I'm considering an ATI card. Are there any problems with the 9800 Pro? Its so expensive I'll have to wait for a price cut. Hopefully there will be a sale in the Fall.

I'm running Me and like it. XP scares me. Its so "heavy" and loaded down. It takes so much RAM. I wish MS would get an os right for once. I'm happy. My sister had Win98se and it was good also. I'm getting a Radeon98, around 512mb to 700mb more RAM, and dsl sometime in the Fall [i hope].

Ok now to sound off on what I think of this demo. It rocks! Only problem that I saw was the "ghostly white" soliders. Anyone else getting that? I have a Gefore2 MX graphics card. Is there anything in Flashpoint to help solve the "white soldier" problem I get with these newer addons. I'm 1.90 version of Flashpoint. The Sicilian island confused me at first because at first glance it just looked like the regular Flashpoint type of island. I think there needs to be more of a mix between grassy and sand textures. Correct me if I'm wrong but is Siciliy supposed to be that green? There is not that much sandy texture. The soldiers are awsome. I've had a small tank battle between Marcel's Sherman tank and Invasion 44's Tigers and its quite an epic battle. I got a Normany map [i forget where I found it. The WW2 Engineer team I think.] It represents Normany to allmost the slightest detail. I lkie that sniper rifle on I44's U.S. troops. I took out a whole squad of German reinforcments with ease. Once though I was about to finnish off some Germans when I saw one of them coming up the hill to get me. I waitied beccause he was down bellow me [his head disapeared for a moment]. I was about to shoot him between the eyes [ we were very close at this point] when he raised his hand. I had no time to even pull the trigger. I was like a deer caught in head lights. He threw a grenade. Just a tiny toss and I was blown to bits. Fun. I took on a town on the Sicilian map. 2 German groups of soldiers, a halftrack, 2 mortors, and 2 machine guns. It was at night and I was in my Sherman [Thanks Marcel. Hehehehe!!]. I poured round after round up that hill. then went in a picked off any survivors. The only problem was that the mortors did not seem to fire on me. Nor did the machine guns. I found tihs strange. It was set to "combat" for them all in behavior. All in all great fun. The Anatov can't seem to work for me. I need a plane that my troops can jump from [one that has a high flying height already. I don't want to have to fool with scripts etc.] Anyone got and plane suggestions? It doen't have to be a WW2 plane either. I do transport unlod or just unload and everyone ignore our leader when he says to get out of the plane. Great Mod guys at I44. You are da bomb [V1?]!

The Sp/Mp Support pack? I'm not able to get into OFPEC anymore. Its says my IP has been banned. How can that be? I'm not even a registered user. It did state that IPs form my provider could be the ones being banned. I'm just thorwn in. If anyone has that file please send it to me at Matichw@aol.com I realy realy real want that support pack.

Server must be busy. I can't get in. First there was the "server busy" error. Now there is the "web page not responding" message. How big is the island without theat mod? Is it larger than 10 MB?

Thanks for that island Shadow. It rocks. I escorted a convoy of tanks Bradleys and refueling trucks across it. My black hawk moving at just an altitude of 8 above them. Now thats close air support. I set the time to 16:30 the weather to a bit beyond the halfway point for a rain but no thunderstorms. Then set the visibilaty to nothing. I created a nice snadstorm effect. I'm still missing that bronse color though. Still trying to get that effect just right. Will inform you if I hit that "magic" combination.

Wait for the enemy to make their move. Use buildings, vehicles, and objects for cover. This can not be overstressed. Aslo you must forget that this is a game. You must think this is real while you are playing becuase the key is to react as you would if you were acualy at war. This is only a simulation but the enviroment is pretty real so your options are almost a open as in an accual war. If you can't fight right then why not run? Battle when you think the oportunity is greatest. Shift you position so as not to be a "stationary" target if in a fire fight. If you are not in a fight at the moment you should proceed slowley and keep in cover while you move forward. foliage can provide you a survival tool worth maintaning. Also U.S. troops [and many worldwide] own the night. Keep that in mind. That is a pwerful tool for you. Keep you game going and attack at night.Hide first and then turn you monitor off. Wait until nightfall in the game, put on NV goggles, and then strike your targets. Just like real life ops. Â

I'm watching T.V. coverage on my 2 days off here while playing Operation flashpoint. My own OFP "virtual war" has begun. I repaet I'm seeing action on Desert Everon. My OFP troops hit a small "virtual" Iraq positions [3 units of troops] after a massive night bombing of this same base. 1 "virtual" Su25 and an Mi-8 hip, 2 fuel trucks, and 3 scud launchers were hit in my brutal opening salvo. Then my "virtual" Spec Ops moved to this location using a Hmmve and a truck. We encountered light resistance from two OFP Iraqi units. The second phase in my OFP "virtual" war was an early morning Cobra helicopter assualt on Iraqi tanks near my North/South Desert Everon border. Massive OFP boming bombing is expected soon using the new Jalaibad map for OFP. The key area to be targeted will be a small town to the south where a key base and road bridge is located. "Virtual" Spec Ops will be there laying the ground work for precise strikes by my F-15s. This area will be taken in my OFP game simulating a "virtual war" with Iraq This is not a real war and I and has noting to do with the actual war taking place. This is just my having fun with OFP. Further "virtual" updates [along with real ones] will be forthcoming. I think the "real war" could heat up quickly. The gas masked reporters were funny at first. I had to laugh. On every station.

