Thanks for your reply. I'm sure there will be some scripting activity ones the final European versions are launched and hopefully soon after that America. Can't really say I can add alot on that point as my programming or scripting talents are pretty much an embarresment, but I'll try my best to catch up as time and brains alow . Too bad I'll have to wait till the end of March before I can buy the full version, life is a bit too busy at the moment to give priority to that, but the sparse moments left will be dedicated at this time to the demo. Anyhow more comments regarding people's experience of the AI in the different MP-battles would be an interesting read for me.

I would like to know how the AI is acting in the multiplayer missions (full version, not DEMO)? I ask this because when playing the CTF (demo), the AI just tries to walk to the enemy's flag position. OK, they do take cover and use some form of tactic to get there unharmed or unseen, but I've never seen them jump in a jeep or heli, never seen them even taking the enemy's flag and running back. I'm a real fan of OFP and have bought each expansion they brought out, but I must refer for this topic to UT. In UT the AI knows what it has to do according to the type of MP-map you're playing on. I understand UT is definitely not AA according to gameplay and target-audience, but it would be nice to see that the AI in AA is understanding the point of the MP-mission and acts accordingly (some go for the flag, some defend, some take good coverage positions, etc.). That way they would be more useful when implemented in MP-mission, not only cannon-meat or obstacles for the human player. I really hope it's possible to enhance the AI so that they're capable of at least fulfulling the MP-mission. And sometimes I prefer to play against AI only, not only to study the layout of the mission, but especially after a night of playing AA on the net, where it seemed that teamwork is a myth, honesty means killing team-members on purpose and cheating in some form of way is the new rage. I am sure some of you will understand what I'm talking about. Anyway, your comments are appreciated

I like everything I see with each new screenshot or video. I have no problem with the running-animation as some people seem to have, it looks very nice and I don't think at all they run too fast. I'm sure that when you're running for your life , you're sprinting like the devil's chasing you. BIS is doing a great great job as far as I can see, I even hope they will delay Game2 for 5 more years so that Arma will be exploited, modded, upgraded, tuned, changed and played so much that it is impossible to even try or test everything (as is the case already with OFP) Â .

Khalid, please use the SEARCH-function and you will find the answer you're looking for or at least links to the answer. Anyway to stop the flaming and stuff and preventing that this topic gets closed this is part of an English translation from a German magazine (credit to skeletor for translating): Mission Planner Once again an Island is in danger and American and Soviet troops meet. The developers are shy about revealing all the details of the story, only that the beginning is similar to the Flashpoint addon Resistance. ‘As before the players will find themselves playing as a US troop’ Throughout the single player campaign (with about 15-20 hours of playtime is not as considerable as the former), the mission planner lays explains the weapons, vehicles, soldiers and battlelines. In order to improve the situation, you can choose in the 12 main missions automatically generated side tasks to complete. When you for example in a preparatory operation conceal an artillery piece, you no longer have to fear cannon fire. To me it sounds that there will be artillery available. Hope this helps and let's stay now stay on the topic regarding the Hind, ok?

I just hope that the AI in MP will be smart enough to understand the tasks of the mission. Example: I play a CTF with 19 AI, so 20 soldiers in total. Will the AI have the possibility to capture the flag and bring it back to base, while the enemy tries to get hold of our flag and is desperately searching for our flagholder to shoot him down??? Or will they rather just run to the other camp, engaging any enemy on the way and upon arrival at the flagpole do nothing and just stand their like chickens without a head??? I ask this because in the MP-vid none of the AI seems to be using any vehicles, rather they all go on foot to seize the city. Maybe this was because the human-player was the leader, but anyway to get to the point => It would be more immersive if the AI is not only cannon-meat but really makes use of the vehicles/weapons available and acts accordingly to the goal/situation of the mission. Kinda like the AI in UT is smart enough to understand the goal of the mission and acts accordingly and at least somewhat human-like. Maybe for some this is not a big issue, but I sometimes like to play against the AI to know the environment of the mission and know the positions of supplies. Also usefull when playing online and it's one of those days where you only meet gones and childish people on the server, ruining the gameplay of the evening. On such moments I prefer to spend that evening playing CTF or any other type of mission against the AI. They don't shoot their own teammates, follow commands if given, don't clutter the chat-lines with crap and don't use the VOIP to speak garbage and preventing other people from understanding the commands or info given by serious players. I'm sure some, if not most of you, will understand what I talk about and have the same frustating feelings on those moments .

It's a placeholder for the correct fictional flag. If you look more closely you will actually notice that there is room for 4 flags on the MP-screen. The name of the country is written in yellow on the flag. When you pay attention to the white square to the right of the Australian flag, you will notice that there is some text written in the white square, not readable but the yellow is there. Maybe I see things that are not there, but maybe it will support up to 4 factions. 1 for the USA 1 for the resistance of Southern Sahrani 1 for the Northern Sahrani and maybe 1 for civilians or a another army supporting Northern Sahrani??? Anyway just something I noticed and wanted to share with y'all. Edited: I meant the right side where the thumb is on the left side...stupid, stupid me

Probably because he needs that in the afterlife or as a sign of respect for the fallen soldiers. Anyway, remember when you played MP and you got shot dead, you were flying overhead as a gull! I wonder if in Arma you will fly around this time as a butterfly? Or maybe as a goat? Donkey? .... Aaahhh what does it matter anyway, a gull is just fine for me and maybe this time we can even drop some "stuff" on the enemies, causing temporarily blindness to the victim  .

I remember playing one of the original CO-OP missions that shipped with OFP. If I remember correctly it was "Seize the city" Â . I was in command of a normal squad and giving orders right from the start of the mission. Trying to utilize the tactics that I learned during my army-days. I was trying to get everyone to the border of the forest in line-formation, waiting till everyone was in position to give the command to open fire. I must say that everybody, except for some stupid dude, followed the commands. It was such a fantastic feeling when playing this mission - running - diving for cover while getting fire-support from other squad members. At the end we cleared the city from all remaining enemies, three of us survived the assault. From all my time playing OFP this is one of my most vivedst and beautiful memories. I think that OFP and ArMa are such games that for the bigger part attracts the serious gamer, who prefers realism and using real life tactics. Of course there will always be some people trying to screw it up for the rest, but in the end the dedicated people will give this game its long life and keep the servers running. And let us also not forget the newly introduced VOIP that will enhance this experience and dedication even more .

Happy Easter to all of you (including BIS of course )

I hope to see better AI-multiplayer in OFP2. Sometimes it's fun to be able to play with the AI some COOP, CTF, or TDM. Maybe I compare it too much with UT2004 but in that way it's possible to train on the MP maps before commencing real battle on the net. They should have ability to understand the tasks that are at hand in MP-missions, e.g. Ou Kov is captured by the enemy, some AI should go and try to retake the city. It would also still allow to play MP-missions in OFP2 after 10 years because I will not be able to buy a new comp very because soon my family will be 3 persons rich instead of 2 and I want to spend most of my time and money on him/her???. Rest of the money goes to beer , rest of time to OFP2 (which will be so enriched due to more 3rd party addons ). Hoping some people also would enjoy this extra AI.
