Hi Alex72, Thank you for your suggestion but unfortunately it’s still fubar. I tried but it just keeps on crashing to the desk top and dumping the memory. I guess I will have to wait until BI sorts it out. Thank you!
-
Haha! You are right! I have no idea why I included the case other than it being a shiny object. Lol! Anyhow, I will try out your suggestions tonight. I’ve been playing the game with my settings at very high and a view distance of 3,027m. Post processing is disabled and i am using the latest drivers from Nvidia - 197.13. Thank you!

I love this game but my game keeps on crashing, making this experience just frustrating. I have applied the suggestions on this thread and others to get the game to work without crashing to the desk but same story. The video crashes to the deck top but I can still hear the game in the background being played as if there was nothing wrong. And a few seconds later I get the blue screen with the process of “dumping of physical memory†Here are my specs: Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit System Manufacturer: Asus System Model: MB ASUS|P6T7 WS SUPERCOMPUTER BIOS: BIOS Date: 11/09/09 10:26:09 Ver: 08.00.15 Processor: Intel® Core i7 CPU 950 @ 3.07GHz (8 CPUs), ~3.1GHz Memory: MEM 2Gx3|CORS TR3X6G1600C8D Available OS Memory: 6136MB RAM Page File: 1395MB used, 10872MB available Display Adapter: VGA EVGA|017-P3-1295-AR GTX295 (Single) DirectX Version: DirectX 11 DxDiag Version: 6.01.7600.16385 64bit Unicode Blue Ray-COMBO LG | CH08LS10 CASE NZXT|ZERO BK/SIL RT PSU ANTEC|TPQ-1000 1000W HD 150G|WD WD1500HLFS 10000RPM

Hi Sesdelta38, Supernova and ch_123 are correct when it comes to building your own computer. It’s not that difficult, there are plenty of how do Is online for you to begin this process. It really comes down to price and money. If you have the money to spend on a computer by all means Alien is commercial brand owned by Dell that will offer the services that you need. However, for the same amount of money u can build a supercomputer on your own. Or u can build a great computer for half the price of an Alienware.

These are all some very thoughtful answers! The questions now is if some of this hardware will be or is already obsolete, were do i draw the line and feel satisfied with my purchase? Based on your suggestions here is my new rig: - Thermaltake ArmorPlus(Armor+) VH6000BWS Black Aluminum / Steel ATX Full Tower Computer Case - Western Digital VelociRaptor WD3000HLFS 300GB 10000 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive - EVGA 017-P3-1294-AR GeForce GTX 295 1792MB 896 Bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card (price went down) - CORSAIR CMPSU-850TX 850W ATX12V 2.2 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Active PFC Power Supply - CORSAIR DOMINATOR 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Triple Channel Kit Desktop - ASUS P6T7 WS Supercomputer LGA 1366 Intel X58 CEB Intel Motherboard - Retail - Intel Core i7-950 Bloomfield 3.06GHz LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Processor Model BX80601950 (It’s a lot cheaper than the 975) If the ASUS LGA 1366 will be obsolete by the fall, should i wait and purchase then or should i just get a lesser motherboard and upgrade it later on? Thank you, RedLion

Hi CameronMcDonald & Ch_123, Thank you kindly for your suggestions. You bring up some valid point for me to consider before buying. Much appreciated, RedLion ---------- Post added at 03:38 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:30 PM ---------- Hi Sertorius21, In terms of a lower i7 core, that means i would be looking at lower speeds, correct? And if i want to increase the speed i would have to overclock it, correct? - Something that i might consider doing. So if this is the case, i could get the same amount of speed with a lower i7 buy overclocking when compared to the i7 975? Thank you!