The Afgans had to be careful about that though. The soviets liked to retaleate against any down helicoptors or dead troops by sending out squads and rocket attacking or invading whole villages. Aslo any significant machinegun fire on that tail rotor [correct me if I'm wrong] and that also could bring one down? Of course it had a 60% survival rate. The structure of it is so strong. I work somewhere that we give out baloons and the balloons are in my area. Well on ocasion a someone will fill a balloon so big that when it gets to close to an overhead light it will pop. I react to this by ducking or wirling around in an excited state. People will laugh but for a split second I'm back on the electronic battlefield. Need theripy as someone above mentioned? No. Ofp is unlike any other game I've ever played. The sound of those tracked vehicles. When your next to a building and you have bullits hitting the side with some wirling past your head, your cutoff from your fellow soldiers, and your almost out of ammo it stops being a game and is all to real! When you watch the 4 men in front, on the sides, and in back of you get slammed down by enemy gun fire it stops being just a game for that moment and is scarey as you know what! I was headed home from work one night when I heard two cars collide. It was nothing serious. No damage becuase both vehicles were big suvs. The sound was enough to scare the living daylights out of me. I haven't even talked about hearing helicoptors and the images that pop into my head.

I vote Hind. Why? A: Having 60+ rockets is like a "rain of death" on the enemy in anything except a heavily armored vehicle [tank] or a fortified bunker or cave. b. It can not only kick mucho booty but also get troops to the battlefield at the same time. c. Just as fast as Apachie d. Can take heavier ordance hits and still keep going. Its just a warhorse of a bird and built like a old 50s car. Built to last with much style. Hind all the way.

I deleated some readme files and took out 2 islands[skye and DOA] + some other non essintail addons. Works fine so far.

Most of the time now Flashpoint won't start. I refuse to play it without addons. I'm angry to the point of giving up the game [shudders] if the problem is not solved by Codemasters/Bis or who ever handles such problems. They keep bringing out patches and adding stupid code this and that but they can't solve this horrible problem that has everyone in an uproar?! I either get the Can't memory map error or I get crunched up looking objects. Oooooh it makes me so mad. Â Â I remove an item from my addons file and it works but I'll download something and bamm it happens again. I am a busy person and I don't have time to fiddle with this software all the time. With Flight simulator from Microsoft I allways seem to be about a 1/2 to 1 generation behind in computer hardware for making the simulator work well at decent settings. My Simulator 98 works just fine. LOL. Yet 2002 clunks along on my Geforce2 Mx. Â Â Microsoft is [don't laugh] releasing a new Flight simulator this summer. That probably won't even run on my current machine. My computer is just over a year old. Â Â With Flashpoint I've got to wait untill they either fix this error in one of their zillion billion patches [what that make this 1.90 patch? The 10th this year?! Just kidding.] or I finnaly throw this buggy software of theirs in the garbage. Tic toc tic toc. Times running short on my patiance with this game.

Lets go to school shall we: I saw a PBS [Public Broadcasting] special on how MTV manipulates & sells these trends. Its scary stuff folks. They accually go to the houses and find what THEY think are the typical teens. Some slacker/skater wannabe rapstar/white guy trying to be black. The girls are as dumb and shallow as any on planet Earth. My dad would not get my sister and I cable television when we are both growing up. I was mad that I did'nt get to experiance the same thing my peers did. Now that I'm out in the real world and see just how superficial, dumb, and fat/lazy a lot of my generation and younger are I'm soooooooo glad my father did not get us cable! I was at the library and video store instead. And playing mucho pc games. I even [gasps from crowd] went outside. Where I live in Atlanta Georgia the people in my affuant Northern suberb are just a bunch of shallow yuppy scum. I'm sorry but the Land Rovers, Benz, and luxury SUvs are enough to make me want to puke. The houses all look like cookie cutter cutout of one another. The garages are shut, kids not playing outside, and guess what alot of these dimwits are probalby watching? A certian used to be music tv network. "Beam me up Scotty. There no sign of intelligent life anywhere." LOL. The women here are creepy. I was in a suit [i was looking sharp ] and was at the mall. These two women [around 27 to 33years old] were looking over me and one said "I'm sorry but life is to short to date UGLY men". Like I would even ask those two yuppo bottle water sipping, BMW driving, money seeking, MTV watching bwitches out on a date? My sister would never forgive me for dating anyone that superficail and shallow. The people who come into the place of bussiness are the same way for the most part. Rude and mean as rattle snakes.
