I also only have 128 mb of Ram. LOL. It still looks pretty sweet though on my 21 inch Viewsonic monitor. You also have to know some military history and current events to really get into the game play. I was frustrated just like you. Go to the alt. Flashpoint newsgroup [Google groups keywords Operation Flashpoint. Search that group for rmatich and you'll see how "gree" I was just a short time [months] ago. Â Â i've been reading military books to gain knowlege of the tactics, history, battles, weapon overviews etc. I just read "Jihad" by Tom Carew who was a British SAS officer. His story is of helping the Mujahadeene [spelling] in Afganistan when the Soviets invaded. Its inspired my mission making and told my what tactics they used. Its a great book by the way. I've also read 1/2 of Tom Clany's book on Special forces hisrtoy, training, missions etc. Just today I was at my local library getting two books: Chickenhawk which is about a Huey helicoptor pilot's story of his part in the Vietnam war. I also got Dispatches by Michael Herr. Its considered one of the best books about the war in Nam. When there I saw books on Special Forces, Secret missions, the use of air and naval power, and even inside different types of military units. Tom Clancy writes excellent books. I'm going to read "Every Man A Tiger" about General Fred Franks and the Gulf war. Its about infantry and tanks. Lost of Ideas there. Look at the catalog of your local library. There are tons of just picture books about warfare. See examples of combat that way. You know what they say :A picture is worth a thousand words. Get some knowledge and your Ofp time will be sweet. Also look here and elsewhere for tutorials on mission making. You will be amazed at what you can create. ****NEWS FLASH FROM THE FRONT LINES OF THE WAR IN VIETNAM. Febuary 10th, 1968. 4:10 P.M EST. Staff reporter: Yesterdays attack on  North Vietnamise LZ [landing zone] called Columbus went well thanks to two Army Huey ARA helos. They made quick work of the hot LZ that was about to be seized by a platoon of U.S. army troops. At least three mortor positions were ellininated along with three squads of NVA troops. A heavy machine gun emplacement made for a rough few moments for our boys in the sky. No anti air was present thankfully. Time was short becuse the LZ had to be cleared within about 5 minutes of the Huey's entry in to the battle zone. The order was given the "not a man or machine will be left standing for the U.S. troops on the ground to encounter". It took at least 50 rockets from both helos and all the machine gun armament from that same ship to take the North. Our fighting men were luckey this time. Time. Thats a funny word becuase a source within the Army top brass tells us that The North Vietnamise are starting to use AA guns more and more in this area of the war zone. Yes here in the already blood stained world of Vietnam its about to get a whole lot more deadly on both sides.  ****NEWS FLASH FROM THE FRONT LINES OF THE WAR IN VIETNAM. Febuary 11th, 1968. 2:10 P.M EST. Staff reporter: We are with a platoon of soldiers as they move into the "hills of the Northern part of the battle zone. During these next few months we'll be taking you the reader inside the minds and hearts of our boys in green as they handle life on patrol. We'll cover the airmen, the helo pilots, the medievac choppers and ambulances. We'll even go with some M60 tank commanders as they patrol and "clear" the villiges of the Southeastern part of the battlezone. My canteen is full, my body armor is on, and I'm ready to bring you the war in Vietnam as it happens. Don't you miss it. END.

I like the AIG [i think thats what its called. Its the one thats a mix between missles and bombs. I destroyed St Phillipe going after two UAZs. LOL. I'm not sure what kind but one of the missles is VERY precise. Those MK-8 unguided bombs are funny because [at least as far as I could tell] They do not land anywhere near where they are supposed to. Of course my target for the AI pilot were in a town. That might have effected things a bit. Reminds me of the "Five Oclock Charlie" episode of M.A.S.H. where a bomber wuold try and bomb the 4077 every day and miss the whole compound. LOL. They placed bets as to where the bomb would land the next day. One bomb they had to disarm because it failed to go off. While I'm here posting I have to say the nuke won't go off from an AI pilot. Â Â Could anyone tell me what I should target and how to get the AI to drop the big bomb? I dropped one without much damage to an buildings. All in all though its fantastic! Thanks again to USM and DeadSoldier. YOU GUYS ROCK! Â Oh and the F-15 came in to see what it was about to bomb and it streaked right above my head. The sound was incredible! It scared me at first. Thats how awsome this F-15 is.

BTW. I forgot to tell you my birthday. I was "Born On The Fourth Of July"! There I think I got all the combat films in.