Hi Guys, I've been following this game since ofp and to that effect I can’t wait for their next upcoming title Arma2. That said, I do work for GameTrailers and I am sure we can do something for Arma2. Please send me a pm. I trust if you know the person responsible for their marketing you can certainly direct them my way and we will figure something out. Many thanks.:)

After so many years of UN sponsored sanctions and resolutions do oust Saddam, lethal force was the only option available. End of story. Saddam brought this fate onto him and all his criminal followers. This greater conflict has been in the making for many generations and unfortunately there are those who will agree with the actions taken and there are those who will not. We are by far perfect as a nation; just like all World states vying for global position the US is no different from the rest. Peace will surface one way or another in this region of the world. The question is what can we do as a united front to expedite this process?

Good to know that this asshole is dead, end of story. Muqtada al Sadr Al is next.

Hi guys, Since I currently own an old computer (5 years old), I think it is time for me to buy a new PC. My poor Dell is about to make that transition into computer hell soon! I am looking at an Intel Quad based computer. But before I endeavor on this quest, I would like to first ask for your expert opinions on this matter. When thinking about Armed Assault or even Game 2, is it worth the investment? Should I buy a dual core instead? Aside from wanting to play Armed Assault at an exceptional setting I do use my computer at home for work as well (power point heavy) Kindest regards, RedLion

Hey Balschoiw no hard feelings at all. This is a very interesting topic and I hope to share some more thoughts on this current conflict. I don't know if what I am saying is a stretch but when you say that Iran is a player now, it makes me wonder to what degree? How will it change the current scenario in the Middle East. You are correct to you say that one is dependent on the other but I'll finish my thoughts later I am at work at the moment.

"Are you so stupid to believe that the war was because of them?" I am sure you are not referring to me in this manner. Name calling will get you nowhere and ends with you. As I said before, this is a cycle that has been ongoing for a very long time. But your tone is certainly inflammatory and if one just quickly glanced at you initial posts, one could argue that you do not care about the current conflict. But given your background one could try to understand the way you feel. Peace to you.

"I’m getting tired of the "we are the victims" - attitude the Israeli people seem to be born with". Mmm, if you are so tired of the rants of Israelis you are just as tired of the daily rant of Muslim victims as well, correct?! Both sides have seen to write the destruction of each other. Just take a look at any encyclopedia for a better understanding of this unfortunate page in History. The comparison to Hitler or other Fascist characters can be drawn when establishing an argument of Ideologies such as Fascism or Communism. The Alkaedas of the world and all there supporting units form this ideological equation. In this case, they are a stateless organization bent on domination through the brutal use of Terror. Please call it what it is, Cowards who hide behind a religion. I feel for the true devout Muslim who has to live with these pigs. I sure hope that we end this cycle of violence. I am getting tired.
-
Hi TrevorofCrete, I was trying to follow your post but I got a little lost. Could you please clarify your opinion. Thank you.

Hola Garcia, It’s a defeatist way of thinking to assess that we cannot find a resolution to this war on terror. I cannot envision living in a country were one measures success by the level of Terrorism. If there are other countries that want to stand by this doctrine, fine by me. Let them deal with these idiots. To accept that one cannot do anything at all, that is bullshit. If that were the case we would have sued for peace when Hitler was around. You are correct in defining the greater argument that we are all humans and therefore we are prone to violence and disagreements but no sane person should stand down against these criminals. Fear is there tool. To say that there are humans who are willing to take the lives of other people is an understatement. To say that we will not be able to defeat every terrorist in this planet is just stupid and a play on words. It’s the collective movement that we are brining to an end. We have gang related shootings, bank robberies, racially motivated crimes you name it. But these individuals do not dictate my way of life. They do not take away my freedom or force me to believe in something I do not want. Like the old school bully, one has to stand-up against them to end your cycle of violence. There are many ways in which this war is being fought and I am sure that in the end we will prevail. There are too many other worldly examples to worry about in this world, i.e. the devastation of Aids in Africa, famine in many parts of the world, the lack of education and basic medical needs in many third world countries and on and on… Peace and freedom always come at a price, but the question here is what are you willing to do?
-
The war on Terror will be won. Patience…we have been talking to Terrorist organizations for a very long time with little or no results. War has not been the only option and if you think it is, there is plenty of history lying around for that argument. I do not think the media has been playing a natural position here. If they have been, Please tell me how? When it comes to these Terrorist, there is a saying in my country. It’s in Spanish but when translated it means, 'Every Pig will have its Christmas" These fucking mass murderers are and will be seeing there fucking Christmas. Fact. FYI. For many Hispanic countries it is customary to roast a pig during the Christmas holiday.