I got that NAM baby! I found where I could download it without having to learn a new language. Now I'm ready to be a "Deer Hunter" or ready for any "Apocalyspe Now". I'll be joining the rest of my "Platoon" shortly to take "Hamburger Hill". So "Good Morning Vietnam" because I finally have a "Full Metal Jacket"! I love the smell of Niapalm in the morning!

Ok. First time I downloaded it [or I thought I was] it was only 3 megs. I told you people last night I got the file. How wrong I was! Apparently the file was not yet fixed. Now I got it and will testing it tonight. From what I have heard its DA BOMB!

No one answered my question. How do I download this Nam pack? All I see on their site is German. I can't speak German! Someone help. I'm going to ask this in the Alt. Flashpoint newsgroup. A direct link should be added though.

How do I download the pack? I keep clicking on those German links that I don't understand due to the fact that I don't know German!!! This is frustrating me! Someone instruct me on with place to click. Do I need to register first? English instructions would have been helpful.

I'm going to dream to a massive bombing run involving 20 or more planes with AI nuking every major city on say Everon with me as [hopefully] living witness. I'll tour the devistation "the day after". Iknow I sound like I'm a wheelchair bound Peter Sellers character [Dr. Strangelove] but I just love that massive destrutive power I see on the news and putting it to use in OFP. Nobody think I'm a pshyco or anything. BTW. Please tell my mother I'm off to help someone with her shower. Just kidding.

I think I'll do a missing man formation with my downloaded F16s in honor of your leaving. Nah I'll just bomb some bad guys to bits in stead! See this is why you should play this game. It da bomb!!!

The best thing to play Flashpoint on would be one of those new High Definition 40+ inch Tv/computer monitors on sale at most tv stores [Circuit City, Best buy ETC.]. I saw part of the Harry Potter movie on DVD on one of things at Best Buy. I drooled over the idea of OFP on one of those babys with 6.1 surround! Anyone out there have one of these dream monitors? How does it look with flashpoint? BTW How does 6.1 sound with it?

I don't know but there needs to be a permenate post with all the best scripts inside ready to copy & paste. I hate the way some people make it all seem like brain surgery so they look like Einstiens. Face it people its what amounts to a cheat code. I for one am just like this guy searching around for this stuff. Do us all a favor please somebody compile a list [and have it exact] of all these codes and how to implemts codes into OFP. I'm not even sure how or where to enter the scripts. Thankfully I'm not the only one confused. Post the list of "great Ofp" scripts so we can all share in your brilliance! Sorry I just had to say that. No harm meant to the manny people who comtribute to these great forums.

I'm glad someone made a post about this problem. Its buged me for a while.

64 rockets. LOL. Remember that I'm aiming at an area the size of a medium parking lot at a grocery store etc. All 64 rockets come "slamming" down at those tanks, trucks, and even people. I never hit the buildings that are just a few feet away from the blasts! I hit one of the buildings but only once. I try and limit collateral damage. I sometimes attack purposly attack a town to see if I can destroy all the building in one pass. Sometimes 2 passes are required.

My experiance with OFP is limited because I'm somewhat [4 months or so] new to it. It took me awhile to learn how to use the editor. Now that I've got it down I can have all the fun moments your describing. The feeling I had when I was part of an Army group aboard 6 Blackhawk helicoptors trying to take the Fort at the town of Trasky on the island of Nogavo. We got beat back and had to retreat. Hey we were ordered back to the helos. I tried taking the fort myself but kept getting killed. I went out on a "tank kill" against resistance T55s and trucks right next to a town on Malden. The site and sound as my Mi-24 made mince meat out of that resistance hardware was mind blwing! Hehehe! The A6 missles sometimes miss. If I can't take out all the hardware I attack with a vegance using all 64 rockets that bad boy carries!!! LMAO. Any survivoirs are toast when that hard steel rain starts a fallin! Wow! What a game.

I have an idea! Just put an extra guy into the BMP. Then order [is that possible?] him out [if you are the leader] whenever you want. Or you could just leave him inthere with the NEVER FIRE command. Hope that helps. Let me know what happens.

The patch is working just fine for me! Sorry don't meen to gloat but with all the computer problems I've had it feels like I've been belssed this time. Do'nt hate me because I'm beutiful or because 1.85 works [so far]. P.s. I don't play multiplayer so I wouldn't know about the MP lag etc.