Hi Simba, Denoir's post holds a substantial view into the current scenario of what Venezuela is. He gave you more than enough information for a greater view of what our capitalistic system is at the moment. We cannot dispute that this system is perfect but judging from History and from what is available at this very moment, I am glad there is Starbucks around the corner of my apt. But in any case, what would you suggest to improve the livelihood of us humans on our planet, given our current economical portrait. Do you believe in a collective or an individualistic way of life? OR maybe both?
-
The truth is that in the end, Terrorism will be defeated no matter what. You can bitch and cry all you want, but those who are fighting this war on Terrorism will see to terminate these "holy warrior" Idiots. Those fucking cowards.

How many avid fans from the game series Close Combat are playing OFP? And if you are playing OFP, what attracted you in the first place and what are you hoping for in Armed Assault. One of the interesting features in Close Combat was the ability to play the grand Campaign against another human opponent. (ah the memories) I hope this feature is possible in Armed Assault, or at least some version of it.

“ps. good to see a true "patriot" in this thread†**Talk about a good laugh! “Make no mistake about it, the UN did not approve of this war and the world did not want it.†I don’t know what you consider to be the “real†world but it is not called a collation for no reason. And you know what; as far as Iraq is concerned, we and those other countries will gladly take the credit for our efforts in dethroning a tyrant who challenged all these UN resolutions for so many years. http://www.state.gov/p/nea/rls/01fs/14906.htm “What exactly are your accomplishments? Getting your boys killed? Killing a lot of civilians? Not being able to restore even the basic functions as water and electricity - even after seven months of occupation? Not being able to provide the most elementary security? If these are the things you are proud of, I don't want to know the things you are ashamed of.†**You obviously did not bother to read my post. I suggest you read before posting unsubstantiated and speculative data. The same could be said about many wars that have been fought in the past. “Well, I suppose you know better than Bremer who know went to Plan C because the rebuilding of Iraq is failing so miserably. Stop living in a fantasy world and look around at what's happening.†**If you are going to quote and article or for that matter use it for constructing and argument at least make it relevant to your statements. The “Plan C†is about the possible transfer of power and the difficulties it represents therein. It does not however, mention or care to imply the “failing of the coalition forces in their efforts to re-build Iraqâ€. Who is living in the fantasy world now? On a different note, this article is very interesting. It highlights the many concerns regarding security and the complexities of ethnic and tribal power and how they are being forged to create a stable representation of a governmental power. “Their euphoria about Saddam being overthrown is gone a long time ago, replaced with the harsh reality of the occupation: very limited water and electricity, no security and things are only getting worse.†**Yes for those who still want to see Saddam in power I could not agree more! Yet on the other side of the same coin, there is a clear majority who are more than pleased that the **hole tyrant is gone! Again, please read the links that I provided. The situation in Iraq is by no means a walk in the park. But, it is not as bleak as you care to so aggressively define. “From US point of view things are only getting worse as well. Terrorist density in Iraq has sky-rocketed†**Could you care to elaborate on this? “It's become the new Mecca for terrorists that can operate freely due to the inadequate number of US troops, plus they get to kill Americans. Your casualties are rising exponentially.†Even better! Let them all concentrate and bring their totalitarian and jihadist efforts to Iraq they will all perish there. It makes good sense strategically. We were bound to face all these idiots sooner or later. “You are going to pay the entire reconstruction bill all by yourself since you so tactfully pissed the rest of the world off before the war.†So you do agree in the re-construction efforts after all. Saddam is no longer in power and we are re-building and updating Iraq’s infrastructure like or not. Regards, RedLion
